Beloved by Toni Morrison Pdf

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize, Toni Morrison’s Beloved is a spellbinding and dazzlingly innovative portrait of a woman haunted by the past. Sethe was born a slave and escaped to Ohio, but eighteen years later she is still not free. She has borne the unthinkable and not gone mad, yet she is still held captive by memories of Sweet Home, the beautiful farm where so many hideous things happened. Meanwhile Sethe’s house has long been troubled by the angry, destructive ghost of her baby, who died nameless and whose tombstone is engraved with a single word: Beloved. Sethe works at beating back the past, but it makes itself heard and felt incessantly in her memory and in the lives of those around her. When a mysterious teenage girl arrives, calling herself Beloved, Sethe’s terrible secret explodes into the present. Combining the visionary power of legend with the unassailable truth of history, Morrison’s unforgettable novel is one of the great and enduring works of American literature.

Celeste is a born-again charismatic Christian who sought and received many manifestations of the Gifts of Gods Holy Spirit in the end of the 1960s. Her people believe in reading the Bible, prayer and pure living. Charismatic believers of all faiths know He has never stopped communing with His own peopleeven until the end of time. It is believed by many He is again pouring out His Spirit upon all flesh. Miracles, tongues, prophesy, discernment, healing, knowledge, etc. are still in operation. He told His people they would perform even greater miracles than He has done. The authors are attempting to allow readers to find their own personal pathways and interpretations as seekers of knowledge and wisdom as they read through the prophetic messages received by Celeste since that time in 1965. He desires to share Himself with her and others who will hear His voice. If one is able to open ones heart, He may come into your heart center as the Living Lord Jesus. He wishes to show Himself to those who may not have had a chance to know Him or to understand the powers of His manifold life and teachings.

The Rhetoric of Emotions by Robert Perinbanayagam Pdf

Kenneth Burke, founder of the critical method of dramatism, believed that motives and attitudes are constantly generated by individuals as they encounter social situations and material objects in the course of their everyday lives. In The Rhetoric of Emotions, Robert Perinbanayagam proposes that by analysing individuals' experiences, especially through their interaction with creative outlets, we can come to a deeper understanding of how the human mind systematically approaches the emotive process. The author maintains that individuals use spoken language, and all other forms of symbolism, including art and literature, to elicit social cooperation and emotional understanding, both in regard to the world around them and within themselves. Rhetoric and culture are mechanisms for managing values, behaviour, and emotions. In order to ground this philosophical viewpoint, Perinbanayagam strategically discusses famous novels and paintings to show how individuals construct emotional responses to the rhetorical objects at their disposal. In addition to the ideas of Burke and George Herbert Mead, the ideas of Max Weber, Georg Simmel, Charles Sanders Peirce, Edmund Husserl, Alfred Schutz, and Erving Goffman are also reflected in this provocative analysis.

You Are Beloved by Bobby Schuller Pdf

You're not what you do. You're not what you have. You are not what others say about you. You are God's beloved. Are you ever concerned that you don’t deserve to love and be loved because you are continually having to prove yourself? In You Are Beloved, Bobby Schuller shows you how to let go of these fears and put your trust in the One who sees you for who you really are. Here is an easy to follow, proven path to personal dignity for all those who think they are not good enough no matter how much they achieve. This path is illuminated by the truths that it is not about what you accomplish, but what has already been accomplished for you; not about what you have, but what has already been provided; and not about who others say you are, but who God says you are. Know that you are valued, cared for, and embraced. You Are Beloved will help you rebuild your life as a response to that assurance.

Endtime Messages for the Bride of Christ by Deva Evu Lawrie Pdf

The Christian world is awaiting the Second Coming of Christ to take the Bride of Chist with him in glory, which we call Rapture. There are many explanations from various quarters. The First Coming of Christ is past. The Third Coming will take place when Christ, the son of David comes down on the Mount of Olives to rule the earth for a millennium. The Second Coming is on. The author Bro. Deva Evu Lawrie had had an experience of peace with God early in life at the age of eight. He had been a keen observer in the ministry of his father. He was a student of the famous Madras Christian College, Tambaram, Chennai. He became a full-time minister of religion when he was eighteen. He had been working with his dad since then. There was a great turning point when his dad, Bro. Paulaseer Lawrie, was preaching at Chicago, USA. He had a great experience of God coming down into him when man first landed on the moon on July 20, 1969. The sky opened, and he could see and feel a great and terrific power enter into his life (Luke 3: 2122). In these pages, Bro. Deva Evu Lawrie, the author, shows that most of the prophecies and things concerning the Second Coming have been fulfilled in the ministry of Bro. Paulaseer Lawrie of India. He cites mostly from the Holy Scriptures. He wants the readers to go through the book carefully so that they do not miss the glory that God had foreordained for us in this generation. A Sufi Message of Spiritual Liberty (Complete) by Hazrat Inayat Khan Pdf

The ideal perfection, called Baqa by Sufis, is termed 'Najat' in Islam, 'Nirvana' in Buddhism, 'Salvation' in Christianity, and 'Mukhti' in Hinduism. This is the highest condition attainable, and all ancient prophets and sages experienced it, and taught it to the world. Baqa is the original state of God. At this state every being must arrive some day, consciously or unconsciously, before or after death. The beginning and end of all beings is the same, difference only existing during the journey. There are three ways in man's journey towards God. The first is the way of ignorance, through which each must travel. It is like a person walking for miles in the sun while carrying a heavy load on his shoulder, who, when fatigued, throws away the load and falls asleep under the shade of a tree. Such is the condition of the average person, who spends his life blindly under the influence of his senses and gathers the load of his evil actions; the agonies of his earthly longings creating a hell through which he must pass to reach the destination of his journey. With regard to him the Qur'an says, 'He who is blind in life, shall also be blind in the hereafter.' The next way is that of devotion, which is for true lovers. Rumi says, 'Man may be the lover of man or the lover of God; after his perfection in either he is taken before the King of love.' Devotion is the heavenly wine, which intoxicates the devotee until his heart becomes purified from all infirmities and there remains the happy vision of the Beloved, which lasts to the end of the journey. 'Death is a bridge, which unites friend to friend' ( Sayings of Mohammed). The third is the way of wisdom, accomplished only by the few. The disciple disregards life's momentary comforts, unties himself from all earthly bondages and turns his eyes toward God, inspired with divine wisdom. He gains command over his body, his thoughts and feelings, and is thereby enabled to create his own heaven within himself, that he may rejoice until merged into the eternal goal. 'We have stripped the veil from thine eyes, and thy sight today is keen', says the Qur'an. All must journey along one of these three paths, but in the end they arrive at one and the same goal. As it is said in the Qur'an, 'It is He who multiplied you on the earth, and to Him you shall be gathered.'
