How to Alleviate Digital Transformation Debt by Setrag Khoshafian Pdf

2020 - the year of the COVID-19 pandemic - changed everything. Its ripple effects will be felt for many years to come. At the same time there have been incredible advances in digitization. We are amid a digital revolution with unprecedented innovations. The pandemic has accelerated the requirements for "Digital Transformation." Organizations need to adopt and transform to survive and hopefully thrive. At the core of digitization there is very much an underlying principle of "debt." It comes originally from what Is called "technical debt." Simply, technical debt "reflects the implied cost of additional rework caused by choosing an easy solution now instead of using a better approach that would take longer." Difficult transformative choices need to be made now - especially post-COVID-19. If an organization ignores digital transformation for "easy solutions", the "debt" accumulates and can have disastrous consequences. The pandemic has accelerated the accumulation of digital transformation debt! It has also provided an opportunity to thrive in the post-COVID-19 era. What does Digital Transformation mean? What are the opportunities? What are the core digital technologies? What are the best practices? What are practical recommendations to alleviate the Digital Transformation Debt!? This book addresses Digital Transformation Debt holistically and makes recommendations on how to alleviate the debt.

21st Century Burning Bushes by Dr. Setrag Khoshafian Pdf

21st Century Burning Bushes series is about the incredible, the unusual, the wonderful, the miraculous as well as the strange, the terrifying, the surprising, the horrific, and the signs that are all around us - all amazing Burning Bushes. We have a choice - as non-Christians, Christians, or even congregations and churches. Will we turn aside and examine what these Burning Bushes mean? What are they saying, and how are they connected? Or will we retire in the comfort of the familiar - in our bubbles? These Burning Bushes have been around for centuries - even millennia. Nevertheless, in the 21st century, their brightness and frequency are increasing. It is critical for us to be aware, prepared, and amazed. More importantly, we need to be operational: turn around and examine the implications and act accordingly. The Creator is speaking through these Burning Bushes. They all point to the nature and character of our Lord Jesus Christ. They are all pre-cursors to a final showdown. Each chapter of the book series (there will be four volumes, Lord willing) uncovers a Burning Bush and delves deep into its ramification and affinity with other Burning Bushes. Also, each chapter provides pragmatic recommendations for action.

The Lean Approach to Digital Transformation by Yves Caseau Pdf

The Lean Approach to Digital Transformation: From Customer to Code and From Code to Customer is organized into three parts that expose and develop the three capabilities that are essential for a successful digital transformation: 1. Understanding how to co-create digital services with users, whether they are customers or future customers. This ability combines observation, dialogue, and iterative experimentation. The approach proposed in this book is based on the Lean Startup approach, according to an extended vision that combines Design Thinking and Growth Hacking. Companies must become truly "customer-centric", from observation and listening to co-development. The revolution of the digital age of the 21st century is that customer orientation is more imperative -- the era of abundance, usages rate of change, complexity of experiences, and shift of power towards communities -- are easier, using digital tools and digital communities. 2. Developing an information system (IS) that is the backbone of the digital transformation – called “exponential information system” to designate an open IS (in particular on its borders), capable of interfacing and combining with external services, positioned as a player in software ecosystems and built for processing scalable and dynamic data flows. The exponential information system is constantly changing and it continuously absorbs the best of information processing technology, such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. 3. Building software “micro-factories” that produce service platforms, which are called “Lean software factories.” This “software factory” concept covers the integration of agile methods, tooling and continuous integration and deployment practices, a customer-oriented product approach, and a platform approach based on modularity, as well as API-based architecture and openness to external stakeholders. This software micro-factory is the foundation that continuously produces and provides constantly evolving services. These three capabilities are not unique or specific to this book, they are linked to other concepts such as agile methods, product development according to lean principles, software production approaches such as CICD (continuous integration and deployment) or DevOps. This book weaves a common frame of reference for all these approaches to derive more value from the digital transformation and to facilitate its implementation. The title of the book refers to the “lean approach to digital transformation” because the two underlying frameworks, Lean Startup and Lean Software Factory, are directly inspired by Lean, in the sense of the Toyota Way. The Lean approach is present from the beginning to the end of this book -- it provides the framework for customer orientation and the love of a job well done, which are the conditions for the success of a digital transformation.

The Digital Transformation Roadmap by David L. Rogers Pdf

Today, every business is talking about digital transformation. With the acceleration of new technologies, every organization knows it must adapt to survive. But by their own admission, 70 percent of businesses are failing to transform. Across industries, established companies are held back by bureaucracy, inertia, and old ways of working. How can businesses break through to drive real change? The Digital Transformation Roadmap provides every leader with the answer. Acclaimed author and C-suite advisor David L. Rogers argues that businesses must transform not just products and business models—they must transform the organization itself. Based on two decades of research and advising companies around the world, Rogers identifies the five biggest barriers to digital transformation: vision, priorities, experimentation, governance, and capabilities. He then shows how any business can evolve by heeding the lessons of companies such as Disney, Walmart, Mastercard, Air Liquide, and the New York Times Company. The Digital Transformation Roadmap provides a practical blueprint for organizational change, illustrated with real-world case studies and step-by-step planning tools. Rogers shows every leader how to think beyond the churn of new technologies and rebuild their organization for a world of constant change.
