You will be living into His calling for you. Are you worried about your lovely granddaughter as she navigates this tumultuous world? Maybe you are concerned about your grown son. He seems to be moving farther and farther from the Lord. Then check out these “Seven Keys”. They are basic steps that can propel you towards leaving the most precious legacy of all: a legacy of faith in the Lord. FIRST KEY: Surrender Your Heart to Jesus Christ In order to pass a legacy of faith you must BE a person of faith! People are in one of three categories: those living in Egypt, those wandering around the desert or those abiding in the Promised Land. Discern which category describes you and learn the next step towards a life surrendered to the Lord. SECOND KEY: Read the Bible Daily Since we live in a noisy world, we must choose to set aside Quiet Time. By daily resting in God’s Word, we strengthen our spirits. Learn effective ways to delve into the Bible so that you can implement these Godly truths into your life. Then you will be powerfully prepared to encourage faith in your loved ones. THIRD KEY: Pray Fervently “Babushka Time”! Be like the Russian grandmothers in World War II who fell to their knees praying fervently for their loved ones. Discover powerful ways to prayerfully protect and guide the children and grandchildren the Lord has placed in your life and under your care. FOURTH KEY: Pursue Healthy Relationships with Loved Ones In a culture crowded with smart phones, computers and heavy schedules; relationships are diminished. This key encourages and equips grandparents and parents with grown children to run hard after healthy relationships with their children so that they can pass faith in Christ to the next generation. FIFTH KEY: Heal Broken Relationships We live in a tumultuous world. Many of us have strained, or broken, relationships with our children and grandchildren. Learn three steps towards resolving issues and mending broken relationships with loved ones. SIXTH KEY: Leave a Well-Written Legacy of Love With the world becoming heavily infiltrated by technology, the written word is decreasing. Study ways to write letters, create journals and scribe blessings to family members such that you communicate God’s love to your children and grandchildren. SEVENTH KEY: Pass Your Faith Every person has a God-story to tell. Maybe your story is how you accepted the Lord when you were eight years old, or forty eight years old. Maybe your God-story is that you have always struggled with faith in Christ. Regardless, you have a story that is worthy to be told to your children and grandchildren. God’s highest vision for grandparents is to pass a legacy of faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, to your loved ones. In this world where most seniors retire, God is calling YOU to become a life-changer in the lives of your children and grandchildren. You can make a difference by impacting their hearts for the Lord. Grab these keys and run the race marked divinely for you by God. Never has there been a more important job to do. Never has the need been more urgent.

From Splintered Soul by Scott McBride Pdf

Scott McBride’s struggle with depression, anxiety and grief forced him to acknowledge the illogical, seemingly insurmountable abyss of mental illness, through writing poetry. The poems are raw, visceral illuminations of Despair and Struggle. Rare gems of dark humour are interspersed with self-destruction. These smiles, and even occasional bouts of silliness, create a momentum of hope for eventual Redemption. The author’s path to that healing port is a long and precarious one. Yet, by revealing his breathtaking courage and vulnerability. Scott McBride’s literary endeavour acts as the sail to whisk him towards this destination.

America's Most Vulnerable Coastal Communities by Joseph T. Kelley,Orrin H. Pilkey,J. A. G. Cooper Pdf

"Sea level is rising, and yet Americans continue to develop beaches with little regard. In this volume, a group of coastal geologists discusses the startling saga of ten U.S. East and Gulf Coast shoreline communities (plus Puerto Rico and some western Europe strands) and the problems created by their inevitable interaction with natural processes in this highly dynamic geologic environment. The authors discuss the geologic context of the hazards of each site as the history of societal responses and their environmental impacts. Response to the natural coastal processes that threaten lives and buildings is carried out in a context of local, state and national politics with fixed short-term engineering solutions (beach replenishment, seawalls) generally favored over longer-term approaches (moving back, prohibition of seawalls). This essential GSA Special Paper foreshadows the impending rise of sea level and the myriad of shoreline responses and political controversies it will provoke."--Publisher's description.

Disguise in George Sand's Novels by Françoise Ghillebaert Pdf

Sandian heroines swirl around men in their sororal and sartorial disguises like moths around candle flames. However, as Disguise in George Sand's Novels illustrates, the disguise is not an instrument to seduce men but rather to assert the heroines' true selves. The portrayal of female and androgynous protagonists in Rose et Blanche (1831), Indiana (1832), Lélia (1833/39), Gabriel (1839), Consuelo (1842), and La Comtesse de Rudolstadt (1844) is a metaphor to demonstrate the continuity of identities before and after the disguise as George Sand stipulates in her theory of the ménechme. Disguise in George Sand's Novels explores the maturation process of Romantic and artistically inclined heroines and highlights the spiritual meaning of the disguise as a rite of passage for the birth of a new type of protagonist: spiritual, self-assertive, and dedicated to erasing gender inequality and helping the poor.

The National Habitus by Marie-Pierre Le Hir Pdf

Stories about border crossers, illegal aliens, refugees that regularly appear in the press everywhere point to the crucial role national identity plays in human beings' lives today. The National Habitus seeks to understand how and why national belonging became so central to a person's identity and sense of identity. Centered on the acquisition of the national habitus, the process that transforms subjects into citizens when a state becomes a nation-state, the book examines this transformation at the individual level in the case of nineteenth century France. Literary texts serve as primary material in this study of national belonging, because, as Germaine de Staël pointed out long ago, literature has the unique ability to provide access to "inner feelings." The term "habitus," in the title of this book, signals a departure from traditional approaches to nationalism, a break with the criteria of language, race, and ethnicity typically used to examine it. It is grounded instead in a sociology that deals with the subjective dimension of life and is best exemplified by the works of Norbert Elias (1897–1990) and Pierre Bourdieu (1931–2002), two sociologists who approach belief systems like nationalism from a historical, instead of an ethical vantage point. By distinguishing between two groups of major French writers, three who experienced the 1789 Revolution firsthand as adults (Olympe de Gouges, François René de Chateaubriand and Germaine de Staël) and three who did not (Stendhal, Prosper Mérimée, and George Sand), the book captures evolving understandings of the nation, as well as thoughts and emotions associated with national belonging over time. Le Hir shows that although none of these writers is typically associated with nationalism, all of them were actually affected by the process of nationalization of feelings, thoughts, and habits, irrespective of aesthetic preferences, social class, or political views. By the end of the nineteenth century, they had learned to feel and view themselves as French nationals; they all exhibited the characteristic features of the national habitus: love of their own nation, distrust and/or hatred of other nations. By underscoring the dual contradictory nature of the national habitus, the book highlights the limitations nation-based identities impose on the prospect for peace.
