Jesus Only Churches by E. Calvin Beisner Pdf

Unlike Jehovah's Witnesses, who deny the Trinity by demoting Jesus to a mere man, the "Jesus Only" churches deny the Trinity by claiming that there is only one God, and that Jesus is the Father and the Holy Spirit. "Jesus Only" churches not only require baptism for salvation, but also stipulate that it must be baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ only, and not in the name of the Father, the son, and the Holy Spirit. Thus, these churches distort the gospel and the historic, orthodox understanding of Jesus. Why this series? This is an age when countless groups and movements, old and new, mark the religious landscape in our culture, leaving many people confused or uncertain in their search for spiritual truth and meaning. Because you may not have the time or opportunity to research these movements fully, these books provide essential and reliable information and insights for their spiritual journeys. The second wave of books in this series addresses a broad range of spiritual beliefs, from non-Trinitarian Christian sects to witchcraft and neo-paganism to classic non-Christian religions such as Buddhism and Hinduism. All books but the summary volume, Truth and Error, contain five sections: -A concise introduction to the group being surveyed -An overview of the group’s theology — in its own words -Tips for witnessing effectively to members of the group -A bibliography with sources for further study -A comparison chart that shows the essential differences between biblical Christianity and the group -Truth and Error, the last book in the series, consists of parallel doctrinal charts compiled from all the other volumes. Three distinctives make this series especially useful to readers: -Information is carefully distilled to bring out truly essential points, rather than requiring readers to sift their way through a sea of secondary details. -Information is presented in a clear, easy-to-follow outline form with “menu bar” running heads. This format greatly assists the reader in quickly locating topics and details of interest. -Each book meets the needs and skill levels of both nontechnical and technical readers, providing an elementary level of refutation and progressing to a more advanced level using arguments based on the biblical text. The writers of these volumes are well qualified to present clear and reliable information and help readers to discern truth from falsehood.

Oneness Pentecostal Churches by Bruce Tucker Pdf

There are approximately 111 separate sects and denominations that are classified as Oneness Pentecostal Churches. These congregations are found in nearly every city and town in the United States, as well as around the world. They get their distinctive name from the fact that they do not believe in the orthodox doctrine of the Trinity. They believe that all who do believe in the Trinity are spiritually lost because they have adopted a pagan doctrine. They differ from other Pentecostals and the rest of the historical church on several important issues, earning them the title of a Pseudo-Christian Cult by established cult watching organizations and cult experts. The book, Oneness Pentecostal Churches, examines the claims, doctrines and practices of these fellowships. It addresses the issues in a manner comprehensive enough to satisfy the professional minister, yet clear enough to meet the needs of laypeople who are seeking answers about this significant movement. The questions discussed in the book include: 1.) Who are Oneness Pentecostals? 2.)Why are Oneness Pentecostals called "the people of the name"? 3.)Is the doctrine of the Trinity really pagan? 4.)Is there a three step pathway to salvation? 5.)Does water baptism save? 6.)Is speaking in tongues required for salvation? For those interested in understanding the Oneness Pentecostal movement, this book is required reading.

Jesus > Religion by Jefferson Bethke Pdf

Abandon dead, dry, religious rule-keeping and embrace the promise of being truly known and deeply loved. Jefferson Bethke burst into the cultural conversation with a passionate, provocative poem titled "Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus." The 4-minute video became an overnight sensation, with 7 million YouTube views in its first 48 hours (and 23+ million in a year). Bethke's message clearly struck a chord with believers and nonbelievers alike, triggering an avalanche of responses running the gamut from encouraged to enraged. In his New York Times bestseller Jesus > Religion, Bethke unpacks similar contrasts that he drew in the poem--highlighting the difference between teeth gritting and grace, law and love, performance and peace, despair, and hope. With refreshing candor, he delves into the motivation behind his message, beginning with the unvarnished tale of his own plunge from the pinnacle of a works-based, fake-smile existence that sapped his strength and led him down a path of destructive behavior. Along the way, Bethke gives you the tools you need to: Humbly and prayerfully open your mind Understand Jesus for all that he is View the church from a brand-new perspective Bethke is quick to acknowledge that he's not a pastor or theologian, but simply an ordinary, twenty-something who cried out for a life greater than the one for which he had settled. On this journey, Bethke discovered the real Jesus, who beckoned him with love beyond the props of false religion. Praise for Jesus > Religion: "Jeff's book will make you stop and listen to a voice in your heart that may have been drowned out by the noise of religion. Listen to that voice, then follow it--right to the feet of Jesus." --Bob Goff, author of New York Times bestsellers Love Does and Everybody, Always "The book you hold in your hands is Donald Miller's Blue Like Jazz meets C. S. Lewis's Mere Christianity meets Augustine's Confessions. This book is going to awaken an entire generation to Jesus and His grace." --Derwin L. Gray, lead pastor of Transformation Church, author of Limitless Life: Breaking Free from the Labels That Hold You Back

