Object-Oriented Programming Via Fortran 90/95 by J. E. Akin Pdf

Learn how to write technical applications in a modern object-oriented approach, using Fortran 90 or 95. This book will teach you how to stop focusing on the traditional procedural abilities of Fortran and to employ the principles of object-oriented programming to produce clear, highly efficient executable codes. In addition to covering the OOP methodologies the book also covers the basic foundation of the language and good programming skills. The author highlights common themes by using comparisons with Matlab and C++ and uses numerous cross-referenced examples to convey all concepts quickly and clearly. Complete code for the examples is included on the book's web site.

Introducing Fortran 90 by Ian D. Chivers,Jane Sleightholme Pdf

This book has evolved from our combined experience of working in computing services at the University of London (for the last nine years at King's College, and before that eight years at Imperial College and seven at Chelsea College) in the teaching, advice and technical support of Fortran and related areas. Thanks are due to:- • the staff and students at King's College London - without them none of this would have been possible; also the support and facilities provided by the Computer Centre; • the patience of our families during the lengthy period required to develop the courses upon which this book is based and whilst preparing the camera ready copy; • the staff at NAG, Salford Fortran and DEC for their support. Special thanks to Steve Lionel at DEC and Tim Bartle at Salford for the opportunity to take part in the beta testing of the Alpha compiler and the Salford Nag compiler respectively. The lessons to be learnt from moving programs between the three compilers were invaluable; • the people on comp. lang. fortran and the specialist Fortran 90 list.

This edition has been revised to stress the use of modern Fortran throughout: Key features: lots of clear, simple and complete examples highlighting the, core language features of modern Fortran including data typing, array processing, control structures functions, subroutines, user defined types and pointers, pinpoints common problems that occur when programming, has sample output from a variety of compilers, expands on the first edition, by introducing modules as soon as the fundamental language features have been covered. Modules are the major organisational feature of Fortran and are the equivalent of classes in other languages, major new features covered in this edition include, introduction to object oriented programming in Fortran introduction to parallel programming in Fortran using MPI, OpenMP and Coarray Fortra, this edition has three target audiences the complete beginner existing Fortran programmers wishing to update their code those with programming experience in other languages Ian Chivers and Jane Sleightholme are the joint owners of comp-fortran-90 which is a lively forum for the exchange of technical details of the Fortran language. Ian is the editor of the ACM Fortran Forum and both Jane and Ian have both been involved in the Fortran standardisation process. The authors have been teaching and supporting Fortran and related areas for over 30 years and their latest book reflects the lessons that have been learnt from this.

Numerical Algorithms with Fortran by Gisela Engeln-Müllges,Frank Uhlig Pdf

This comprehensive handbook gives an informal introduction to mathematical and computational principles governing numerical analysis, as well as practical guidelines for using over 130 elaborate numerical analysis routines. It develops detailed formulas for both standard and rarely found algorithms, including many variants for linear and non-linear equation solvers, one- and two-dimensional splines of various kinds, numerical quadrature and cubature formulas of all known stable orders, and stable IVP and BVP solvers, even for stiff systems of differential equations. The descriptions of the algorithms are very detailed and focus on their implementation, giving sensible decision criteria to choose among the algorithms and describing the merits and demerits of each one. "Numerical Algorithms with Fortran" is a depository of highly useful and effective algorithms and codes for the scientist and engineer who needs to have direct access to such algorithms. The programs have been widely field tested. The enclosed CD-ROM contains all computer codes, both for Fortran 77 and compatible with Fortran 90, a compiler, and a test bed of programs and data for most algorithms. Each program includes detailed comments and describes available options, all clearly marked, with a complete list of error codes, etc.

Numerical Computing with Modern Fortran by Richard J. Hanson,Tim Hopkins Pdf

The Fortran language standard has undergone significant upgrades in recent years (1990, 1995, 2003, and 2008). Numerical Computing with Modern Fortran illustrates many of these improvements through practical solutions to a number of scientific and engineering problems. Readers will discover techniques for modernizing algorithms written in Fortran; examples of Fortran interoperating with C or C++ programs, plus using the IEEE floating-point standard for efficiency; illustrations of parallel Fortran programming using coarrays, MPI, and OpenMP; and a supplementary website with downloadable source codes discussed in the book.

COMPUTER PROGRAMMING IN FORTRAN 90 AND 95 by V. RAJARAMAN Pdf

This book introduces Computer Programming to a beginner, using Fortran 90 and its recent extension Fortran 95. While Fortran 77 has been used for many years and is currently very popular, computer scientists have been seriously concerned about good programming practice to promote development of reliable programs. Thus, the International Standards Organization set up a group to 'modernise' Fortran and introduce new features which have made languages such as Pascal and C popular. The committee took over a decade to come up with the new standard, Fortran 90. Fortran 90 has introduced many new features in Fortran, such as recursion, pointers, user-defined data types etc., which were hitherto available only in languages such as Pascal and C. Fortran 90 is not an evolutionary change of Fortran 77 but is drastically different. Though Fortran 77 programs can be run using a Fortran 90 compiler, Fortran 90 is so different that the author felt it was not a good idea to just revise Fortran 77 and introduce Fortran 90 in some places in the book. Thus this book is entirely new and introduces Fortran 90 from basics. In 1996 some small extensions were made to Fortran 90 and has called Fortran 95. This book also discusses these features. As all new programs in Fortran will henceforth be written in Fortran 90, it is essential for students to learn this language. The methodology of presentation, however, closely follows the one used by the author in his popular book on Fortran 77.
