Gsp by Georges St-Pierre Pdf

An intimate, human and philosophical look at the life of the UFC world champion—his journey from years of bullying to the very top of the world of mixed martial arts As the world’s most popular UFC fighter, Georges “Rush” St-Pierre seems almost impossibly tough and dominant. But long before he was “GSP,” as his millions of fans know him, he was just a kid harassed by bullies. But he was also a kid who, thanks to years of practicing martial arts, invented his own way of life. He became a black belt in karate at the age of 12. In his later teens, working as a garbage collector to finance his unique and innovative training methods, GSP learned from repeated losses and ultimately found a way to triumph in a highly competitive field. Along the way, he discovered a simple truth: never stop reaching for your goal. With startling honesty, GSP relates the true story of growing up in the martial arts and discovering that his passion for learning and constant improvement makes him happy. By way of fighting, he’s discovered how to succeed; by way of injury, how to maintain perspective on that success. This book highlights the lessons that brought him there, the unique system he invented to combine various forms of fighting arts, and the key people who helped make him world champion.

Economic Impact of the Withdrawal of the GSP on Singapore by Mun Heng Toh,Linda Low Pdf

This study is part of an ESCAP/UNCTAD/UNDP regional project. The objectives for the Singapore case-study include identifying the products affected by the GSP withdrawal and assessing how Singapore can regain its competitiveness, which may involve the restructuring of such industries and, if need be, also relocation. First, the economic impact of the pre-graduation country scenario is analysed in terms of composition and structure of GSP exports, GSP export growth, and market shares. This covers overall GSP performance as well as GSP exports to the United States. This is followed by an analysis of the post-graduation country scenario, that is, the economic impact after the withdrawal of the U.S. GSP in 1989. The policy implications and options at both the government and business sector levels are assessed and the conclusions of the study, which may be useful to other target countries, are also provided.

Degree 16 Standard L-function of GSp(2) XGSp(2) by Dihua Jiang Pdf

Automorphic L-functions, introduced by Robert Langlands in the 1960s, are natural extensions of such classical L-functions as the Riemann zeta function, Hecke L-functions, etc. They form an important part of the Langlands Program, which seeks to establish connections among number theory, representation theory, and geometry. This book offers, via the Rankin-Selberg method, a thorough and comprehensive examination of the degree 16 standard L-function of the product of two rank two symplectic similitude groups, which includes the study of the global integral of Rankin-Selberg type and local integrals, analytic properties of certain Eisenstein series of symplectic groups, and the relevant residue representations.

Local Newforms for GSp(4) by Brooks Roberts,Ralf Schmidt Pdf

Local Newforms for GSp(4) describes a theory of new- and oldforms for representations of GSp(4) over a non-archimedean local field. This theory considers vectors fixed by the paramodular groups, and singles out certain vectors that encode canonical information, such as L-factors and epsilon-factors, through their Hecke and Atkin-Lehner eigenvalues. While there are analogies to the GL(2) case, this theory is novel and unanticipated by the existing framework of conjectures. An appendix includes extensive tables about the results and the representation theory of GSp(4).

Endoscopy for GSp(4) and the Cohomology of Siegel Modular Threefolds by Rainer Weissauer Pdf

The geometry of modular curves and the structure of their cohomology groups have been a rich source for various number-theoretical applications over the last decades. Similar applications may be expected from the arithmetic of higher dimensional modular varieties. For Siegel modular threefolds some basic results on their cohomology groups are derived in this book from considering topological trace formulas.
