Manual of Urodynamics by Mayank Mohan Agarwal Pdf

Urodynamics is the investigation of the function of the lower urinary tract – the bladder and urethra – using physical measurements, such as urine pressure and flow rate as well as clinical assessment (netdoctor). This book is a concise guide to urodynamics (UDS) for trainee urologists. Beginning with an introduction to the anatomy and physiology of the lower urinary tract, the next section discusses clinical assessment which begins with a medical history and examination – which may reveal abnormalities within the lower abdomen or pelvis that are contributing to the lower urinary tract symptoms. The patient is then given a urination (voiding) diary to be kept for three days, to document their fluid intake and output, including episodes of incontinence (netdoctor). Each of the following chapters examines a different UDS test and its interpretation. The final sections describe representative clinical cases, and reporting on urodynamics. Key points Concise guide to urodynamics (UDS) for trainee urologists Detailed coverage of clinical assessment and different UDS tests Includes chapter on representative clinical cases Features more than 75 images and illustrations

Urodynamics by Giancarlo Vignoli Pdf

This pocket guide is an easy-to-use, practically oriented resource that provides reliable information and advice on the technical aspects of urodynamic techniques, the interpretation of tracings, quality control, and the most common pitfalls. Individual sections focus on uroflowmetry, multichannel urodynamics, interpretation of pressure/flow tracings, urethral function studies, pelvic floor electromyography, videourodynamics, and urodynamics of the upper urinary tract. Despite recent criticisms, there is general agreement that urodynamic investigation represents a necessary step before any surgical approach to incontinence and obstruction. Nevertheless, recently published guidelines fail to provide specific directions on performance and interpretation of urodynamics, and knowledge of the basic rules and formal urodynamics training are too often lacking. Readers will find that this guide enables them to retrieve key information quickly and to feel more confident in their practice of urodynamics.

Female Pelvic Medicine by Kathleen C. Kobashi,Steven D. Wexner Pdf

This book is designed as a guide for management of advanced clinical scenarios encountered by the contemporary pelvic floor surgeon. It is organized by pelvic floor disorder (PFD) and covers the evaluation and treatment of urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse. Opening chapters in each section cover the fundamentals of proper and comprehensive assessment of patient PFDs, as well as the treatment options that are available for each disorder. The book then focuses on more complex and challenging situations that are becoming more frequently encountered as the number of patients being treated for PFD increases and the length of patient follow-up grows. Each chapter finally includes an expert commentary to address these new scenarios and offers a shifted approach from that required for treatment-naïve patients. Female Pelvic Medicine: Challenging Cases with Expert Commentary teaches the reader how to approach the most difficult of clinical situations in a multidisciplinary fashion.

Urodynamics by Paul Abrams Pdf

This brand new edition describes in detail the tests involved in urodynamic investigation and shows in which clinical areas these tests can help the management of patients. The authors concentrate on common clinical problems and on the presentation of symptom complexes rather than diagnosis, pointing out any limitations and possible artefacts of investigation. * The new edition takes into account the technological innovations that have taken place over the last 10 years, while retaining the original objectives of the first edition. * The subject is presented so simply that a clinician with no previous experience will learn how to use the appropriate equipment in the correct situation. * Urodynamic investigation is described in such detail that it can be accepted in its own right as a fundamental contribution to the management of many patients. After reading this book, clinicians will appreciate the value and limitations of the subject and will have obtained the necessary practical advice on which equipment to use in which situation.
