The Love of Loves in the Song of Songs by Philip Graham Ryken Pdf
We live in a world where sexuality is ruined by sin, its beauty obscured by our brokenness. We need a divine vision for the way love was meant to be, with a gospel that offers forgiveness for sin and grace to live in the way that God has made us to be. In the Song of Songs, we encounter a love story that is part of the greatest love story ever told. Philip Ryken walks through this biblical love poem verse by verse, reflecting on what the Bible says about God's design for love, intimacy, and sexuality and offering insights into not only human relationships but also our relationship to God himself—learning more about the One who has loved us with an everlasting love.
Many Christians who live in a sterile, duty-bound relationship with God long to experience his love. They are surprised to find what precious truths abound in the Song of Solomon. And they are amazed to realize that its theme of bridal love is appropriately applied to the relationship of the Lord to each one of us, male or female, single or married. Capturing the lyrical beauty of this greatest of all love songs, Mulloy effectively communicates-through gracious exposition, examples, application questions, and prayers-God's immeasurable love for every believer. For, as Mulloy explains, each of us yearns to be known and cherished as his irreplaceable treasure. Divine Love Song is designed for individual or group study and is also an effective counseling resource.
You Don't Get Your Own Personal Jesus by J.D. Greear Pdf
Jesus cannot be dismissed as one in a long line of religious gurus peddling peace, fulfillment, and a better version of yourself. You Don’t Get Your Own Personal Jesus, excerpted from J.D. Greear’s book Not God Enough, captures the liberating truth that God is exactly who he says he is. You may prefer a God who is small, safe, and domesticated, a God who thinks like you think and likes what you like. You may prefer a God you can manage, predict, and control. But what if this small version of God is holding you back from genuine, confident, world-transforming faith? God is not just a slightly better, slightly smarter version of you. He is infinite and glorious, and an encounter with him won’t just change the way you think about your faith. It will change your entire life.
God's Love Song by Murray Bodo,Susan Saint Sing Pdf
The Canticle of the Creatures “is Francis’s love song. It is Franciscan wholeness, for in it is contained the depth of his prayer and of his life in Christ. In its singing he was singing his dying and his rising, for his song was a journey of praise and thanksgiving for his place of origin and his destination, the Most High, All-Powerful, Good Lord.”—Murray Bodo Using St. Francis’s canticle as a framework, Murray Bodo, a Franciscan friar, and Susan Saint Sing, a secular Franciscan, reflect on the vision of Francis and Clare as it has played out over the course of their own lives. Susan’s experiences of healing during trips to Assisi and praying in nature and Murray’s deep understanding of Francis and Clare as poets and mystics come together in a duet that brings God’s love song to life. These deeply personal reflections explore the power of prayer and meditation, the sacredness of all creation, and the pull of sacred places. This meditative, reflective reading experience conveys what a lifetime of Franciscan spirituality looks like and will draw you into exploring your own experience of the vision of Francis and Clare.

There are many types of love songs: songs of those who want to be in love, other songs of those who are in love, while still others that are about those who have fallen out of love or lost their love and have a broken heart. But the greatest of all love songs are those to God: those that rejoice constantly in his presence and his unconditional acceptance of us as we are. The sonnets in this book are devotionals to God and his intimate relationship with us throughout our lives. They are love songs that sing of his undying love for us. They are songs that are sung with all our heart.
These love songs are, of course, Sufi poems, and a few odds and ends formed out of that same Source of all joy. They follow no formal rhyme or metre, except when they do, and have only the path of love as a common theme.
