Magical Knowledge Book I Foundations/ The Lone Practitioner by Josephine McCarthy Pdf

"Here you have a book that will help you, and an author whose views you can respect. More than this, you may safely trust her practical guidance, which is drawn from a long and varied experience of working alone and with others. She is a gifted teacher, perceptive and critical: perhaps more important, she is also human . . . there is no question but that the magical path is a hard road that requires dedication, discrimination and a solid dose of common sense . . . if you are determined to follow the magical path, and if you employ these three qualities, you will be hard pressed indeed to find a better guide than Magical Knowledge." RA GilbertMagical Knowledge book I is the first in a series of three that takes the reader through the bends and twists of serious magical study. This book tackles some of the more pressing issues surrounding the early quest for knowledge from the world of magic, along with techniques, exercises and warnings for those ready to dip their toe in the scalding hot water of power. Using her usual no nonsense down to earth approach, McCarthy outlines in depth some of the rarely tackled issues and problems that face a serious modern magician, offering advice and reflections based on 30 years of practical work. The book follows no specific magical path; rather it takes the reader to the layers of consciousness beneath such paths and shows us the various techniques, powers and dynamics that underpin most Western Mystery schools and lodges. The reader is shown how ritual actually works, what an inner contact actually is, how to make visions work, how to turn an object into a magically charged implement, how to read tarot, how to clean and protect yourself, and most importantly of all, how to spot the bullshit. Josephine McCarthy is a seasoned occultist and author living in the Dartmoor National Park in the UK. She has taught and led magical groups in the USA and UK for many years, and has written a variety of magical fiction and non fiction. Her more recent publications include 'The Work of the Hierophant' and 'The Exorcist's Handbook'.

Learning Ritual Magic by John Michael Greer,Earl King, Jr.,Clare Vaughn Pdf

Learning Ritual Magic is a training manual for anyone serious about improving their magic based on the western mystery traditions, including tarot, ritual magic, Qabalah, and astrology. "What you get out of [magic] can be measured precisely by what you are willing to put into it- and time is the essential ingredient in successful magical training," the authors write. And just as no one expects to run a marathon or play a Bach violin concerto without sufficient training, so practitioners of the magical arts shouldn't expect to work complex, powerful magical rituals without a solid grounding in the techniques of Hermetic high magic. By spending at least a half hour a day practicing the lessons found in Learning Ritual Magic, the solitary apprentice attains the proper groundwork and experience for working ritual magic. Learning Ritual Magic provides lessons on meditation and a set of exercises designed to develop basic skills in imagination, will, memory, and self-knowledge, all of which are absolute fundamentals to magical attainment. While the authors discuss the essentials of magical theory, they focus on daily, basic perspectives rather than launching into details of advanced practice. Designed for the solitary practitioner, Learning Ritual Magic concludes with a ceremony of self-initiation.

A Course of Instruction of Theory & Practice of Magic+ Magical Evocation + Magical Words by Franz Bardon Pdf

This volume contains all three books of theoretical and practical use by Franz Bardon. Franz Bardon needs no introduction in the field of Magic, Evocation, occultism, practical use of the first three tarot cards, use of magical words and letters. A Course of Instruction of Theory & Practice of Magic+ Magical Evocation + Magical Words Anyone who should believe to find in this work nothing else but a collection of recipes, with the aid of which he can easily and without any effort attain to honor and glory, riches and power and aim at the annihilation of his enemies, might be told from the very inception, that he will put aside this book, being very disappointed. Numerous sects and religions do not understand the expression of “magic” otherwise than black art, witchcraft or conspiracy with evil powers. It is therefore not astonishing that many people are frightened by a certain horror, whenever the word “magic” is pronounced. Jugglers, conjurers, and charlatans have discredited this term and, considering this circumstance, there is no surprise that magic knowledge has always been looked upon with a slight disregard. Even in the remotest times the MAGUS has been regarded as one of the highest adepts and it might be of interest to learn that, as a matter of fact, the word “magic” is derived from this word. The so called “sorcerers” are by no means initiates but only imitators o the mysteries, who counting partly on the ignorance and partly on the credulity of the individuality or a whole nation in order to reach their selfish aims by, lies and fraud. The true magician will always despise such practices. In reality, magic is a sacred science, it is, in the very true sense the sum of all knowledge because it teaches how to know and utilize the sovereign rules. There is no difference between magic and mystic or any other conception of the name. Wherever authentic initiation is at stake, one has to proceed on the same basis, according to the same rules, irrespective of the name given by this or that creed. Considering the universal polarity rules of good and evil, active and passive, light and shadow, each science can serve good as well as bad purposes. Let us take the example of a knife, an object that virtually ought to be used for cutting bread only, which, however, can become a dangerous weapon in the hands of a murderer. All depends on the character of the individual. This principle goes just as well for all the spheres of the occult sciences. In my book I have chosen the term of “magician” for all of my disciples, it being a symbol of the deepest initiation and the highest wisdom. Many of the readers will know, of course, that the word “tarot” does not mean a game of cards, serving mantical purposes, but a symbolic book of initiation which contains the greatest secrets in a symbolic form. The first tablet of this book introduces the magician representing him as the master of the elements and offering the key to the first Arcanum, the secret of the ineffable name of Tetragrammaton*, the quabbalistic Yod-He-Vau-He. Here we will, therefore, find the gate to the magician’s initiation. The reader will easily realize, how significant and how manifold the application of this tablet is. Not one of the books published up to date does describe the true sense of the first Tarot card so distinctly as I have done in my book. It is – let it be noted – born from the own practice and destined for the practical use of a lot of other people, and all my disciples have found it to be the best and most serviceable system. *Tetragrammaton literally means “the four-letter word”. It was a subterfuge to avoid the sin of uttering the sacred name YHVH (Yahveh) or Jehova as it later became when the vowels of another word were combined with the consonants of YHVH. But I would never dare to say that my book describes or deals with all the magic or mystic problems. If anyone should like to write all about this sublime wisdom, he ought to fill folio volumes. It can, however, be affirmed positively that this work is indeed the gate to the true initiation, the first key to using the universal rules. I am not going to deny the fact of fragments being able to be found in many an author’s publications, but not in a single book will the reader find so exact a description of the first Tarot card. I have taken pains to be as plain as possible in the course of the lectures to make the sublime Truth accessible to everybody, although it has been a hard task sometimes to find such simple words as are necessary for the understanding of all the readers. I must leave it to the judgment of all of you, whether or not my efforts have been successful. At certain points I have been forced to repeat myself deliberately to emphasize some important sentences and to spare the reader any going back to a particular page. There have been many complaints of people interested in the occult sciences that they had never got any chance at all to be initiated by a personal master or leader (guru). Therefore only people endowed with exceptional faculties, a poor preferred minority seemed to be able to gain this sublime knowledge. Thus a great many of serious seekers of the truth had to go through piles of books just to catch one pearl of it now and again. The one, however, who is earnestly interested in his progress and does not pursue this sacred wisdom from sheer curiosity or else is yearning to satisfy his own lust, will find the right leader to initiate him in this book. No incarnate adept, however high his rank may be, can give the disciple more for his start than the present book does. If both the honest trainee and the attentive reader will find in this book all they have been searching for in vain all the years, then the book has fulfilled its purpose completely. The Author.

