National Socialist Extermination Policies by Ulrich Herbert Pdf

This volume comprises 11 essays--most of them revised versions of lectures given 1996-1997 at the Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg--by German historians of the younger generation (all born since 1951). The purpose of the lecture series was to "leave behind the stale and rigid terms of Holocaust scholarship and public discussion of the issue" (from the editor's foreword). The essays, focusing on Poland, the Soviet Union, Serbia, and France, aim to identify the impulses that drove German activities in each area and to identify how various political goals and ideological convictions combined to produce policy. War of Extermination by Hannes Heer,Klaus Naumann Pdf

This volume contains the most important contributions by distinguished historians who have thoroughly demolished this Wehrmacht myth. The picture that emerges from this collection is a depressing one and raises many questions about why "ordinary men" got involved as perpetrators and bystanders in an unprecedented program of extermination of "racially inferior" men, women, and children in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union during the Second World War."--Pub. desc.

Years of Persecution, Years of Extermination by Christian Wiese,Paul Betts Pdf

This volume provides an in-depth discussion of Saul Friedlander's landmark two-volume history of the Holocaust, Nazi Germany and the Jews. It brings together a range of internationally acclaimed historians to address the manifold conceptual and historiographical issues raised in Friedlander's monumental work. It includes a major essay by Friedlander himself on the challenges of producing an integrated history of the Holocaust. The aim of this book is not simply to evaluate Friedlander's work on its own merits, but rather to use his text as a means of exploring the contours and future of Holocaust historiography. The central concern is to situate his work within the broader terrain of Holocaust studies and European history, as well as to explore the ways in which his book opens up new directions in the knowledge, study and understanding of the Shoah in particular and twentieth century genocide in general.

Katyn: State-Sponsored Extermination by M.B. Szonert Pdf

KATYN: State-Sponsored Extermination is an insightful collection of essays and captivating historical photographs surrounding the mass murder of Polish officers and mass deportations of their families by the Soviet Union, a criminal act of historic proportions and enduring political implications. In March 1940 Joseph Stalin decided to exterminate 25,700 best sons of Poland based on the cold calculation that "death of one person amounts to a tragedy but death of millions amounts to mere statistics." We, the people, have the moral obligation to assure that the rational on which Joseph Stalin based his genocidal decision is wrong. This collection of essays is an attempt to draw public attention to the fact that the Katyn Crime has not been fully disclosed, adequately adjudicated, and properly condemned to this day. Accordingly, families of those who perished in the Katyn hecatomb are yet to find peace since the moral calculus that brings about closure has not been worked out with respect to the Katyn Crime.

Ambacide: The Genocide and Extermination Reminiscent of Extermination of Jews (Holocaust) by Adolf Hitler by Tatah Mentan Pdf

Genocide and extermination are no longer mere words, promises, hopes, etc. These acts are already a law which can be enforced. In practical terms, this law means no more extermination, no more mass killings, no more concentration camps, no more sterilisations, no more wanton rapes, no more killings and burning of people to conceal evidence, no more torching of habitats, no more breaking up of families. The call to stop genocide is often presented as the paramount moral obligation in contemporary global politics. The 'Never Again' refrain and the consistent references to the ethical value of Responsibility to Protect genocide stand as calls for urgent political mobilisation. Taking a look at the internet blackouts, the militarisation of towns and cities all across Southern Cameroons (Ambazonia), the indiscriminate torching of hundreds of villages, schools and health centres, the rampant gang rape of females by HIV-infected troops, mass killings of civilians, burning of innocent civilians in their sleep, disembowelling pregnant women and slaughtering them and their unborn babies, arbitrary arrests and detentions, dehumanising raids of residential areas in search of "Anglophones", mindless torture, extortions, and looting by La Rpublique du Cameroun troops, the genocide and extermination were well planned in advance. Professor Tatah Mentan argues that the bloodbath was designed with a clear kinetic theological foundation as its centrepiece. The theologians of the genocide were ironically not clerics. They were rather journalists and sycophantic pro-regime intellectuals who apparently served as the echo chamber of the Biya genocidal regime for his Hitler-like "Final Solution" to crush and assimilate "Anglophones" - the "rats", "cockroaches", "secessionists", "separatists", or "microbes" as they were stigmatised. The suffering inflicted by Hitler on Jews fell outside the realm of expression. Often depicted as the savage lunatic who plunged the world into World War II, Adolf Hitler's name has been on the tongues of historians, psychologists, economists, and laymen for ages. Similarly, President Paul Biya like Hitler the Monster is being depicted as the epitome of Lucifer himself. Finally, Professor Tatah Mentan concludes that the pandemic genocide and extermination of Ambazonians by La Rpublique du Cameroun gnocidaires can only be peacefully resolved by an internationally negotiated separation of both warring Former UN Category B Trust Territories.

Hitler and his extermination camps by samoht de jong Pdf

The NS regime tried at least in the spring to give the appearance of legality, while behind the facade of this apparent legality there was already terror and sheer arbitrariness. This endeavor was also pursued vis-à-vis foreign countries, until the Olympic Summer Games in 1936 were held, by being cosmopolitan, tolerant and peaceful. Only then did the gradual unmasking take place and the Nazi dictatorship showed its terrible grimace.

Long neglected by European historians, the unspeakable atrocities of Franco’s Spain are finally brought to tragic light in this definitive work. Evoking such classics as Anne Applebaum’s Gulag and Robert Conquest’s The Great Terror, The Spanish Holocaust sheds light on one of the darkest and most unexamined eras of modern European history. As Spain finally reclaims its historical memory, a full picture can now be drawn of the atrocities of Franco’s Spain—from torture and judicial murders to the abuse of women and children. Paul Preston provides an unforgettable account of the systematic terror carried out by Spain’s fascist government.
