Geology and Mineral Deposits of the Quesnel River, Horsefly Map Area, Central Quesnel Trough, British Columbia by Andrejs Panteleyev Pdf

Since 1859, the central Quesnel belt region of interior British Columbia has been the site of significant placer gold production. The identification of bedrock source areas for the placer gold and definition of the various mineral deposit types in this region are the main objectives of this field study. The study describes the regional geology, the geology of the central Quesnel belt (sedimentary units, volcanic successions, overlap units, continental clastic and volcanic deposits, intrusive suites), the region's geochronology and palaeontology, geochemistry, geologic structure, and metamorphism. It concludes with a section on economic geology of the region, discussing lode deposits, placer gold deposits, and regional geochemical studies.

Bedrock Geology of the Germansen Landing - Manson Creek Area, British Columbia (94N/9, 10, 15; 94C/2) by Filippo Ferri,British Columbia. Geological Survey Branch,David M. Melville,British Columbia. Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources Pdf

Mapping in the Manson Creek-Germansen Landing area was undertaken to provide a detailed geological database for a belt of rocks long known to host lode gold and base metal occurrences. The project produced 1:50,000-scale geological maps for all or part of map sheets 93N/9, 93N/10, 93N/15, and 94C/2; revised the mineral inventory database; placed known mineral occurrences within a geological framework; and augmented existing coverage or initiated new surveys in areas lacking previous coverage. The report describes the geographic setting and framework and exploration history; lithologic units; structure; metamorphism; economic geology; and geological synthesis.

The Stikine Project by Derek Anthony Brown,Michael H. Gunning,Charles J. Greig Pdf

The Stikine project area covers part of a mineral-rich belt near the Alaska panhandle/British Columbia border. The area includes important precious and base metal deposits such as Eskay Creek, and was selected for this study due to its high mineral potential and outdated geological database. This report, the result of four seasons of mapping in the area (1988-91), describes the area's regional tectonic setting and stratigraphy, intrusive rocks, structural geology and metamorphism, and economic geology (types of mineral deposits, timing of regional metallogenic events, isotope geology, exploration activity, mineral potential).

A Mineral Resource Assessment of the Chilko Lake Planning Area by British Columbia. Geological Survey Branch,British Columbia. Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources,Graeme Peter McLaren,Canada/British Columbia Mineral Development Agreement,Canada. Energy, Mines and Resources Canada Pdf

The Chilko Lake planning area encompasses a portion of the transition zone between the mountains of the Coast Ranges and the rolling terrain of the interior plateau in south-central B.C. It comprises an area of high wildlife and recreational resource values that have long been studied as a candidate for a provincial park with a region of high mineral potential. This mineral resource assessment was undertaken to determine the mineral potential of the planning area in detail. A program of 1:50,000 scale geological mapping, detailed stream-sediment sampling, and prospecting with extensive rock chip sampling was conducted to identify the mineral potential.

Classification, Distribution, and Grade-tonnage Summaries of Canadian Lead-zinc Deposits by D. F. Sangster Pdf

A summary overview of certain quantifiable characteristics of Canadianlead-zinc deposits and occurrences is presented by means of maps, graphs andexplanatory text. A total of 378 lead-zinc deposits, defined as mineralconcentrations for which grade and tonnage data are available for theseelements, are assigned to one of six deposit-type categories. Deposits areplotted on a 1:5 million scale geological map with symbols depicting deposit-type, total (Pb+Zn) content, and Zn/(Zn+Pb) ratio. The 4900 lead-zinc occurrences (no grade-tonnage data available) are displayed as adensity contour map. Appendices list (i) deposits by type withcross-referencing by name and deposit-number including latitude, longitudeand National Topographic System location data for each deposit, (ii) deposits alphabetically by deposit-type; and (iii) selected bibliographicreferences for each deposit for a total of 748 citations.
