Israel by Graham Coates Pdf

This book looks at many of the issues that fill our news bulletins daily concerning the tiny nation of Israel. For centuries, Jews have been subjected to horrendous abuses. In the opening chapters, we examine the root cause of anti-Semitism and debunk replacement theology, one of the most insidious heresies in the church today. Both anti-Semitism and replacement theology are tools the devil uses to undermine Gods love for Israel and faithfulness to the covenant he made with Abraham. One of the most misinterpreted Old Testament prophecies is now being fulfilled before our eyes. Ezekiels vision of a valley of dry dead bones has so often been used to describe a church that is in desperate need of revival. In the remaining chapters, we look at this prophecy in its proper context. The dry bones are coming together, following the birth of the State of Israel in 1947. Jews from all over the world are returning to the land that was promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The dry bones have grown muscle and have transformed a desert into an oasis. Israel has grown into a major international power, as seen by Ezekiel. Finally, God is not yet finished with his people, and in the last chapter, we see what God says is Israels future. It is a glorious future! It will usher in his return and the establishment of his throne in the city of Jerusalem.

Future Israel by Barry E. Horner Pdf

Future Israel: Why Christian Anti-Judaism Must Be Challenged is volume three in the NEW AMERICAN COMMENTARY STUDIES IN BIBLE & THEOLOGY (NACSBT) series for pastors, advanced Bible students, and other deeply committed laypersons. Author Barry E. Horner writes to persuade readers concerning the divine validity of the Jew today (based on Romans 11:28), as well as the nation of Israel and the land of Palestine, in the midst of this much debated issue within Christendom at various levels. He examines the Bible's consistent pro-Judaic direction, namely a Judeo-centric eschatology that is a unifying feature throughout Scripture. Not sensationalist like many other writings on this constantly debated topic, Future Israel is instead notably exegetical and theological in its argumentation. Users will find this an excellent extension of the long-respected NEW AMERICAN COMMENTARY.

ISRAELS GUARANTEED FUTURE GLOR by Kit R. Olsen Pdf

Updated 2017 Presidential Inaugural Edition Now Available Bible prophecy is accelerating today and the nation of Israel is at the heart of geopolitical dynamics. Israel's Guaranteed Future Glory is especially for those who are tired of ear-tickling books. It is for those who are dedicated to the Lord and want to study the Bible as the Bereans did, searching the Scriptures daily-not relying on the onslaught of media hype for Bible -study- (2 Timothy 2:15; Acts 17:11). Unless we take self-responsibility for our spiritual growth we can easily be -tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error- (Ephesians 4:14b). In this comprehensive treatise you will read about important end-times topics including what some key Israeli leaders have expressed to evangelicals. While at a reception for the late Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon hosted by the World Bible Society in Beverly Hills, California-he commended Christian evangelicals for loving Israel. But he expressed a serious new concern: -We have a problem with you evangelicals saying we will get all the land from the Nile to the Euphrates. Please be careful because we do not want to be seen as 'predatory or expansionist.' We want to make it clear that the land is only to be given in the days of Messiah; and even talk about the Temple is very dangerous because it could lead to a Holy War.- -Kit R. Olsen's excellent scholarly work clearly spells out that the Word of God in relation to Israel is of paramount importance. Each chapter gives foundational truths and speaks to the divine nature of God and His historical involvement-not only with Israel but His prophetic plan for all of His creation. The author causes the reader to think through and carefully analyze prophetic Scriptures and correctly assess their meanings.- -World Bible Society President, Dr. F. Kenton Beshore Kit R. Olsen is a Christian author, also specializing in Christian book editing and ghostwriting for multinational publishers and ministries. She is currently General Editor for the popular Rapture Ready website (since 2012). Kit has edited/revised thousands of articles for the site and has written hundreds of articles (FAQs) and more as a staff writer. Her weekly column on Rapture Ready, -Dear Esther, - is a fresh insightful Christian alternative to secular advice columns providing wise counsel to those who are in need of guidance, comfort, encouragement and biblical instruction.

Hebrew Poetry from Late Antiquity by Wout van Bekkum Pdf

The discovery of the Genizah manuscipt collection is nothing less than a revolution for the knowledge of Hebrew literature and Jewish culture in Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages. One of the main results of one hundred years of Genizah research is the rediscovery of Hebrew liturgical poetry which shed much light on various aspects of Jewish studies. For the last half century it has been almost comonplace to discover new poems, unknown poets, novel uses of poetry and unfamiliar poetic versions of familiar prose texts within liturgical settings being revealed among the manuscripts and manuscript fragments. The products of the composers and reciters of synagogue poetry convincingly demonstrate the importance of poetry in Jewish worship and communal life. The major corpora of Palestinian liturgical poetry bear evidence to the prolific literary activity of a number of famous poets who laid the foundations for the development of Hebrew poetry in later periods: Yossi ben Yossi, Yannai, Simon bar Megas, Elazar birabbi Kilir and Yohanan ha-Kohen. One of these mostly Byzantine-Jewish 'melodists' was Yehudah who composed a cycle of poems in accordance with the reading tradition of the Pentateuch and Prophets on the sabbath. This study presents Yehudah's oeuvre with commentaries and deals with its historical and literary context in four introductory chapters. The edition is complemented by indices and a bibliography.

The Problem of the Old Testament by Duane A. Garrett Pdf

Biblical Foundations Book Awards Finalist For Christians, the Old Testament often presents a conundrum. We revere it as God's Word, but we don't always comprehend it. It has great truths beautifully expressed, but it also has lengthy lists of names that we cannot pronounce, detailed rules for religious rites that we never observe, and grim stories that we never tell our children. Theologians and laypeople throughout church history have struggled to define it, interpret it, and reconcile it with the New Testament. In The Problem of the Old Testament, Duane A. Garrett takes on this conundrum and lays a foundation for constructive study of the Old Testament. He surveys three primary methods Christians have used to handle the Old Testament, from the church fathers to today: hermeneutical, schematic, and conceptual. Garrett also explores major interpretive topics such as the nature of the law, the function of election and covenants, and how prophecy works, boldly offering a way forward that is faithful to the text and to the Christian faith. "I argue," Garrett writes, "that the Old Testament is fulfilled in Jesus Christ and that it is authoritative and edifying for Christians." This thorough, accessible work is essential reading for all students of Scripture seeking to discover the Old Testament's riches beyond the challenges.
