Appliqué all things Frog by Mabel Dawn Van Niekerk Pdf
Frogs are relatively easy to draw and appliqué. In different shapes and sizes they make lovely motifs for appliqué both for children and household items. I have drawn a number of frog designs which will be sure to take your fancy. There is no need to stick to green and brown fabric for your frogs, use any color you wish. I think floral and patterned frogs are most adorable. Use the templates printed in this book and create a baby cot quilt, cushion and lampshade covers.
A collection of fifty of the author's bedtime stories, originally told to his children, which have been published in various newspapers in Florida and Georgia.
Summer has begun, the beach is calling . . . . . . but Francesca Schnell is going nowhere. Four years ago, Francesca’s little brother, Simon, drowned when she should have been watching. Now she is about to turn sixteen, but guilt keeps her stuck in the past. Meanwhile, her best friend is moving on—with the boy Francesca secretly wants—and her father may be having an affair. Then Francesca begins babysitting Frankie Sky, a four-year-old who bears an almost eerie resemblance to Simon. She even wonders if Frankie could be Simon’s reincarnation. Their surprising friendship helps Francesca think she might begin to forgive herself, grow up, and even fall in love, whether or not she solves the riddle of Frankie Sky. “Resonates with real feeling.” —The New York Times Book Review “Haunting, heart-lifting, and impossible to put down.” —A. Wanda's Wittle Wunders by Wanda Deborah Wanda,Deborah Wanda Pdf
This book was designed to teach and also to entertain. Children will learn their ABC's. They will learn how and where animals live and all about their environments. It will also teach children, and adults, why animals are so different from each other and what makes each one unique. It is important that children learn that animals have feelings and personalities, too! One more note: this book makes a great collection of bedtime short stories.
Short-Short Stories: for Readers Short of Time is a compilation of 61 ultra-short stories two pages or less in length. These are in marked contrast to "regular" short stories that average 12 to 16 pages and may extend to a whopping 30 to 40 pages. If you're like the author, you're especially open to brief jolts of literature that consume only a few minutes -or even less-each. In our fast-paced society, economy of words while reading-and writing-is correspondingly appropriate. Snatch a sampling of stories when riding on short-duration bus, train, and car trips; waiting for a dentist or physician; and maybe even while on a commode. A re-read of a story may provide an added benefit. In this book you will find the short-short stories to be highly varied. Read about a woman having to learn wildflower names from her fiancee; the dwarf planet Pluto's complaint of losing its planet's status; a snake-fearing woman who prefers her snakes having legs; and a nearly 80-year-old fiddler worried about contracting AIDS from "bad blood" during bypass surgery. The photographs are meant to complement the stories. But they can be appreciated on their own merits. You will note that their titles differ from those of the stories.
This manuscript is one of kind, nothing has ever been written like it before, the story begins in 1941 with the first memory I can date and what I remember and explains why I grew up so completely different from the majority of other children that I went to school with. I begin in Petaluma California as a small boy and continue through the years telling of the hardships, struggles and sorrows my family and relatives faced as they worked and camped in the different orchards on Highway 99 or the 101 and barely making enough money to feed them and buy gas to the next job. Then during the winter each year Dad worked on chicken ranches or such until the spring when we would start all over again. That happened until the summer of 1949 when my family settled in Yountville California and where the story ends when I joined the Navy at age seventeen on the 18th of January 1955.
