Founding People Matter by Devendra N Mehta Pdf

The judges and the judiciary—the entire court system and the school boards/school system cannot be elective positions—these have to be selective positions from the lowest rung of the ladder with retirement age—selected and promoted in the hierarchy on the basis of merit and performance fitting their professions and strictly academic and true to their faculties—nothing to do with party politics or any other political interest. The judges and the judiciary and education are not here to promote party politics—they are here to promote their professions. Only The President, federal legislature, state legislatures and city councils can be political party based elective positions—none other. In America, our stores are full of goods “made in China”— in the Home Depots, Macy’s, Walmarts, Targets, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Best Buy’s, furniture stores, shoe stores, apparel stores etc. Also all sorts of electronic goods ranging from Apple iPhones, iPads, Mac Books, other computers, TV sets; even steel, some cars; pharmaceuticals—a lot of these we order online and on Amazon—all are made in China. As a result of all this, the American people’s money, jobs, industries and factories, manufacturing skills and know-how are lost to China. Thus, China has become richer with American people’s money while America becomes poorer; China becomes stronger while America becomes weaker. China’s military power around the world rises, whereas America’s power is reduced. China also steals American research, technology, intellectual property through its students attending American universities and colleges. If this situation is not reversed China will terrorize America and the world. This Book is about reversing that situation.

Planning as if People Matter by Marc Brenman,Thomas W. Sanchez Pdf

American communities are changing fast: ethnic minority populations are growing, home ownership is falling, the number of people per household is going up, and salaries are going down. According to Marc Brenman and Thomas W. Sanchez, the planning field is largely unprepared for these fundamental shifts. If planners are going to adequately serve residents of diverse ages, races, and income levels, they need to address basic issues of equity. Planning as if People Matter offers practical solutions to make our communities more livable and more equitable for all residents. While there are many books on environmental justice, relatively few go beyond theory to give real-world examples of how better planning can level inequities. In contrast, Planning as if People Matter is written expressly for planning practitioners, public administrators, policy-makers, activists, and students who must directly confront these challenges. It provides new insights about familiar topics such as stakeholder participation and civil rights. And it addresses emerging issues, including disaster response, new technologies, and equity metrics. Far from an academic treatment, Planning as if People Matter is rooted in hard data, on-the-ground experience, and current policy analysis. In this tumultuous period of economic change, there has never been a better time to reform the planning process. Brenman and Sanchez point the way toward a more just social landscape.

People Matter to God by Jack Redmond Pdf

Many people in today's society are passionately looking for answers to life's difficult questions. Others are trying to connect with a God that they don't understand. The good news is that there are answers to life's toughest questions and that people matter to God more than they could ever know or understand. People Matter to God will help people understand how valuable and important they are to God and to others. Once individuals understand how much they matter, the true adventure begins. Soon, God will show, lead, direct, and encourage them to live their life's plan and purpose. There is also a fundamental shift that must take place where we must realize that part of our own great adventure is helping others understand that they matter to God. People Matter to God is about personal transformation for ourselves and for those that we touch in our lives each day. JACK REDMOND is founder and president of Fourth Generation Ministries. His greatest passion is to train, teach, and send people into everyday situations to share the love and power of Jesus with the world. For this to happen, individuals must first RECEIVE things like forgiveness, love, healing, wisdom, and direction from God. Then they must GROW in the understanding and power of these and other things. The next vital step is for these individuals to GIVE AWAY these things to others. When this pattern continues to repeat itself, the foundation is set for families, churches, communities, and nations to be changed. Jack is a frequent speaker at churches, conferences, and leadership trainings on the local, regional, and national level. He serves on the staff of Christ Church in Montclair, N.J., as the Director of Impact Youth Ministry. Learn more about Jack and Fourth Generation Ministries at http: //www.4thgen.org

Why People Matter by John F. Kilner Pdf

Amid current arguments related to human life and dignity, Christians must be clear about how their faith speaks to such concerns and what other outlooks have to say. This book brings together noted ethicists--Russell DiSilvestro, David P. Gushee, Amy Laura Hall, John F. Kilner, Gilbert C. Meilaender, Scott B. Rae, and Patrick T. Smith--to make a Christian case for human dignity. It offers a robust critique of five influential alternative positions, including the emerging outlook of transhumanism, showing how a Christian view supports the crucial idea that people matter in a way other views cannot.

History in Management and Organization Studies by Behlül Üsdiken,Matthias Kipping Pdf

There has, in recent times, been an increasing interest in history, broadly defined, among management scholars. But what specifically a historical approach or perspective can contribute to research on organizational fields, organizations, strategy etc. and how exactly such historical research should be carried out remain questions that have been answered only partially, if at all. Building on the authors’ prior and ongoing work, History in Management and Organization Studies: From Margins to Mainstream is unique in presenting a comprehensive and integrated view of how history has informed management research with a focus on organization theory and strategy. More specifically, the volume provides an overview of how the relationship been history and management scholarship has evolved from the 19th century until today, focusing mainly on the post-World War II period; and systematically surveys the kind of research programs within organization theory and strategy that have used historical data and/or history as a theoretical construct, while also identifying the remaining "blind spots". As a whole, it offers a kind of roadmap for management scholars and historians to situate their research and, hopefully, find new roads for others to travel. The book is intended for anybody conducting or planning to conduct historical research within management and organization studies, and aims, in particular, at becoming a standard feature of research methods courses in business schools and departments of management.

Founders at Work by Jessica Livingston Pdf

Now available in paperback—with a new preface and interview with Jessica Livingston about Y Combinator! Founders at Work: Stories of Startups' Early Days is a collection of interviews with founders of famous technology companies about what happened in the very earliest days. These people are celebrities now. What was it like when they were just a couple friends with an idea? Founders like Steve Wozniak (Apple), Caterina Fake (Flickr), Mitch Kapor (Lotus), Max Levchin (PayPal), and Sabeer Bhatia (Hotmail) tell you in their own words about their surprising and often very funny discoveries as they learned how to build a company. Where did they get the ideas that made them rich? How did they convince investors to back them? What went wrong, and how did they recover? Nearly all technical people have thought of one day starting or working for a startup. For them, this book is the closest you can come to being a fly on the wall at a successful startup, to learn how it's done. But ultimately these interviews are required reading for anyone who wants to understand business, because startups are business reduced to its essence. The reason their founders become rich is that startups do what businesses do—create value—more intensively than almost any other part of the economy. How? What are the secrets that make successful startups so insanely productive? Read this book, and let the founders themselves tell you.

Positive Psychology for Overcoming Depression by Miriam Akhtar Pdf

According to the World Health Organization, 350 million people worldwide currently suffer from depression. This book is aimed at anyone suffering mild to moderate episodes who would like to help themselves get better using natural anti-depressants. After all, happiness is not a spectator sport. The text explains key strategies to help you not only overcome depression but also reduce the chances of it occurring or recurring. As such, it acts as both prevention and cure. As you practise the simple yet highly effective exercises, you will find your mood lifting, your confidence, resilience, positivity and strength growing, and your outlook becoming more optimistic. These strategies come from a combination of the author's professional knowledge and practice, and her background as someone who has suffered from depression herself. Miriam begins by explaining the core principles of Positive Psychology – what it takes to feel good, function well and flourish. She then goes on to focus on how the scientifically-grounded techniques of Positive Psychology, such as learning to savour positive events, practising gratitude, playing to your strengths and learning optimism, can help to prevent visits from the dreaded 'black dog' and, ultimately, allow the sun to shine on your life once more.
