Eternity and Eternal Life by Tibor Horvath Pdf

The Newtonian concept of time has been changed by Einsteinian insight. Yet the Einsteinian world view might make it difficult to appreciate traditional concepts of eschatology, like heaven and hell, death and immortality, life after death and resurrection, last day and final judgments, because these expressions presuppose a pre-Einsteinian view of the universe. Since theology cannot remain unaffected by the new research in concepts of time, Eternity and Eternal Life tries to express the eschatological faith of the Church by using the time language of our age. To achieve this it provides an overview on the research in the nature of time done in geology, cosmology, physics, biology, psychology, sociology, history and philosophy and proposes a notion of time for “timely” Christology and for “timely” eschatology. By using the singularity event as literary form, Horvath scrutinizes how Christ’s time can lead to the times of all existing realities, through death to “eternity.” This is a pioneering work, one that needs to be tested in the community of interested readers. It is a communal search for an understanding of life, death and eternal life, not only in the light of abstract ideas and cultural linguistic doctrines in the world of religions, but also in the light of science and especially of a person as the horizon of understanding for both time and eternity. Christ as the eschatological union of time and eternity becomes the work’s unifying focus and its paradigm, which solves recognized problems and opens our minds to new ones.

Eternity by Tony Evans Pdf

Heaven may not be what you think it is. We often think of heaven in two extremes: It’s either a dreamy existence where we float around on clouds with nothing much to do, or it’s something far off in the future that we don’t want to happen until we accomplish all that we want to in this life. Both of these are flat wrong, and Tony Evans looks to Scripture to set the record straight. Simple and straight-forward, Eternity is a short book on what eternity with God will really be like. “God hasn’t told us everything [about heaven],” writes Evans, “but Scripture gives us enough glimpses and enough promises about heaven for us to know we don’t want to miss this place of eternal joy.” Walk through Scripture with Evans as he plainly explains what heaven is like, who will be there, and what they’ll be doing. With engaging illustrations and practical insights, you’ll know what awaits believers forever and how that matters for life today.

Grounded for All Eternity by Darcy Marks Pdf

A group of kids from hell come to Earth on one of the craziest nights of the year—Halloween—in this “entertaining, high-octane” (Kirkus Reviews) middle grade adventure about teamwork, friendship, shattering expectations, and understanding the world (or otherworld) around us. Malachi and his friends are just your regular average kids from hell. The suburbs that is, not the fiery pit part. But when Hell’s Bells ring out—signaling that a soul has escaped from one of the eternal circles, Mal and his friends can’t help but take the opportunity for a little adventure. Before they know it, they’ve somehow slipped through the veil and found themselves in the middle of Salem, Massachusetts, on Halloween night. And what’s even worse, they’ve managed to bring the escaped soul with them! As the essence of one of history’s greatest manipulators gains power by shifting the balance on Earth, Mal and his squad-mates—along with some new friends that they meet along the way—work desperately to trap the escapee, save the people of Earth from the forces of evil, and find the portal back to their own dimension. If they can’t manage it before their parents realize they’re gone, they’ll be grounded for an eternity. And an eternity in hell is a very, very long time.

In the Hopeland by Mukayiranga Eugenie Pdf

Among the living, very few have died and come back to life. The wise among them use their second chance to prepare themselves and others for the moment when death comes back to take them for good. Author Eugenie Mukayiranga has experienced a reawakening from death and hopes to share what she has learned with others. Her out-of-body experiences were not only precious to her, but they also set her on a mission to get out and make sure that her story goes as far as possible. In her debut novel, In the Hopeland, Eugenie shares her transformative experience and hopes to use her second chance at life to share how she prepared herself for death by getting ready for eternal life with God. She uses her powerful voice to deliver the message that although death is unpredictable, we should not take any days for granted, we should strive to be our best, and we should take any opportunity given to us as potentially the last. Eugenie’s vision of life after death helps her to remain peaceful in stormy times, in the knowledge that God is watching and is sovereign in everything that happens. The promptness of the angels sent from heaven to care for Eugenie increased her faith in God abundantly! By sharing her story, Eugenie hopes to impart to all that God is the most powerful yet intimately acquainted Being to each one of us and that nothing can ever change that truth.

God and Eternity by James C. Barlow Pdf

What exactly is Time? Time has often been counterpoised by the notion of Eternity as just that place, wherever it is, that is "timeless." Recently some physicists have sought to comprehend the universe as just one among many, or has denied the existence of Time outright. Through a use of Friedrich Nietzsche's thought of the Eternal Recurrence of All Things once made compatible with Christian orthodoxy's notion of time and eternity, when combined with the latest in modern physics, the author posits here a new theory of Time that can account for human freedom in the midst of a deterministic world, while at the same time explaining the Uncertainty Principle and how Reality became what it is. With Time given ontological priority, all of our suspicions about lack of objectivity in scientific method are revealed as justified, while the hitherto indecipherable nature of the cosmos, and the role a Deity might have in it, are explained. "God and Eternity" is a brilliant intellectual tour de force that puts natural theology on an equal footing with post-modern wonderment and enlightenment at an historical moment when a host of crucial questions are being asked anew. JAMES BARLOW is Associate Professor of Philosophy at St. Andrew's College and Seminary, Lexington, North Carolina, and a Mathematics instructor at Nunavut Arctic College in Canada. He has studied and taught in the Philippines and Alaska in the United States. He currently lives in Iqaluit, on South Baffin Island, capital of the territory of Nunavut, Canada.
