Get Up and Groove! by Joey L. Dowdy Pdf

Are you’re tired of sitting around every day thinking about, feeling, and doing the same old boring things. Which often leads to you getting no where? If so, it’s time for a new direction and change. It’s time to get your Mind in Gear and Your Body in Motion. It’s time to “Get Up & Groove!” This book under my instruction will help you do just that by showing you how to “Put Your Groove Into Action.” However, first, please allow me to introduce myself. I ‘m Joey L. Dowdy Choreographer/Instructor/ and Fitness Motivator. I will be your narrator and personal guide. I am so excited to share with you my unique principles and techniques that I’ve assembled together from many years of being a professional Dancer, Performing/Artist, Instructor and fitness motivator. Let me just say, I feel so fortunate and thankful to be able to do what I love. As well as I love what I do. My goal is to help others, just like you, learn how to do the same. It’s to help you find, love, and live your passion towards a fulfilled life. Why? It’s because far too often I witness people who are bound by limits and are living way below their capabilities. Yet what’s astounding is they don’t even realize it. They don’t seem to realize the only limits that exist are the ones they’ve created for themselves. So that’s where I come in, I want to help them discover and reach their fullest potential. I do this by using proven movement techniques that has helped me as well a countless other’s achieve their successes. There’s a quote that states, “The person who says it can’t be done is usually interrupted by someone doing it”. I love this quote; it’s one of my favorite. It’s so true because doing it means, “Taking Action.” And that’s what Get Up & Groove Motivational Movement techniques book series is all about. It’s about taking control of your life through the exploration of movement and its many active methods. It’s because movement is ever so present in our daily lives and practices. It affects everything we do from the way we think, talk, walk, feel, act, eat and look. When used effectively in a positive and productive manner, it has a magic touch that we simply can’t live without it. It has the power to stimulate, encourage, intrigue, uplift and keep us inspired. That’s why it critical you jump on board this “Groove Train” and take a journey that’s sure to saturate (the non –fat version of course) your Mind, Body and SOUL. The first book of the series is entitled, “Step Into Greatness! Perform!” It’s where dancespiration meets transformation, true stories about real people who took the step and made the change that lead them to transform their lives. So if you’re looking for a “Groove to Improve” your life this book leads the way to infectious inspiration that will make you “Get Up Out of Your Seat and On Your Feet!”

Children’s Lifeworlds in a Global City: Singapore by Li Mei Johannah Soo,Nanthini Karthikeyan,Kam Ming Lim,Clare Bartholomaeus,Nicola Yelland Pdf

This book examines connections between policy contexts, school experiences and everyday activities of children growing up in the global city of Singapore. In particular, it explores how Singapore children’s everyday experiences inside and outside of school shape their orientations towards educational success. Alongside an analysis of school life and educational policies, it also considers children’s out-of-school activities, including leisure, homework, and enrichment activities, and connections between these and their school-based activities. The book draws on empirical data from Primary 4 classes in two Singapore schools in the form of student-completed surveys, classroom ethnographies, student responses to a learning dialogues activity, and a re-enactment of one child's out-of-school life, as well as curriculum and policy analysis. It provides readers with an in-depth understanding of Singapore Primary 4 children’s experiences inside and outside of school, including the structure of timetables and pedagogical approaches encountered in school lessons, children’s enjoyment of activities inside and outside of school, children’s engagement and wellbeing at school, and the impact of Singapore’s educational policies on children’s learning experiences. Moving beyond a simplistic focus on Singapore children’s academic performance in international high-stakes testing, the book offers a comprehensive exploration of their lives inside and outside of school. This holistic approach is unique in the Singapore context and contributes to a greater understanding of children’s everyday lives in the city.

Reid tells the life story of a humble musician, written in a familiar, conversational tone that reveals Tjader's complex charisma. Tjader left behind a legacy and a labyrinth of influence, attested by his large audience and innovation that would change the course of jazz. The Musical Child by Joan Koenig Pdf

A pioneering music educator reveals how music can supercharge early childhood development--and how parents and educators can harness its power. Since opening her famed Parisian conservatory over three decades ago, Joan Koenig has led a global movement to improve children's lives and minds with the transformative power of music. With a curriculum and philosophy drawn from cutting-edge science, L'Ecole Koenig has educated and empowered even its youngest students, from baby Max, whose coordination and communication grow as he wiggles and coos along to targeted songs and dance, to five-year-old Constance, who nourishes her empathy, creativity, and memory while practicing music from other cultures. In The Musical Child, Koenig shares stories from her classrooms, along with tips about how to use the latest research during the critical years when children are most sensitive to musical exposure--and most receptive to its benefits. A gift for parents, caregivers, musicians, and educators, The Musical Child reveals the multiple ways music can help children thrive--and how, in the twenty-first century, its practice is more vital than ever.

Addicted To Noise by Michael Goldberg Pdf

Addicted to Noise collects the best interviews, profiles, and essays Michael Goldberg has written during his forty-plus years as a journalist. From combative interviews with Frank Zappa and Tom Waits to essays on how Jack Kerouac influenced Bob Dylan and the lasting importance of San Francisco’s first punk rock club, Goldberg, as novelist Dana Spiotta wrote, “shows us how consequential music can be.” Contained within these pages: interviews with Sleater-Kinney, Sonic Youth, Patti Smith, Lou Reed, Flipper, John Fogerty, Neil Young, and Rick James, along with profiles of Robbie Robertson, John Lee Hooker, James Brown, the Clash, Prince, Michael Jackson, the Flamin’ Groovies, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, X, Laurie Anderson, Stevie Wonder, George Clinton, Devo, San Francisco punks Crime, and more. Plus short takes on Muddy Waters, Townes Van Zandt, Captain Beefheart, Professor Longhair, and others. As Greil Marcus writes in the Foreword, “You can feel the atmosphere: someone has walked into a room with a pencil in his hand—as the words go in perhaps the first song about a music critic, not counting Chuck Berry’s aside about the writers at the rhythm reviews—and suddenly people are relaxed . . . He isn’t after your secrets. He doesn’t want to ruin your career to make his. He doesn’t care what you think you need to hide. He actually is interested in why and how you make your music and what you think of it. So people open up, very quickly, and, very quickly, as a reader, you’re not reading something you’ve read before.”
