The New Creation by Tony Smits Pdf

The Living Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 "When someone becomes a Christian he becomes a brand new person on the inside" This is part of the wonderful saving work of God in the New Testament dispensation. To live in the power of this new life and walk in victory however, we need to clearly know the difference between the truth's of "Us in Christ" and "Christ in Us." These truth's are clearly set out in this book and when they are applied in our life, we gain the vistory over our two enemies, the flesh and the devil. My prayer is that everyone who reads this book may experience the abundant life that Jesus speaks of in John 10:10.

Simply Good News by Tom Wright Pdf

The Gospel means good news, but what makes it news? If the message has been around for 2,000 years, what could possibly be newsworthy about it? And what makes it good? Surely not the stories we hear of damnation, violence, and an angry God. Tom Wright believes many Christians have lost sight of what the ‘good news’ of the gospel really is. In Simply Good News, he shows how a first-century audience would have received the gospel message, what the ‘good news’ means for us today and how it can transform our lives.

The Spirit, New Creation, and Christian Identity by Grant Buchanan Pdf

Considering the importance of pneumatological themes for interpreting Paul's argument of Galatians, Grant Buchanan explores how Paul draws from Jewish traditions of creation and the Spirit and presents a fresh cosmogony to the Galatian church. He suggests that Galatians outlines an epistemological shift in how Paul sees past, present, and future reality in light of Christ and the presence of the Spirit in the lives of the believers. The most crucial aspect of this new cosmogony is the centrality of the Spirit in Paul's argument in Galatians 3:1–6:17, with Buchanan's exegesis revealing that the Spirit, the Galatians' identity as children of God and the new creation motif are not merely elements of Paul's argument but intrinsic to it. Buchanan demonstrates that Paul renders Jewish and Gentile identities no longer valid, instead revealing that God's favour and election is already with them by stating that those who have the promised Spirit are all children of God. He examines Jewish biblical and Second Temple extra-biblical texts that explicitly connect the Spirit to creation themes, including Genesis, Ezekiel, the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Wisdom of Solomon. Taking Galatians 6:11–17 as the body-closing of the letter, the new creation motif directly implies the activity of the Spirit in the creation of Christian identity. Analysing 6:15 from this pneumatological perspective, Buchanan argues that the new creation motif represents a key aspect of Paul's generative cosmogony and pneumatology, indicating a far broader socio-cosmic transformation than previously assumed, and it becomes a key to understanding Paul's argument.

Faces of Tradition in Chinese Performing Arts by Levi S. Gibbs Pdf

Case studies examining the individual’s role in how traditional Chinese performing arts like music and dance are represented, maintained, and cultivated. Faces of Tradition in Chinese Performing Arts examines the key role of the individual in the development of traditional Chinese performing arts such as music and dance. These artists and their artistic works—the “faces of tradition” —come to represent and reconfigure broader fields of cultural production in China today. The contributors to this volume explore the ways in which performances and recordings, including singing competitions, textual anthologies, ethnographic videos, and CD albums, serve as discursive spaces where individuals engage with and redefine larger traditions and themselves. By focusing on the performance, scholarship, collection, and teaching of instrumental music, folksong, and classical dance from a variety of disciplines—these case studies highlight the importance of the individual in determining how traditions have been and are represented, maintained, and cultivated. “Faces of Tradition in Chinese Performing Arts [examines] the dynamic relationship between individual representatives of tradition and the evolution of the traditions themselves.” —A. C. Shahriari, Kent State University, Choice

Life-Study of Luke by Witness Lee Pdf

In the Lord’s recovery during the past five hundred years the church’s knowledge of the Lord and His truth has been continually progressing. This monumental and classical work by Brother Witness Lee builds upon and is a further development of all that the Lord has revealed to His church in the past centuries. It is filled with the revelation concerning the processed Triune God, the living Christ, the life-giving Spirit, the experience of life, and the definition and practice of the church. In this set Brother Lee has kept three basic principles that should rule and govern every believer in their interpretation, development, and expounding of the truths contained in the Scriptures. The first principle is that of the Triune God dispensing Himself into His chosen and redeemed people; the second principle is that we should interpret, develop, and expound the truths contained in the Bible with Christ for the church; and the third governing principle is Christ, the Spirit, life, and the church. No other study or exposition of the New Testament conveys the life nourishment or ushers the reader into the divine revelation of God’s holy Word according to His New Testament economy as this one does.

New Creation by Frank C. Senn Pdf

Although the twentieth century has witnessed a thorough liturgical revival and renewal, the last ten years have exploded in diverse and conflicting styles, settings, and even media of corporate worship: traditional high-church liturgies, alternative worship for small communities, women church services, seeker services at megachurches, and more. Does this innovation portend a brave new liturgical world, or is it just dumbing down? For example, do megachurch services simply revive the old frontier revival and, in an effort to reach out, accommodate Christianity to the reigning consumer culture? One of today's most knowledgeable liturgical theologians and historians contemplates the future shape of liturgy. He believes that ritual systems--liturgy--express and inculcate a worldview, an implicit theology; and, he fears lest the community of faith gain the whole world and lose its soul. New Creation proposes the lines of a Christian culture or worldview, or way of life, that can inform liturgical renewal. Twelve erudite and earnest chapters further specify this counter-cultural matrix as it pertains to God, Christ, church, creation, world, worship, hospitality, culture, evangelism, prayer, and life itself.
