Mother and Child by Claiborne Swanson Frank Pdf

In the latest body of work by author and photographer Claiborne Swanson Frank, the artist set out to explore what modern motherhood means in the 21st century. Turning her lens on 70 iconic families of mothers and children from such celebrated names as Delfina Figueras, Carolina Herrera, Lauren Santo Domingo, Anne Vyalitsyna, Aerin Lauder, and Patti Hansen, Swanson Frank’s stunning portraits capture the emotional bonds and beauty that frame the primal relationship of a mother and her child. Complementing her work is a series of questions-and-answers, in which Swanson Frank delicately tasks each mother to look within themselves and express what being a mother truly means to them. Their answers, while exceedingly thoughtful and introspective, are also amusing, fascinating, and moving. Each one of these deeply intimate and stunning portraits will captivate and inspire readers as they embark on this profound journey that reminds us all of the power of motherhood and the great gift of love.

Maa Beti by Gita Baksi,Mallika Sothinathan Pdf

This book is very special as it has precious gems. These gems are our moments together. Mom and I spent very special moments together after everyone left us after Dad passed away. Just the two of us were in the apartment, and we were discovering our lives together. My visits to India are short; by March, I return to Canada. I am not able to take the dry heat. Interestingly this year, many people from India and Delhi in special felt a different heat. The wrath of Corona. Many families were affected, and we soon became headlines with the Delta variant. I lost 8 family and friends. We were already grieving Dad's loss, and now we had these sudden demises. Maa became clingy to her phone and kept a tab of who was with us and who wasn't. She looked lost. My brother called us and motivated us so, did all the grandsons; Mom enjoys talking to her grandson. I persuaded Mom that we needed to go to Canada as my son was waiting. Mom loves India, her plants, her friends and then she showed me her diary where she wrote her poetry. Mom loves to write Bengali poems, and she loves to recite them. The books title is Maa beti because people in the Orchid petal colony, Gurgaon, call us by that name. This was first coined when we took our first Covid jab. Incidentally, 90 percent of the people residing here have taken the stab.

Past and Present: Perspectives on Gender and Love by Kelly Gardiner,Sina V. Pfister Pdf

This volume was first published by Inter-Disciplinary Press in 2015. How do humans conceive of, enact, embody, perform, control, commodify, proscribe and portray love and gender? How are our bodies, our identities, our beliefs, our representations of ourselves affected by love and gender – or perceptions of love and gender? What don’t we know? What don’t we talk about? Why? Have answers to all these questions changed over time? Across cultures? These and many other questions lie at the heart of this volume on the changing natures and intertwining of gender and love. Its contents encompass concepts of love within and of the self, in families and between specific family members, in sexual and intimate relationships, in spiritual practice, in communities, and seen through many different lenses and from a range of disciplines and approaches. Readers may be left with more questions than answers: we certainly hope so.
