Emotional Recovery from Trauma, Tragedy and PTSD by Bruce Rosborough Pdf
There are many kinds of traumas and tragedies: war, crime, school violence, abuse, natural disasters, refugees, life-threatening illness, the death of loved ones, depression, addictions, prison, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). All involve a deep sense of loss and affect us deeply. There are a lot of hurting people in our world. I myself had multiple instances of trauma and PTSD, both as a child and as an adult. In this book of poems I tell my story of recovery. Although the circumstances of the particular trauma or tragedy differ widely, the emotions that a person feels during each stage of recovery are rather similar. That is the premise behind this book. The book has thirty poems, divided into three sections of ten poems each.1) "Troubles": poems "Damaged", "Injured", "Grief", "Afraid", "Alone", "Rage", "Coping Badly", "Stuck", "Doubt", and "Suicidal".2) "Transition": poems "Trust", "Honesty", "Courage", "Reframing", "No More", "The Fight", "Progress", "Release", "Life or Death", and "Questions".3) "Transformation": poems "Beliefs", "Integrity", "Grit", "Shine", "Dazzling", "Boldness", "Arrival", "Learning to Love", "Live for Today", and "Freedom". The book is written to individuals, from me to you. It has also been shown to be useful in group therapy sessions of military veterans with PTSD. Bad things happen, but with help and effort we can recover from them. My hope is that this book aids you in your recovery.
