Exercises with Phrasal Verbs #1 by Clic-books Digital Media Pdf

Exercises with Phrasal Verbs#1 is for anyone learning English as a foreign or second language (EFL/ESL). It is aimed at students of intermediate and advanced levels. The book provides extensive practice of over 350 of the most useful phrasal verbs in English. Let’s be honest, phrasal verbs are never going to be the most fun part of learning English. However, with this ‘clic-book’ you can work with a lot of material at your own speed and without pressure, focusing on this key aspect of the language. The book is divided into three sections. PART ONE focuses on phrasal verbs that use the most frequent lexical verbs (get, go, make, put, etc.), providing lots of opportunities to practice these verbs. PART TWO is based on the prepositions used in phrasal verbs (about, from, in, on, up, etc.) and once again provides a great many opportunities to practice the most common verbs. In parts ONE and TWO you will study over 350 different phrasal verbs, each used in different exercises. Finally, PART THREE contains five longer texts containing many of the phrasal verbs found in the previous parts of the book. These longer texts are very useful for practising reading comprehension at an intermediate and advanced level. This book is for students at levels B and C of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, for TOEFL, and for those studying towards Cambridge First Certificate and Cambridge Advanced ESOL exams. * ~ * Clic-books: What? Clic-books are a simple and enjoyable way to practice a foreign language. Using your phone, tablet or e-book reader, work through the texts at your own pace. They are 100% bilingual, so it’s like having a personal tutor you as you read! Clic-books: Why? Because people have busy lives, and learning languages is difficult and time-consuming. Clic-books are all about little and often. Whenever you have a few minutes free, practice a foreign language in a relaxed and convenient way, developing your knowledge quickly and effectively. Clic-books: How? Clic-books present you with very short examples of a foreign language, normally one sentence at a time. By clicking to the following page you see the same sentence, along with a translation into your own language. Use these to check your comprehension, enriching your vocabulary and fluency as you go.

Phrasal Verb by Annabelle Jenkins Pdf

Every day all around the world, learners of the English language are constantly battling with those irksome multiple word verbs which we all refer to as phrasal verbs. This book has been written as a guide on how to use two hundred commonly used phrasal verbs by way of exercises. There is also a glossary which goes more into detail on their usage along with plenty more examples. It is always best to learn phrasal verbs in a natural context through natural speech. Without context, phrasal verbs mean nothing. Level B1 to C1 grammar is continuously used throughout the book to enable learners to learn not only phrasal verbs in a natural context but also to become more acquainted with grammar structures. The author has not gone into detail about how to remember which particle goes with which verb. There are ongoing debates among linguists about whether or not this makes a complicated situation even more complicated. It does nothing to speed up the learning process if the student has to waste time trying to decipher particles before he or she starts to speak. Phrasal verbs are picked up naturally as students slowly progress in their studies. Remember, out of context even native speakers are unable to decipher their meanings.

English Phrasal Verbs Book 1 by Keith Folse Pdf

To speak a new language, you need vocabulary. You need words, phrases, key sentences, and idioms. To speak a language really well, you need a lot of vocabulary, and you need to know the different meanings for the vocabulary. One of the most difficult part of English is a special vocabulary group called phrasal verb. Phrasal verbs have two or three words. The first word is usually a very common one-syllable verb like "take," "come," "put," or "go." The second part is usually a preposition or adverb like "off," "up," "in," or "away." These parts together have a new meaning. You can know the meaning of "take" and the meaning of "off," but "take off" has a different meaning. The goal of this book is to help you learn the most frequent phrasal verb with their most important meetings. Instead of long vocabulary lists, each lesson in this book teaches you only three phrasal verbs, with meanings and many useful examples. There are also many short exercises for you to practice the phrasal verbs in a very direct way. They can be completed in a day, a week, or as much time as you need.