Quareia the Apprentice by Josephine McCarthy Pdf

Quareia the Apprentice Book One is the first of fifteen workbooks containing two modules each. Book One contains the first two modules of the Quareia Apprentice training and covers 'core skills', and 'patterns and maps in magic'. The full section of the Quareia Apprentice which includes all ten modules is also available in paperback and hardback forms. The course is spread over three sections: Apprentice, Initiate, and Adept. Each section has ten modules, and each module has eight lessons. Each of the three sections is approximately five hundred thousand words: it is the most extensive, in-depth, and intelligent up to date magical course that is currently available worldwide. The methods, information and techniques in the course enable the magician to engage any form of magic and work with it appropriately with the full knowledge of how that magic works, why it works and what is behind it. It also starts to guide the magician along the mystical path, a path that reaches beyond religions and faith, and one where the adept moves into mystical union with the universe around them. The lessons are detailed: each lesson has a very practical application which in turn develops the 'magical muscle' within the magician, thus preparing them for the power they will be exposed to in subsequent study sections. It is not reference material or 'recipe magic' that can be dipped in and out of: the understanding of the foundations comes from the dovetailing, study, and layering of magic that forms within and around the apprentice. It is designed to be self-taught, with every detail and step assigned carefully and practically. By the end of this section, the apprentice will have all of the skills, knowledge and strength to take on the challenge of the next stage of training. Author The Quareia course is written in its entirety by magical adept and the Director of Quareia, Josephine McCarthy. Josephine has been involved in magic for forty years and has been teaching and writing about magic for over twenty five years. She is considered a revolutionizing force in the teaching of western magic, and one of the most prominent adepts of western magic alive today. Quareia is a school that is open to anyone, and is free and accessible online at any time. It is a school that is entirely focused on teaching the most essential skills in magic, with unknown precision and depth in its materials. Yet it is free from any specific one style or specific religious overlay: various styles and religious patterns are studied and at times worked with in depth, but there is no one creed, culture or system that forms the foundation basis of the training: it is itself.

Mastering the Art of Ritual Magick by Frater Barrabbas Pdf

Mastering the Art of Ritual Magick is a sophisticated yet down-to-earth guidebook for the ritual magician looking to develop a proficiency in their magical practices. Enhance Your Power Like Never Before Mastering the Art of Ritual Magick contains three volumes that represent a comprehensive approach to developing a personal system of magic. Meant for the practitioner who has some magical experience, this book combines several forms of magick that are extended and joined together to form a unique approach for a solitary or group practice of ritual magic. The volumes are as follows: Volume 1 - Foundation establishes the basic practices and experiential knowledge required to unlock the knowledge base that is used to formulate and perform this unique approach to ritual magic. Volume 2 - Grimoire introduces the practitioner to the basic set of nine modular rituals that are used to build up a complete Wiccan or pagan ritual magic regimen. This suite of rituals represents the kinds of magic that an intermediate ritual magician must master to proceed to more advanced work. Volume 3 - The Greater Key demonstrates how the nine basic rituals can be developed and customized to become a uniquely personal grimoire of rituals. The key itself is a system of correspondences that the magician builds up with his or her own personalized symbology--such a key can be used to develop other rituals or unlock entire systems of magic. Of course, there is so much more material in these three volumes than what is simply stated here. You are invited to explore these magical systems from Frater Barrabbas in this groundbreaking book.
