Light and Obscurity in Symbolism by Deborah Cibelli,Rosina Neginsky Pdf

The idea of light and darkness is one of the central ideas of the Symbolist movement, since this is a movement of contrasts. It encompasses the major themes of Symbolism, such as good and evil, beauty and ugliness, the visible and the invisible, and the divine and the earthly. This volume brings together a range of studies in order to understand the notion of light and darkness and a variety of its Symbolist interpretations. It also stresses the interdisciplinary nature of the concepts of light and darkness in Symbolism, as well as the cohabitation and symbiosis of both, which are together or separately at the core of this movement.

The Symbolism of Freemasonry by Albert Mackey Pdf

The Symbolism of Freemasonry by Albert Mackey is about the symbolism involved with the Masonic order. Excerpt: "Of the various modes of communicating instruction to the uninformed, the masonic student is particularly interested in two; namely, the instruction by legends and that by symbols. It is to these two, almost exclusively, that he is indebted for all that he knows, and for all that he can know, of the philosophic system which is taught in the institution. All its mysteries and its dogmas, which constitute its philosophy, are entrusted for communication to the neophyte, sometimes to one, sometimes to the other of these two methods of instruction, and sometimes to both of them combined."

Symbolism and Allegories in Masonry by Saliym Hakiym Pdf

This book is an attempt to clear up confusion in some and enlighten others of what masonry never intended for them to know in the blue lodge. Over the years I've met many brothers of the craft who seemed to be unaware of the many underlying meanings within the symbols and allegories used in masonry. We've all been taught that masonry leaves no stone unturned. This is my way to turn over some of those stones to provide some clarity and instruction.

The Symbolism of Paul Gauguin by Henri Dorra Pdf

"Modern Gauguin studies—complex interpretations of the works based on the identification of the artist's sources in ancient sacred art from around the world—began in the early 1950s with the pioneering research of Bernard Dorival and Henri Dorra. The Symbolism of Paul Gauguin: Erotica, Exotica, and the Great Dilemmas of Humanity, Dorra's ultimate meditation on the art of Gauguin, constitutes a milestone in the history of Post-Impressionism."—Charles Stuckey is an independent scholar and consultant

Symbolic Action Theory and Cultural Psychology by Ernest E. Boesch Pdf

Gustav Jahoda University of Strathclyde Ever since psychology emerged as a separate discipline about a century ago, there have been differing views as to what it is or ought to be. Some, like Ebbinghaus, saw it as a budding natural science, experimental and quantitative. Others, like Dilthey, regarded psychology in the main as a humane field of study, historical and interpretative in character. The dichotomy of "explaining" versus "understanding" has been a subject of debate ever since. Regrettably, most of the protagonists of these respec tive positions tend to view them as mutually exclusive, in spite of the fact that already Wundt had stressed that "hard" experimental and "soft" VOlkerpsychologie are both equally important. For the major part of the present century the field has been largely dominated by advocates of "hard-nosed" scientific approaches, typified first by Behaviorism and, latterly, cognitive psychology which concen trates on central processes involved in cognition. Without in any way wishing to denigrate the undoubted achievements of cognitive psycholo gy, it has its limitations that are epitomized by T. H. Huxley's dictum "The great end of life is not knowledge but action". This might well serve as the motto for the action theory of Ernest Boesch, who is one of several prominent psychologists out of harmony with the prevailing ethos. They travel under different banners such as "social constructivism", "ethogen ics" or "hermeneutics", but all share reservations about what many feel is the arid "scientism" of the mainstream.

The Symbolism of Freemasonry by Albert G. Mackey Pdf

A legend differs from an historical narrative only in this-that it is without documentary evidence of authenticity. It is the offspring solely of tradition. Its details may be true in part or in whole. There may be no internal evidence to the contrary, or there may be internal evidence that they are altogether false. But neither the possibility of truth in the one case, nor the certainty of falsehood in the other, can remove the traditional narrative from the class of legends. It is a legend simply because it rests on no written foundation. It is oral, and therefore legendary.

Finishing the Mysteries of Gods and Symbols by Seven Star Hand Pdf

Here is comprehensive proof that the symbolism of many ancient texts, canons, and concepts is an advanced and extremely ancient spiritual and philosophical technology that predates all extant religions and mystery schools. Consequently, here is proof, beyond disproof, that all three so-called “Faiths of Abraham” are purposeful deceptions. Accordingly, related esoterica, mystery schools, and the New Age are rife with error caused by undue reliance upon the assertions of these religions and their leaders. Throughout this book, I present verifiable proof that ancient sages and prophets opposed religion and wisely never trusted religious leaders. As comprehensive validation of this, they redundantly encoded stunning proof of why throughout pivotal symbolic narratives and related concepts. The ancient sages and prophets hid vital secrets from religious leaders throughout the previous several millennia. When these decoded details are compared to the history, words, and deeds of these religions and their leaders, they finally prove the truth about many long-hidden things. These religions have always purposely imposed ignorance based on the deceptive recasting of earlier symbolic concepts and narratives; that also expertly encoded the keys to ancient wisdom as redundant proofs of the truth. Arrogant religious leaders, while hypocritically lecturing others about morality, have long overlooked that the ancient sages and prophets were painfully aware of their then-current and future misdeeds and deceptions, and patiently and expertly prepared for them !!!

The Symbolism of Freemasons by Albert Gallatin Mackey Pdf

The Symbolism of Freemasons is a book about the teachings and practices of the secret fraternal order of Free and Accepted Masons, the largest worldwide secret society. Freemasonry evolved from the guilds of stonemasons and cathedral builders of the Middle Ages which regulated the qualifications of stonemasons and their interaction with authorities and clients. The author traces the origins of Freemasonry and presents an adequate information and excellent foundation to understanding of how Freemasonry became what it is. The book mainly deals with signs and symbols of Freemasonry, illustrating and explaining its science and philosophy, and its legends and myths, providing a good background for many of the basics of modern day ritual and procedures.
