This publication, which is the first part of a forthcoming ILO Toolkit on Gender Mainstreaming in the World of Work, presents a selection of practices which have been found to promote gender equality in their respective areas. The promotion of gender equality in the world of work is enshrined in the ILO constitution and is integral to its 'Decent Work Agenda'.
