College Algebra Essentials by Robert Blitzer Pdf

For courses in College Algebra. This book takes the same approach as the regular Blitzer College Algebra 3e version, but has been condensed by deleting the last 3 chapters (Chapter 6 Matrices and Determinants, Chapter 7 Conic Sections and Analytic Geometry, and Chapter 8 Sequences, Induction, and Probability). This text explores math the way it evolved: by describing real problems and how math explains them. It is interesting, lively (with applications you won't see in any other math book), and exceedingly clear. Blitzer's philosophy: present the full scope of mathematics, while always (1) engaging the student by opening their minds to learning (2) keeping the student engaged on every page (3) explaining ideas directly, simply, and clearly. Students are strongly supported by a consistent pedagogical framework. A "See it, Hear it, Try it?" format consistently walks students through each and every example in just the same way that an instructor would teach this example in class. Blitzer liberally inserts voice balloons and annotations throughout the text helping clarify the more difficult concepts for students.

The Essentials of Algebra, for Secondary Schools by Robert J. Aley Pdf

Excerpt from The Essentials of Algebra, for Secondary Schools In the preparation of this book the authors have made an earnest effort to retain all the essentials of the older Algebra text-books, and to introduce and properly emphasize certain newer features which the mathematical studies of the present demand. The following are some of the special characteristics of the book: 1. The Number System. The number system is presented in the first chapter, and from the arithmetical system extension is made to the algebraic number system. In this way the idea of negative number is introduced and the fundamental operations are explained. 2. Factoring. This subject is treated with particular fullness, and use is made of the factorial method wherever applicable in the study of Algebra. At the first reading, Sections 79, 80, and 86, covering certain details of factoring, may be omitted if thought desirable. The ordinary student, however, should have no special difficulty in mastering these sections. 3. The Graph. The work with graphs is made an integral part of the book. The graphs of simple and quadratic equations are used freely to aid the pupil's understanding of the solutions involved. Graphic illustrations are given wherever it is thought they will make the subject clearer. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Math Essentials by Heron Books Pdf

Math Essentials: Finding and Filling the Gaps is a 13 part book created to help find and fill the gaps that hinder algebra studies. The program assumes a student has mastered basic addition, subtraction and multiplication, but it addresses division, if needed, as this was commonly found to be weak. It isn't designated for use with a specific age or grade, but is addressed to students preparing to study algebra, and has most often been used with teens. The program includes a variety of tools an instructor can use to tailor the program to a student's needs. Diagnostic tests identify which math skills the student hasn't already mastered. The individual learning guide for each unit allows the student to study just what is needed. A variety of exercises allow the student to practice as much as needed and to stay sharp on skills learned. Each of the skills covered in the program are provided in individual books as well as all together in one full book. Learning guides and exams are provided for each skill, and may be used with both the appropriate individual books and the full book.

The Essentials of High School Math by Joseph R. Davis Pdf

The Essentials of High School Math was designed to help students learn the basics of mathematics that they are supposed to understand upon entering high school, as well as the fundamental lessons within Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics that students typically learn in ninth and tenth grade. It is specifically intended for students identified as possibly having trouble on an upcoming state-mandated math exam, or for those who have already failed such an exam and must re-take it. The book was created to include everything a student needs to study, practice, and learn the material that any high school student should know. It contains almost 1,000 problems for students to practice, and the lessons themselves contain about 100 questions from actual state exams that are thoroughly explained, along with hundreds of other examples. Each lesson is designed to cover one topic only so that students may learn and thoroughly understand that topic. Whether with the help of a teacher, tutor, parent, or even alone, any student should be able to read through a lesson and have a good understanding of it. The Essentials of High School Math is recommended for any student that needs help with math.

College Algebra by Jay Abramson Pdf

College Algebra provides a comprehensive exploration of algebraic principles and meets scope and sequence requirements for a typical introductory algebra course. The modular approach and richness of content ensure that the book meets the needs of a variety of courses. College Algebra offers a wealth of examples with detailed, conceptual explanations, building a strong foundation in the material before asking students to apply what they've learned. Coverage and Scope In determining the concepts, skills, and topics to cover, we engaged dozens of highly experienced instructors with a range of student audiences. The resulting scope and sequence proceeds logically while allowing for a significant amount of flexibility in instruction. Chapters 1 and 2 provide both a review and foundation for study of Functions that begins in Chapter 3. The authors recognize that while some institutions may find this material a prerequisite, other institutions have told us that they have a cohort that need the prerequisite skills built into the course. Chapter 1: Prerequisites Chapter 2: Equations and Inequalities Chapters 3-6: The Algebraic Functions Chapter 3: Functions Chapter 4: Linear Functions Chapter 5: Polynomial and Rational Functions Chapter 6: Exponential and Logarithm Functions Chapters 7-9: Further Study in College Algebra Chapter 7: Systems of Equations and Inequalities Chapter 8: Analytic Geometry Chapter 9: Sequences, Probability and Counting Theory
