Filled with Horror by Minerva Jacqueline Perring Pdf
Lauren, The Davies 14 year old only daughter has arranged a Halloween sleepover. She invites two of her best friends from her form class called Tanya and Marie. She is at home alone that evening, pure bliss and peace to her .Whilst her parents both go out to a classy restaurant for a meal with her mums best friend Harriet Wheeler. To celebrate Harriet Wheelers new full time job working at the old fashioned sweetshop called Sweet Souvenires. One of the top well known sweetshops in the inner city of London. That is really popular with the tourists and customers. Anyway after Lauren and both of her friends Tanya and Marie have ate their meal they finally decide to try out playing the scary Bloody Mary game. Little do they know about the possible consequences of the Bloody Mary game. They all are convinced that after chanting Bloody Mary three times they see a scary black face silhoutte appearing in the bathroom mirror. When Laurens parents return from their meal out quite late Tanya tells Laurens mother about their experience of playing the Bloody Mary game. With both herself and her friend Abby when they both did when they were both years old. For about the first two weeks Lauren is pretty shaken up with the terrifying experience with the game. However when Marie texts her on her mobile one evening asking her whether she and Tanya want to go see her favourite non horror film at the cinema. Called Great Expectations, from a classic book written by Charles Dickens. They laugh endlessly during the film whilst cramming themselves with toffee butter popcorn. After having a fantastic girls night out Lauren is convinced after that they have forgotten about their scary Bloody Mary game experience. From that day onwards.
An “enchanting” memoir of an artist in search of herself: “A sure hit for fans of Sara Benincasa’s Agorafabulous! and Lena Dunham’s Not That Kind of Girl” (Booklist, starred review).Caca Dolce is the “funny, candid, and bracingly self-aware” story of Chelsea Martin’s coming of age as an artist (The Rumpus). We’re with the author of cult novels Mickey and Even Though I Don’t Miss You as an eleven-year-old atheist, trying to will an alien visitation to her neighborhood; fighting with her stepfather and grappling with a Tourette’s diagnosis as she becomes a teenager; falling under the sway of frenemies and crushes in high school; going into debt to afford what might be a meaningless education at an expensive art college; navigating the messy process of falling in love with a close friend; and struggling for independence from her emotionally manipulative father and from the family and friends in the dead-end California town that has defined her upbringing. A book about relationships, class, art, sex, money, family, and growing up weird and poor in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Casa Dolce is “a wild ride of a memoir, and a true glimpse into the mind of an artist as she’s figuring out what life is all about” (Kristin Iversen, Nylon).
