Eris or Proserpine? by Raimo Nikula Pdf

Raimo Nikula's book on Eris is not quite according to the main current in astrology, but he presents an ample collection of examples which prove his point - as far as it is possible at all. Not Eris - the sower of discord, but a part of the underground triangle, Pluto/Hades (Father), Ceres/Demeter (Mother) and Eris - aka Proserpina/Persephone (daughter). To understand Eris, we have to think her as a part of a mythic family, which present subconscious urges and motives stemming from closeness - mixed feelings of dependencies between mother and father and their daughter. In this mythic triangle, Proserpine/Eris easily becomes a pawn in power games between other family members. Taking Eris at a face value=name is the interpretation misses the point, author says. Most of the interpretations of Eris is not about Eris as such, but they seem to be descriptions of Eris present sign, Aries. By looking into lives of famous people, who had strong Eris, we can expand our understanding this mysterious new (small) planet. The belief that every new planet name corresponds its meaning, should be challenged as a questionable shortcut to truth. We will not know what Eris means unless we collect data and link Eris to individual-psychological as well as universal and collective phenomena. That is what this book aims to do

Eris Rising by Courtney Ramm Pdf

Warrior's aren't born, they are forged from the harsh experiences that shape them as they strive to defend what is sacred and true. And geniuses aren't born either-or are they? Courtney Ramm would know, as she's one of 229 offspring born from the controversial "Genius Sperm Bank", a genetic experiment that existed in the 1980s and '90s. With a predisposition for "genius", Courtney found herself driven toward success. Following her passion for dance, by the age of eight she was studying at the renowned School of American Ballet and soon thereafter, performing on New York's greatest stages. At twenty-five years old, she acted upon a strong inner calling to start her own dance company-in Hawaii. Moving across the globe from the concrete jungle of Manhattan to the tropical jungle in Hawaii, Courtney brought along her endless to-do lists and a strong determination to succeed. But one thing was missing from the picture-perfect life she had imagined: a perfect husband. When she first locked eyes with Marcus at a spiritual gathering, she sensed something was off in the uncanny intensity of his stare. But she dove into a relationship anyway, not grasping the graveness and outright danger of the decision. Eris Rising is a story of breaking deep karmic patterns, grappling with the calling of destiny, and changing long-held karma into mission. With the powerful feminine warrior spirit of Eris as inspiration, this memoir shows how it's possible to move forward after life-altering "mistakes", and recover the true "genius" within.

Expedition to Earth by Arthur C. Clarke Pdf

Short stories from the science fiction master—including the tale that inspired 2001: A Space Odyssey. These stories present a brilliant showcase of Arthur C. Clarke’s many-layered approach to the moral dilemmas of scientific advancement—from the thrilling and brutal “Breaking Strain” to the more poetic and thoughtful “Second Dawn.” Also included is “The Sentinel”—the basis for the classic Stanley Kubrick film 2001: A Space Odyssey. This outstanding collection reminds us that the author of Childhood’s End was not only a giant in the world of science fiction, a recipient of multiple Nebula and Hugo Awards, and an incomparable storyteller, but also a “skilled literary artist” (Hartford Courant). “I do not know of any short story that has moved me more than Arthur C. Clarke’s ‘If I Forget Thee, Oh Earth.’” —The Christian Science Monitor

Tales from Planet Earth by Arthur C. Clarke Pdf

If you want an omnibus of short fiction by Arthur C. Clarke, a Science Fiction Writers of America Grand Master, then you want The Collected Stories of Arthur C. Clarke. If you're looking for a representative sample of Clarke's short stories, or for some examples of the creative and extrapolative abilities that established Clarke as one of science fiction's greatest and most important writers, then check out Tales from Planet Earth. Tales from Planet Earth ranges widely across time, but the stories are centered on our home world. Many SF writers confine their visions of earth to its flatlands, but Clarke is three-dimensional; his stories "Hate," "The Deep Range," and "The Man Who Ploughed the Sea" plunge into the ocean, while "The Cruel Sky" ascends the Himalayas. Some stories, like "The Other Tiger" and "'If I Forget Thee, Oh Earth...,’" end on chilling twists. "The Road to the Sea" spans centuries and millennia to explore how humanity's exodus to the stars may affect the world left behind. "Hate" considers how transcendence of the Earth's atmosphere may affect ancient enmities. "The Parasite" demonstrates a scary nastiness not usually associated with Clarke. "The Wall of Darkness" is set on an alternate-universe earth so different from ours, and "The Lion of Comarre" is set in a future so far away, that both stories feel like fantasy; but both are rigorously extrapolated from scientific theory. Two lighthearted entertainments, "The Next Tenants" and "The Man Who Ploughed the Sea," are from Tales of the White Hart. All of the stories in Tales from Planet Earth are recommended. “Here...is a collection of Arthur's science fiction stories, science fiction dealing with science, extrapolated intelligently. How you will enjoy it!" —ISAAC ASIMOV

