Mating Intelligence Unleashed by Glenn Geher PhD,Scott Barry Kaufman PhD Pdf

Psychologists often paint a picture of human mating as visceral, instinctual. But that's not the whole story. In courtship and display, sexual competition and rivalry, we are also guided by what Glenn Geher and Scott Barry Kaufman call Mating Intelligence--a range of mental abilities that have evolved to help us find the right partner. Mating Intelligence is at work in our efforts to form, maintain, and end relationships. It guides us in flirtation, foreplay, copulation, finding and choosing a mate, and many other behaviors. In Mating Intelligence Unleashed, psychologists Geher and Kaufman take readers on a fascinating tour of the crossroads of mating and intelligence, drawing on cutting-edge research on evolutionary psychology, intelligence, creativity, personality, social psychology, neuroscience, and more. The authors show that despite what you may read in the latest issue of Maxim, Playboy, Vogue, or GQ, physical attractiveness isn't the whole story. Human mating draws on a range of mental skills and attributes--from the creative use of pick-up lines, to displays of charisma, intelligence, humor, personality, and compassion. Along the way, the authors shed new light on age-old questions, such as: What role does personality play in mating? Which traits are attractive--and which traits repulse? How do people really choose mates? How do men and women deceive each other? How important is emotional intelligence? Why do people create art--and does it have anything to do with sex? Do nice guys really finish last? Since Glenn Geher coined the term Mating Intelligence in 2006, it has drawn a great deal of media attention, ranging from a Psychology Today cover story to articles in the New Scientist, the Washington Times, the Huffington Post, and elsewhere. Now, in Mating Intelligence Unleashed, readers will have the first full account of this revolutionary new approach to dating, mating, and love.

Advances in Artificial and Human Intelligence in the Modern Era by Rajest, S. Suman,Singh, Bhopendra,Obaid, Ahmed J.,Regin, R.,Chinnusamy, Karthikeyan Pdf

In the realm of psychological and brain sciences, there is a growing urgency to refine individual performance using personalized interventions that account for unique cognitive and biological attributes. Yet, the quest for such tailored approaches has proven challenging, as conventional methods often fall short. The limited integration of domain expertise and human judgment curtails the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in effectively optimizing human performance, particularly in areas like customized training, health monitoring, and cognitive enhancement. Bridging the gap between AI capabilities and the specific requirements of individuals becomes crucial in meeting this rising demand. Advances in Artificial and Human Intelligence in the Modern Era present a transformative solution to tackle the prevailing challenges at the intersection of AI and human performance enhancement. This book delves deeply into the latest empirical research, literature reviews, and methodological advancements to introduce precision AI techniques for personalized interventions. By examining how the amalgamation of domain expertise and human insights can enhance AI performance, the book establishes a comprehensive framework for modeling individual distinctions and devising effective, tailored AI approaches. Tailored for academic scholars and researchers in psychological and brain sciences, computer science, and related fields, this book provides a comprehensive exploration of pioneering advancements in the convergence of artificial and human intelligence. Its diverse chapters encompass a wide array of topics, including the identification of mental health concerns, integration of human intelligence into AI tools, enhancement of reliability, and exploration of data standards. As it fuses expertise from these two disciplines, the book paves the way for a new era of personalized interventions with the potential to revolutionize human cognitive enhancement, training, and overall well-being.

Proceedings of the International Conference Theory and Applications in the Knowledge Economy TAKE 2019 by Florian Kragulj Pdf

Foreword Ten years is a long time. In 2009 a bunch of friends gathered in Portugal for a conference that was to precede TAKE. In 2011 we repeated. Then, after a strange sequence of events, we finally organized TAKE for the first time in 2015 in Aveiro, followed by Zagreb, Poznan and now Vienna. Florian Kragulj was in the first TAKE in Aveiro and from the start showed the highest level of enthusiasm and professionalism in the event. These characteristics were kept alive during all the 15 or so months during which we organized TAKE 2019. That this edition of TAKE involves several entities linked with academia, i.e. WU Vienna University of Economics and Business, the Austrian Economic Chamber and the Institute for Applied Research on Skilled Crafts and Trades (IAGF). This in itself a big success and a sign of the Conference improvement. Also, we may see, by analysing the papers and in particular the streams, that TAKE has been following the economic times, and this year we have several papers on the Gig Economy. Only good conferences adjust, the others get stuck in time. And success in Conferences is about teams. And in TAKE that team, is indeed, a very large group of people including the co-chairs, the local organizing team, the material organizers (Book of Abstracts and Proceedings), the stream leaders, and the paper reviewers – without all these persons nothing could have been done. And finally we had to depend on the authors, and their willingness to work with us. Without the work of these large dozens of devoted and skilled people TAKE 2019 would not have existed. May I also mention that this time and with Florian’s impulse and skill the organization of TAKE was improved in technological terms – in short we became techno – we used a website to deliver the mail list, a website to receive the scientific material and another website to receive the fees. All these were investments that eventually paid of, and that will guarantee a more stable organization for TAKE in the future. And we owe it to Florian. However, as the Human Resource Development part of TAKE (and more than anyone Gary Mc Lean) would remind us – “We are humans, Eduardo”, and technology helps, but in the end, is attention to detail, capacity to deal with the bizarre and to accommodate the weirdness making sometimes the impossible possible that differentiates a good conference, made doing things right, from an excellent conference, based in doing the right things. And on this last matter, believe me, we in TAKE are among the best in the world, because apart from being outstanding scholars, and good colleagues, we are an amazing group of friends, and friendship is the best way to turn good conferences into outstanding ones. Many thanks, from the heart and enjoy the Conference. Eduardo Tomé Conference Chair, Universidad Europeia Lisbon, July 2019, Lisbon, Portugal
