Yesterday's Children by Jenny Cockell Pdf

This is the extraordinary story of Jenny Cockell, a young woman from Northamptonshire, who has always known that she has lived before. In her previous life her name was Mary. She was an Irishwoman who died 21 years before Jenny was born leaving several very young children without a mother or a stable, happy home. Yesterday's Children describes the trauma and worry of this continual pastlife memory, and Jenny's decision to search for her lost children. The book follows her progress through her dreams and memories, the revelations of hypnotism, her searches through maps, through local groups in Ireland, and her trip to the village where Mary had lived. Finally, she details her painstaking search for the children (now in their sixties and seventies) who had been split up after Mary's death, and the extraordinary reunions that took place. This is a fascinating book. In many ways it is a real life detective story, as we learn about Jenny, about Mary, her difficult life and finally, with great joy and trepidation, discover what happened to her children.

Life . . . Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow by Jeanette Dowdell Pdf

Jeanette Dowdell knows that life is a miracle filled with magic that does not promise guarantees. In a potpourri of poetry, she shares diverse reflections about life, beauty, meaning, joy, sorrow, friendships, family, and special moments that all offer the same message: to never give up. Dowdells light-hearted poems begin by exploring her childhood when she refused to keep her white high-top shoes on, loved surprises in cereal boxes, and devoured delicious treats from local bakeries. As she moves into poems that explore the role of fate, misty moments, wakeful dreaming, and love, Dowdell shines a light on all that life has to offer while encouraging others live in the moment, observe the beauty around them, and build memories that last a lifetime. Life . . . Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow shares a compilation of poems that reflect on one womans unique journey through life as she learns to embrace the miracle of her existence and never give up.

The World of Yesterday's Humanist Today by Marion Sonnenfeld Pdf

Fifty years ago, Stefan Zweig, who committed suicide in 1942, was the most widely read and translated living writer in the world. Zweig's Vienna was a world of bright, brittle superficialities, in which the bourgeoisie "gradually elevated the eternal business of seeing and being seen to the purpose of the existence." To break through the facades of this society, Zweig developed a remarkable literary and psychological method. In The World of Yesterday's Humanist Today, thirty scholars of history, literature, and music share their studies of Zweig and their insight into his works.

Letting Go of Yesterday's Pain: Carol's Story by Violet O. Cox Ph.D Pdf

Letting Go of Yesterday’s Pain is a story passionately narrated by Carol as she struggles to find herself in the midst of family feuds, lies, murder, incest, and deception. The book starts out at a slow pace, as the heroine wrestles with her inner conflicts of whether to be publicly transparent or to remain cocooned in her past. However, the momentum of the story picks up when she finally bursts forth from the struggle and unabashedly travels vividly through the chapters of her life’s story. In a pseudo-autobiographical fashion, Carol chronicles her childhood years that wove the pattern for her adolescent and later adult years of deprivation, rebellion, mistrust, and promiscuity. The deeper structure of the book speaks to two very fundamental building blocks of human existence: the role of the family in shaping the destiny of each member and the unquestionable providential hand of God still guiding a soul in spite of bad choices. The discussion sections based on each chapter provided in the appendix offer biblical authenticity.

Today's Sounds for Yesterday's Films by K.J. Donnelly,Ann-Kristin Wallengren Pdf

In recent years, there has been something of an explosion in the performance of live music to silent films. There is a wide range of films with live and new scores that run from the historically accurate orchestral scores to contemporary sounds by groups such as Pet Shop Boys or by experimental composers and gothic heavy metal bands. It is no exaggeration to claim that music constitutes a bridge between the old silent film and the modern audience; music is also a channel for non-scholarly audiences to gain an appreciation of silent films. Music has become a means both for musicians and audiences to understand this bygone film art anew. This book is the first of its kind in that it aims to bring together writings and interviews to delineate the culture of providing music for silent films. It not only has the character of a scholarly work but is also something of a manual in that it discusses how to make music for silent films.

Perseverance of Yesterday's Women by Dragana Djurdjev Pdf

Ms. Djurdjev wrote her book to give support and encouragement to those who unwillingly relinquished their talents and journey to someone else. To those who see themselves in her story, she sends ideas and encouragement and perhaps the sense of urgency for them to call upon their courage, create a plan, and reclaim their journey through life. She reminds us that there are no do-overs in life; it is obligatory to seek joy while living it. While in leadership roles, Ms. Djurdjev realized, like her, others have a need for ideas and guidance to find ways to reclaim their talents, which would enable them to create their own special journey through life.

That Mean Old Yesterday by Stacey Patton Pdf

'So there I was - a twenty-one year old black female university student walking down a suburban street with a gun, no shoes and murder on my mind. I was going to kill the past. I didn't know what else to do with it' Stacey Patton today is a vibrant and impressive young woman with a promising career in journalism. Yet her childhood was a battleground of bullying, abuse and mental torture. Abandoned by her birth mother, Stacey was placed in the New Jersey foster care system and was apparently lucky to be adopted by a hardworking, God-fearing African American couple. Yet something else was going on in this immaculately kept home - punishment in terrible ways, physical, emotional and sexual. Her mother was tyrannical and her father, either so in love with or in fear of his wife, turned a blind eye to the abuse she heaped on their love-starved little girl. Stacey survived by channelling her energy into her school work and her education raised her from the shackles of her unhappy home. Drawing parallels between her own childhood and the treatment of black slaves brought to America, Stacey Patton weaves the moving story of her own painful upbringing with the shameful slave history of America.

Yesterday is Gone by Talented Evans Pdf

Adopted at an early age, I had no idea what was going on or what was about to happen to me. I found myself growing up in a household with people that abused me mentally, physically, and emotionally. Not knowing how to deal with living in a loveless home, I began to act out. I was out of control in school. I made sure I got good grades. My behavior, on the other hand, showed that I was a troubled child. I did not listen to teachers, principals, or anyone else. I pulled fire alarms and locked classroom and bathroom doors. I was always in the principal's office for fighting or stealing. I even remember sliding down the front hall in my slip. That was just kindergarten. I began drinking, drugging, and smoking cigarettes at the age of twelve. At that time, I felt like I was completely free of all emotion. There was nothing or no one that was ever going to hurt me again. I had become just as toxic as my environment. I carried all that baggage to college with me. It was there I met my children's father. From infidelity to prison, the back-and-forth in this relationship was shameful, to say the least. This had to be the pettiest relationship I have ever seen or been in. Instead of walking away, we got married and had two daughters together. It was thirteen long years of heavy drinking, drugging, and domestic violence. Our children witnessed far too much far too soon. I was creating more damaged goods.
