Interactions Between China’s National Emissions Trading Scheme and Electricity Market: Practices and Policies by Tsun Se Cheong,Xunpeng (Roc) Shi,Yongping Sun,Jian Yu,Xin Yao Pdf

China’s national carbon market, the world’s largest emissions trading scheme (ETS), kicked off its first online trade recently. This can be called a milestone for the country towards the nation’s goals of having CO2 emissions peak before 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. China’s national ETS initially covers the power sector, before being expanded to a much broader set of energy-intensive industries. On one hand, the electricity sector, the largest carbon-emitting industry, is responsible for about 40% of China’s emissions, and it has great significance to response to global climate change. On the other hand, the effectiveness of China’s ETS will rest on how well it is coordinated with power market regulations and policies. In this regard, the deepening of reform, as well as the advanced technology and its applications in the electricity market will add new challenges and opportunities to electricity trade, which, in turn, influences national ETS. Therefore, this brings urgency to accurately capture the dynamic interactions between national ETS and electricity market to transform carbon trading into a practical and effective way to decarbonize the power sector.

This is an open access book. With the rapid development of modern economy and Internet technology, the traditional financial industry has to develop Internet finance to provide better services and meet the needs of the times. It is against this background that the blockchain, relying on its special advantages (collective maintenance, reliable databases, and decentralization), provides the reliability to solve the credit risk of Internet finance, has an impact on institutions, trust mechanisms, risk control, etc. in the Internet finance industry, and has derived more new application scenarios, thus paving the way for the development of finance in the Internet era. Applying blockchain technology to the financial field can promote data information sharing, improve value transmission efficiency, and enhance database security. The financial market based on the decentralized system of blockchain technology can reduce the operating costs of financial institutions, improve economic efficiency, and solve problems such as information asymmetry. The new financial business model of "blockchain+finance" is conducive to improving the Internet credit reporting system, preventing and controlling Internet financial risks, and further realizing "financial disintermediation". At present, in China's financial field, blockchain technology has been applied and innovated in supply chain finance, cross-border payment, trade finance, asset securitization and other scenarios. To promote the exchange and development of blockchain, information technology and financial experts and scholars. The 2nd International Academic Conference on Blockchain, Information Technology and Smart Finance (ICBIS 2023) will be held in Hangzhou from February 17 to 19, 2023. Economic Development and the Environmental Ecosystem by Hasan Dincer,Serhat Yüksel Pdf

This volume illustrates the relationship between environmental factors and economic development of countries from various angles. Global warming has become a problem that threatens the whole world, especially in recent years. It is known that the main reason for this is carbon emissions. On the other hand, carbon emissions generally consist of fossil fuel-based energy consumption. This situation creates very serious environmental problems. Because of this problem, the concept of carbon zero has become very popular, especially in recent years. Many countries take some actions to minimize carbon emissions. Especially in the coming years, carbon emissions will become a competitive factor for countries and businesses. In this respect, countries with low carbon emissions will be preferred more in foreign trade. In addition, businesses that do not generate carbon emissions in the production process will also gain a significant competitive advantage in international trade. The contributions take a multidimensional outlook to energy investments and offer solutions for decision-making for energy projects in risky business ecosystems.
