Love, Secrets, Betrayal, and Deaths by Marcia M. Edwards Pdf

This book is based on some of those experiences. Although I am not one of the main characters, it depicts the consequences of what lies, betrayal, and deception can cause. David thought he had it all but when he left his first love and moved to a different state to live his dream life, his life changed drastically. He remarried someone whom he thought was going to make his life complete. A wealthy, young, and beautiful doctor like himself, only she was a wolf in sheep clothing. She was living a double life while David praises and protects her. His first wife went through the worst and because she came from a poor and abusive family, she treated her child the way her mother treated her. She believes that lying to the ones she loves would save them the pain, only, in the end, it caused more harm. Suicide was an option for some, while drugs and alcohol were also a way out for others. Lies, betrayal, deception, these actions ruined the lives of these two families causing some to take their own lives. This thrilling book should teach us that being genuine and loyal to others will keep trust in any relationship. Also, drugs, alcohol nor suicide are the way to deal with the problems we face in life. Some of these can be an addiction, low-self-esteem, or even a sense of belonging. A simple talk with someone can help cure some of our everyday issues in life.

Love and Death in Medieval French and Occitan Courtly Literature by Simon Gaunt Pdf

Some of medieval culture's most arresting images and stories inextricably associate love and death. Thus the troubadour Jaufre Rudel dies in the arms of the countess of Tripoli, having loved her from afar without ever having seen her. Or in Marie de France's Chevrefoil, Tristan and Iseult's fatal love is hauntingly symbolized by the fatally entwined honeysuckle and hazel. And who could forget the ethereal spectacle of the Damoisele of Escalot's body carried to Camelot on a supernatural funerary boat with a letter on her breast explaining how her unrequited love for Lancelot killed her? Medieval literature is fascinated with the idea that love may be a fatal affliction. Indeed, it is frequently suggested that true love requires sacrifice, that you must be ready to die for, from, and in love. Love, in other words, is represented, sometimes explicitly, as a form of martyrdom, a notion that is repeatedly reinforced by courtly literature's borrowing of religious vocabulary and imagery. The paradigm of the martyr to love has of course remained compelling in the early modern and modern period. This book seeks to explore what is at stake in medieval literature's preoccupation with love's martyrdom. Informed by modern theoretical approaches, particularly Lacanian psychoanalysis and Jacques Derrida's work on ethics, it offers new readings of a wide range of French and Occitan courtly texts from the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, and argues that a new secular ethics of desire emerges from courtly literature because of its fascination with death. This book also examines the interplay between lyric and romance in courtly literary culture and shows how courtly literature's predilection for sacrificial desire imposes a repressive sex-gender system that may then be subverted by fictional women and queers who either fail to die on cue, or who die in troublesome and disruptive ways.

The Simple Secret by Joshua Graves Pdf

Jesus’ understanding of love separates him from many of the great religious leaders in world history. Jesus believed it was possible to love every person we encounter: children, partners, friends, strangers, the vulnerable, the poor, enemies, and planet Earth itself. The meaning of life is not mysterious after all. According to Jesus, the purpose of our existence is to love and be loved. When we take our last breath, our life will be measured by the love we gave to each person we encountered. The secret of life, it turns out, is not a secret at all.

Writing Death by Jeremy Fernando Pdf

Writing Death opens a meditation on the possibility of mourning; of whether there is a subject, or even object, that one mourns--of whether one is mourning, can only mourn, the very impossibility of mourning itself. The manuscript is framed by two attempts at mourning--Avital Ronell's "The Tactlessness of an Unending Fadeout" and Jeremy Fernando's "adieu." In-between--for this is where both pieces posit the possibility of attending to the passing, the memory, the fading of the person--is an attempt to think this impossibility. The text is continually haunted by the question of whether one is mourning the person as such, or a particular version of the person, a reading of the person. And in reading another, in attempting to respond to the other, one can never have the metaphysical comfort that one is reading accurately, correctly; in fact, one may always already be re-writing the person. Thus, all one can do is attempt to mourn the name of that person, whilst never being certain of whether her name even refers to her any longer. All one can do is write death.

Death By Betrayal by Abigail Keam Pdf

Betrayal – The act of thwarting a person’s trust, revealing information in violation of confidence, or failing to honor a promise. Josiah knows all about betrayal. In the glamorous Bluegrass world of oak-cured bourbon, antebellum mansions, and Thoroughbred horse farms, betrayals never die—never remain hidden. The dark and bloody land called Kentucky eventually gives up its secrets from its dark, loamy soil, laying them bare for all to see. The day starts out innocently with Josiah visiting Hunter, her boyfriend, and his new farm assistant, Palley. The young man tells Josiah of his desire to enter the demolition derby at the county fair. Ever since Palley received his driver’s license, he has been waiting to compete, but he needs an old beater of a car to enter. Josiah tells Palley he is welcome to use an old jalopy that’s been gathering dust in an unused barn on her property. Josiah and an excited Palley travel to her shed. Pulling off an old tarp, they examine the car until they find—you guessed it—a body in the back. Whose body is it? How did it get there? Josiah is on the trail of murder again. In the mysterious Bluegrass, there’s justice, and then there is Josiah’s justice!
