The one edition of these letters was first published between 1844 and 1846 and is here reprinted in seven volumes. Volume VII concludes the series with the final two months of his life, climaxing in the Battle of Trafalgar, where he was killed at the moment of his greatest victory. It includes his famous prayer written on 21 October 1805, the last thing he ever wrote.