Jesus Only by Ernan Norman Pdf

The focus and theme of this book is Jesus only. The eternal verity taught in Scripture is that Jesus alone saves. Therefore, the central focus of the church must be on Jesus Christ, the One crucified, risen, ascended, interceding, and coming again. This was the secret to the life and power of the apostolic church. Everything about the early church, as recorded in the book of Acts, was due to the presence and power of the Lord in His church. The Scriptures clearly speak about their passion but also about the One who was central to their preaching, teaching, and living as a body of believers: And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and peach Jesus Christ (Acts 5: 42). Unfortunately, the church no longer measures up to the life that God intended for it. In these final and closing days of earths history, Jesus is anxiously awaiting for a portrait of Himself in His church. The spirit and power of the apostolic period must return. The central focus of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior must return. The dynamic Holy Ghost empowerment of the church must return. The daily growth of the church must return. The self-sacrificing spirit that should mark the life of a true disciple must return. There is no question that we must return to primitive godliness, and for that to happen, the church will have to return to her first love, which is a central focus on Jesus.

The Truth of the Gospel by Peter Parris Pdf

Readers of The Truth of the Gospel will find Biblical exposition of foundational truths, including God's sovereignty; Jesus as the only way to the one true God; predestination; the power of new birth and the implications of "Christ in you"; the validity of the baptism of the Holy Spirit; and the victorious nature of the kingdom of God. They will gain insight into difficult passages such as, "no one who is born of God sins," and "all the evil that the Lord had brought on him." They will receive Biblically-based answers to thorny and controversial questions, including, "Are the gifts valid for today?"; "What about the rapture?"; "What is a Christian's relationship to the law?"; and "Is rebuilding the temple blasphemy?" They will be equipped to discern, and Biblically refute, popular, but misguided, philosophies and opinions, and even traditional teachings, which are not the truth, such as baptismal regeneration, the cessation doctrine, and beliefs that the kingdom has not yet come or has already come in its fullness. They will be encouraged in their faith and in their love of God as they discover God's provisions for victorious living, and every believer's part in the unfolding of God's eternal purpose in the Lord Jesus. Peter Parris, a native of Great Britain, was converted at the age of thirteen at a Baptist church in South London. He began preaching when he was fifteen, and had the privilege and benefit of godly ministers, including Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones of Westminster Chapel. He has founded churches in both Great Britain and the United States, where he has been living since 1978. He has worked with the Fellowship of Connected Churches and Ministries since its inception, and serves as one of its apostolic leaders. He is the author of the daily devotional book, Act Like A Man.

