This comprehensive plastic surgery manual on breast reshaping explains in detail the various surgical procedures carried out towards increasing the aesthetic appearance of the breast. Today the surgical management of the breast crosses the lines of gender. Male breast or gynaecomastia is an equally vexing problem for the young as well as the old alike. This volume discusses the surgical management of this aesthetic nightmare in a step by step manner with photographs, illustrations, schematics and short videos. This book comprehensively covers the four major conditions requiring surgical breast reshaping. The first being a small breast, requiring solutions including fat grafting or a US FDA approved cohesive silicone gel implant. Needless to say this is a very gratifying procedure providing immediate results with little or no downtime. This volume also covers important topics such as breast reduction in young and older patients which are a very challenging operation for most surgeons’ particularly recent graduates. This volume also deals with the complexities of this procedure taking into account all the factors that will help the reader have a successful outcome. It contains important chapters on the situation of post pregnancy when the women experience the ‘post-partum blues’ secondary to dysmorphic changes to the body, particularly the Breast and its management. Manual of Aesthetic Surgery by Werner Mang Pdf

At the request of Springer-Verlag, Heidelberg, I have written with pride and pleasure the new edition of the Manual of Aesthetic Surgery. Volumes1(headand neckregion)and 2(body)havebeen integrated into one volume, which has been revised and extended with the addition of the topics “Cosmetic Aesthetic Surgery,” “Breast Surgery,” “Mini Lift,” “Mini Abdomen,” “Buttock Lift,” and “Tumescence Li- suction with the MicroAire® System.” The current trend is towards gentle surgical methods. The ‘Mang School’ has as its motto: Less is more! You should not see cosmetic s- gery. Aesthetic surgery is feel-good surgery and not altering surgery. That should be the philosophy of this book. The first editions of both volumes of the Manual of Aesthetic Surgery had high print runs and were translated into many languages, including Spanish, Russian, and Chinese. The new edition bridges a few gaps, namely breast lifting and breast reduction. These operations are described in detail in order to provide also plastic and aesthetic surgeons with standards. Standards are of crucial importance in aesthetic surgery. Results must be reproducible. Every aesthetic surgeon will then be able to build on this manual and refine his or her methods.

Manual of Aesthetic Surgery by J.C. Fisher,J. Guerrerosantos,M. Gleason Pdf

Initially we asked Springer-Verlag why they thought the world needed another book about aesthetic surgery. They pointed to the popularity of the Compre hensive Manual of Surgical Specialties Series, suggesting that completeness required our contribution. We recalled the current masters of aesthetic surgery: Rees, Sheen, among others. Each had produced his own monograph-all of them established classics. What could we add? Furthermore none of us was recognized exclusively for aesthetic surgery achievements. Nevertheless, each of us was committed to the challenge of teaching residents aesthetic surgery during their residency, not afterward as was done in the past. Furthermore, Dick Egdahl, Senior Editor and designer of CMSS, made clear to us the specific orientation of the manuals to residents-in-training. as did Springer-Verlag, well known for their commitment He won our support, to high-quality color illustrations. We appreciate being asked by Dr. Egdahl to contribute to CMSS. We were not even offended by his original plan to embrace all of plastic surgery in one volume. He should have known better! The Manual of Reconstructive Surgery will follow this volume in 2 years. Defining its scope remains an unmet challenge. Limiting the scope of Manual of Aesthetic Surgery has been an easier task. It is a sourcebook for beginning residents, not an encyclopedic reference.

Problems in Breast Surgery by Jack Fisher,Neal Handel Pdf

Problems in Breast Surgery: A Repair Manual is destined to become a valued part of every plastic surgeon and breast surgeon’s library. This unique book provides a virtual lifeline for addressing the challenges encountered in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery and avoiding possible problems and complications. This is not a traditional technique-oriented textbook; rather, it has a problem focus and provides different solutions for solving complex problems associated with secondary breast surgery. The book begins with chapters on the basic principles of corrective breast surgery and the key anatomic factors and mechanisms of failure that are key to accurate analysis. With this foundation in place, it proceeds to address the spectrum of potential problems that can occur with each of the different procedures, ranging from breast augmentation, reduction, and mastopexy to breast and nipple-areola reconstruction. Each chapter is introduced with a specific problem presented by Drs. Fisher and Handel. Then the second portion of the chapter features a variety of solutions from different experts for treating the problem. These experts provide case examples of similar problems with a step-by-step explanation of how they solved these problems and why they took the approach that they used. The book covers both aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery. The goal of this text is not to judge which solution is the best (that decision is left to the reader). Rather, it is designed to provide a detailed road map explaining how to move from point A, the problem, to point B, the solution. Beautifully Illustrated Dramatic color illustrations and numerous preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative images help readers visualize the steps of each operative solution. Unique Features This book’s approach is unique and should be of great educational value to surgeons—both residents and practitioners—in solving challenging problems and complications. Even more important, it will help them avoid problems and complications in future cases.