The Collected Stories of Arthur C. Clarke by Arthur C. Clarke Pdf

Six decades of fascinating stories from the legendary “colossus of science fiction” and creator of 2001: A Space Odyssey gathered in one compendium (The New Yorker). Arthur C. Clarke, along with H. G. Wells, Isaac Asimov, and Robert A. Heinlein, was a definitive voice in twentieth century science fiction. A prophetic thinker, undersea explorer, and “one of the true geniuses of our time,” Clarke not only won the highest science fiction honors, the Nebula and Hugo Awards, but also received nominations for an Academy Award and the Nobel Peace Prize, and was knighted for his services to literature (Ray Bradbury). Now, more than one hundred works of the sci-fi master’s short fiction are available in the “single-author collection of the decade” (Booklist, starred review). This definitive edition includes early work such as “Rescue Party” and “The Lion of Comarre,” classics like “The Nine Billion Names of God” and “The Sentinel” (which was the kernel of the later novel and movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey), and later works including “A Meeting with Medusa” and “The Hammer of God.” Encapsulating one of the great science fiction careers of all time, this immense volume “displays the author’s fertile imagination and irrepressible enthusiasm for both good storytelling and impeccable science” (Library Journal). “One of the most astounding imaginations ever encountered in print.” —The New York Times “As his Collected Stories helps to demonstrate, there has been no popular writer since the days of C S Lewis and Charles Williams whose disposition is more nakedly apocalyptic, who takes greater pleasure in cradling eternity in the palm of his hand.” —The Guardian

Days of Burning, Days of Wrath by Tom Kratman Pdf

A NEW NOVEL IN TOM KRATMAN'S HARD-HITTING MILITARY SF CARRERA SERIES When Patricio Carrera’s family was murdered by Salafist terrorists aided and abetted by the fleet of alien Earth, the only restraint on his ruthlessness and ambition was also removed. Now, after decades of war and preparation for war in his adopted homeland of Balboa, the last of the Tauran Union Expeditionary Force collapses and is herded into prison camps and ships, where their re-education commences. An Islamic rebellion explodes inside the Tauran Union, bringing the governments and the bureaucracies to their knees . . . except when they’re hauled up by their necks on lampposts. In neighboring Santa Josefina, the Taurans’ Task Force Jesuit is pinned into one small corner of the country, helplessly awaiting destruction. At sea, the Balboan classis and the remaining fleet of the Zhong Hegemony battle for the supply lines that keep the invading Zhong Army in Balboa alive, while the legions, now rid of the Taurans, redeploy against the Zhong, vengeance and massacre in their hearts and minds. And finally, Hamilcar Carrera, Patricio’s young son, stands poised on the bridge of a clandestine assault transport, ready to obliterate the last enemy base on his planet, even as a small ship is poised to remove the alien interstellar fleet overhead. God, Man, and The Machine by Daniel Strasel Pdf

Synopsis: An uninteresting man of mistaken importance struggles to understand his role in life. This imaginative and thought-provoking book of quips, reflections, and antagonisms reads in the spirit of science fiction. The author deems it “philosofiction”. Δ * * * The year is 2066. Silverberg, the world’s youngest and undisputedly most powerful country, generally entertains only the most prominent visitors and immigrants. However, this year it has intentionally attracted an otherwise uninteresting young man of average station. When the powers that lured him cannot find him, the hunt begins. Misunderstanding his importance, multiple operatives of high station and various loyalties race to find him. As time progresses, the intensity thickens. Those who join this man find their own lives disrupted and changed forever, swept up by the storm surrounding him. While he means no harm to anybody, his pursuers will not rest until he is found and destroyed. It is only a matter of time. Bombarded with varying opinions about the truth, this man struggles for discernment and understanding, but what he believes cannot save him - or can it? * * * Pragmatic dogma, theology, and atheology collide and argue in the background as we follow this unhero through a quick, comedic, dark, and philosophical journey of determining what he is - deciding between God, Man, and The Machine. This 316 page volume includes maps, art, footnotes, appendices, and more. Δ Phi·los·o·phy Investigation of the nature, causes, or principles of reality, knowledge, or values, based on logical reasoning rather than empirical methods. Fic·tion A literary work whose content is produced by the imagination and is not necessarily based on fact.