Two Churches Only by Steven Sego Pdf

This book is written for the purpose of being a road map for someone wanting to understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Charts as visual aids, are entitled: “The Church of Jesus Christ Illustrated”, for the purpose of letting the reader see exactly what the “Gospel of Jesus Christ” is, and not just getting a little here and a little there, but being able to see the whole picture of what Christ is about. The book is written in a systematic approach, beginning with, “who God is”, “who are we?”, “where did we come from?”, “why are we here?”, “is there life after this?”, and “how do we fit into the scheme of things?” These are all basic questions that have often crossed people's minds, and now you do not need to wonder anymore. This book is here to answer fundamental questions, and look into some of the mysteries about God. The scriptures are explained to the point, that when the reader starts to grasp what is contained herein, will look up at the ceiling, and say WOW. It all has been right in front of me the whole time, and I could not understand it. Too many people depend on a minister, preacher, prophet, pope, bishop, doctor of divinity, pastor and other leaders, who supposedly go to college and get a degree in religion, but yet when they teach, they are those who “are ever learning and never able to come to a knowledge of the truth”. This book is designed to help the reader understand that the title of it, “TWO CHURCHES ONLY”, means just that. It shows everything is in one system or the other, even the Christian Churches. It talks about God, government, those who are in government, agencies, churches etc., and shows how everything is all tied together. The main purpose of this book is to show the reader what Slavery, and Freedom look like. Once a reader finishes this book, the reader will have great knowledge, and will never be the same again. They will begin to look at life much differently. To read the book, and understand the pearls contained therein, will take the Spirit of the Holy Ghost, bearing witness that it is true. The author is only a man who loves God first, and then loves his brother/sister second. He has no glamorous titles, nor college degrees, but he is just another everyday person who works for a living to feed his family. The difference is that the author has fought “the good fight”. And because of this, God has granted him knowledge, and allows him to see, because he exercises his faith in God. The information contained in this book are things the reader will not learn in church, especially those 501(c)(3) charter churches. They would much rather be politically correct, charismatic, and avoid being controversial, as if they are ashamed to learn the truth. Anyway, the reader needs to be the judge, may God bless you who are proclaimed Christian, and may he also bless you who are not, that you will have a burning desire to take upon yourself the Name of Jesus Christ, and receive his gospel.

The Universal Christ by Richard Rohr Pdf

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • From one of the world’s most influential spiritual thinkers, a long-awaited book exploring what it means that Jesus was called “Christ,” and how this forgotten truth can restore hope and meaning to our lives. “Anyone who strives to put their faith into action will find encouragement and inspiration in the pages of this book.”—Melinda Gates In his decades as a globally recognized teacher, Richard Rohr has helped millions realize what is at stake in matters of faith and spirituality. Yet Rohr has never written on the most perennially talked about topic in Christianity: Jesus. Most know who Jesus was, but who was Christ? Is the word simply Jesus’s last name? Too often, Rohr writes, our understandings have been limited by culture, religious debate, and the human tendency to put ourselves at the center. Drawing on scripture, history, and spiritual practice, Rohr articulates a transformative view of Jesus Christ as a portrait of God’s constant, unfolding work in the world. “God loves things by becoming them,” he writes, and Jesus’s life was meant to declare that humanity has never been separate from God—except by its own negative choice. When we recover this fundamental truth, faith becomes less about proving Jesus was God, and more about learning to recognize the Creator’s presence all around us, and in everyone we meet. Thought-provoking, practical, and full of deep hope and vision, The Universal Christ is a landmark book from one of our most beloved spiritual writers, and an invitation to contemplate how God liberates and loves all that is.

Blueprint for a Revolution: Building Upon All of the New Testament - Volume One by Reed K. Merino B.A. M. Div. Pdf

What if, for more than fifty years, you worked hard to research the New Testament without denominational filters? And then what if you were to organize that research by subject matter? Well, that is what I have done in these two volumes of “Blueprint for a Revolution: Building Upon ALL of The New Testament.” What follows is a catechism of apostolic, true Christianity. It is a body of teaching that flows out of taking all New Testament teachings in a grammatically natural and literal sense, the way we instinctively read all serious literature. Testimony from the earliest Christians is also presented, demonstrating that what those earliest churches taught and lived out was typically identical to what you conclude when you take the New Testament doctrines, commands and promises in that same sense. In those many years of research, I have never come upon a single church or book that provides a specific set of principles (a.k.a., “exegetical method”) by which all Biblical passages are to be interpreted, and that has then set about to consistently surrender to those principles in all the subjects that it covers. My claim, therefore, is that this is the only such catechetical work that does just that. The importance of this book does not lie mainly in the specific conclusions of any individual chapter, and certainly not in any of my literally skills at presenting those conclusions. It lies largely in the juxtaposition of teachings that are often thought to be in conflict with each other only because the traditions that hold to the beliefs in those chapters have been in conflict with each other. It is my contention that what Jesus considered to be “my church” is what is taught within these chapters, the church that is an incarnation of His “kingdom of God”!
