Encyclopedia of Sacred Theology: Its Principles is the second in a three-volume series. Written by Abraham Kuyper and translated into English by Reverend J. Hendrick Devries, it is a massive book about the history of theology and its place amongst the sciences. This volume does not contain the typical contents of an encyclopedia. Instead of a series of short entries on a variety of topics, Kuyper's book reads much more like a history text. The book is divided into three parts, each of which consists of multiple chapters. The book presents an extremely detailed and nuanced discussion of the nature of theology.
