How to earn a billion or the intellectual capital of an entrepreneur by Gribov, Andrey Yu. Pdf

This book was written for millionaires. Using systems analysis it shows the necessary and sufficient elements of the intellectual capital of an entrepreneur (ICE) that guarantee supersuccess in business. The entrepreneurial experience outlined in the book allows one to see components of success that earlier, perhaps, seemed less significant and meaningful, but which, with an attentive second look, can give a boost to reach a new level of success. The book contains a critique of Marxist economic theory, pointing out its failure to include a theory of value creation for a parameter as fundamentally important as an entrepreneurs’ investment of intellectual capital.

Finance Secrets of Billion-Dollar Entrepreneurs by Dileep Rao Pdf

Take Control of Your Startup―and Watch it Grow “This book delivers clear thinking for entrepreneurs who want to control their own destiny and grow their business without the need for venture capital.” -Joel Cannon, co-founder and president of Cannon Technologies An analysis of success. Award-winning professor of entrepreneurship Dileep Rao presents readers with a detailed guide to success through his interviews and analysis of billion-dollar entrepreneurs (those who built a venture from startup to more than $1 billion in sales and valuation) and 100 million-dollar entrepreneurs (startup to $100 million). Build your business without venture capital (VC) funding. Rao is here to show entrepreneurs that it is possible to start a business without outside help. He shares how more than 90 percent of America’s billion-dollar entrepreneurs in the VC era (since 1946) avoided or delayed VC, and instead used finance-smart expertise―skills that combine business-smart, capital-smart, and leadership-smart strategies. The right mix of internal and external financing. It takes more than one person to grow a business from the bottom up. But that doesn’t mean we have to sacrifice control of the venture in the process. Armed with 23 years of experience as a financer, Rao shows readers how to optimize internal financing so as to attract external financing. By keeping control of the venture, entrepreneurs keep more of the wealth, as well. In Finance Secrets of Billion-Dollar Entrepreneurs learn about: • Pre-financing, financing and post-financing skills and strategies of finance-smart entrepreneurs • The ins and outs of venture finance, applicable to anyone looking to start a business • Tips on increasing capital productivity and attaining financially sustainable entrepreneurship If you’ve enjoyed entrepreneurship-focused titles like The Lean Startup, The $100 Startup, or Venture Deals, then Rao’s Finance Secrets of Billion-Dollar Entrepreneurs is the next book for you.

Data-Driven Decision Making in Entrepreneurship by Nikki Blackmith,Maureen E. McCusker Pdf

Since the beginning of the 21st century, there has been an explosion in startup organizations. Together, these organizations have been valued at over $3 trillion. In 2019, alone, nearly $300 billion of venture capital was invested globally (Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2020). Simultaneously, an explosion in high volume and high velocity of big data is rapidly changing how organizations function. Gone are the days where organizations can make decisions solely on intuition, logic, or experience. Some have gone as far as to say that data is the most valuable currency and resource available to businesses, and startups are no exception. However, startups and small businesses do differ from their larger counterparts and corporations in three distinct ways: 1) they tend to have fewer resources, time, and specialized training to devote to data analytics; 2) they are part of a unique entrepreneurial ecosystem with unique needs; 3) scholarship and academic research on human capital data analytics in startups is lacking. Existing entrepreneurship research focuses almost exclusively on macro-level aspects. There has been little to no integration of micro- and meso-level research (i.e., individual and team sciences), which is unfortunate given how organizational scientists have significantly advanced human capital data analytics. Unlike other books focused on data analytics and decision for organizations, this proposed book is purposefully designed to be more specifically aimed at addressing the unique idiosyncrasies of the science, research, and practice of startups. Each chapter highlights a specific organizational domain and discuss how a novel data analytic technique can help enhance decision-making, provides a tutorial of said regarding the data analytic technique, and lists references and resources for the respective data analytic technique. The volume will be grounded in sound theory and practice of organizational psychology, entrepreneurship and management and is divided into two parts: assessing and evaluating human capital performance and the use of data analytics to manage human capital.

Intellectual Property Management for Start-ups by Martin A. Bader,Sevim Süzeroğlu-Melchiors Pdf

This book examines intellectual property (IP) as an important value driver for start-ups. Businesses of all sizes are inevitably confronted with intellectual property issues at some point, but start-ups and their collaborators face unique challenges and opportunities in IP management. Identifying, generating, and exploiting intellectual property can lead to sustainable competitive advantages and avoidance of risks. Many start-ups sense the complexity of IP management and therefore place their energy elsewhere. However, the clear conclusion to be drawn from this unique collection of contributions is that putting an IP management strategy in place is critical to the successful development of a business. Prof. Dr. Martin A. Bader and Prof. Dr. Sevim Süzeroğlu-Melchiors have years of experience as consultants, entrepreneurs, business owners, and researchers where they saw firsthand the need for a comprehensive yet practical resource for start-ups and their key stakeholders. This book explores different perspectives in dealing with IP from six different angles: the start-up’s view, the investor’s view, the corporation’s view, the university’s view, the global IP office’s view, and the advisor’s view. Each section consists of chapters written by leading experts from around the globe including Silicon Valley, Canada, Israel, Switzerland, Germany, Finland, France, Australia, Brazil, India, Japan, Singapore, and South Africa. Contributors bring practical experience from a wide range of sectors, such as information and communication technology, software, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, industrial automation, internet of things, life sciences, pharma, crop science, biotech, medtech, mining, sustainability, climate tech, and even quantum technologies. This timely publication serves as a guidebook for entrepreneurs and other key stakeholders in the start-up ecosystem. It empowers founders to develop their own IP management strategy to mitigate risk, create and capture value, and lay the groundwork for sustainable growth. An essential reference for start-ups to achieve business excellence. “This edited book volume offers valuable insights, bringing together perspectives of key stakeholder groups from a wide variety of innovation ecosystems – an invaluable resource.” —Carsten Fink, Chief Economist, World Intellectual Property Organization, Geneva “A timely book for those wanting a clear overview of the issues the different players encounter in the start-up ecosystem. A useful resource indeed. Congratulations to the editors and team.”—Audrey Yap, Managing Partner YUSARN AUDREY LLC, Past President LESI, Chairman Singapore Innovation & Productivity Institute, Singapore “A ‘must read’ for all innovators in the start-up world. It is truly a fantastic book and one I would recommend being bought and read (in full)!”—Laurence Freeman, Professor (Adjunct), CU Denver Business School, Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship, Denver, Colorado, United States/div
