Miracles, Mystics, Mathematicians by Sasho Kalajdzievski Pdf

Miracles, Mystics, Mathematicians: Searching for Deep Reality focuses on the lives and writings of some of history’s most influential mathematicians and the impact that their mystical beliefs had on their lives and on their mathematical work. Modern biographers often cleanse the lives of renowned scientists of any hint of mysticism or occultism. Such threads are sometimes regarded as relics of the superstitious past; flaws that need to be hushed up, marginalized, or reinterpreted. This book represents a minor attempt to push back against this tendency and to examine these aspects of the history of mathematics with seriousness and intellectual curiosity. Features A breadth of scope covering many centuries Suitable for anyone interested in mathematics, history, philosophy, paranormal phenomena, psi-research, mysticism, or in any combination of the above An almost unique account of known histories, examined from a new vantage point Sasho Kalajdzievski is a Senior Scholar in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Manitoba.

The Social Relations of Physics, Mysticism, and Mathematics by S. Restivo Pdf

The problems I address in this book are among the least studied in the soci ology of science and knowledge. Part I is a critique of the claim that there are parallels between ancient mysticism and modern physics, and a sociological analysis of this claim as a strategy in intellectual conflict. This study must. ultimately be rooted more firmly in a: type of sociology of knowledge that is just now beginning to crystallize (and which I discuss in Chapter 7), and a sociology of religion that is not so much unknown as underground, and timid, that is, a non-worshipful materialist sociology of religion. My study of physics-mysticism parallelism is a vehicle for exploring epistemic strategies. I thus conclude Part I by sketching a materialist, emancipatory epistemic strategy. My conclusion brings together a number of ideas formulated by myself and others over the past several years, but stops short of a systematic synthesis. A more integrated and coherent "model" than what I can sketch here must wait on the results of research now in progress in the critical (as opposed to apologetic or worshipful) sociology of knowledge.

The Loom of God by Clifford A. Pickover Pdf

“A marvelously entertaining, historical romp through the unexpected connections between mathematics and mysticism” (Paul Hoffman, Discover). From the mysterious cult of Pythagoras to the awesome mechanics of Stonehenge to digitally generated “gargoyles” and fractals, mathematics has always been a powerful, even divine force in the world. In a lively, intelligent synthesis of math, mysticism, and science fiction, Clifford Pickover explains the eternal magic of numbers. Taking a uniquely humorous approach, he appoints readers “Chief Historian” of an intergalactic museum and sends them, along with a quirky cast of characters, hurtling through the ages to explore how individuals used numbers for such purposes as predicting the end of the world, finding love, and winning wars.

The Dynamic Concepts of Philosophical Mathematics by Anthony Ugochukwu O. Aliche Pdf

In The Dynamic Concept of Philosophical Mathematics, author Anthony Ugochukwu O. Aliche delves deeply into a comprehensive discussion into the intertwined relationship between philosophy and mathematics. Aliche begins by defining philosophical mathematics and traces its origins and its branches. He then relates the concept to the worlds of science, engineering, technology, creative and applied arts, and human existence. In this systemic, practical and research-driven work, Aliche presents innovative interpretations of mathematical and philosophical issues and reexamines their relevance and applicability to modern developments. He also proposes abolishing most ancient and primordial mathematical policies and formulas, as they are not helping the world of science and technology to grow. Presenting principles, practices, and theories, The Dynamic Concept of Philosophical Mathematics demystifies the oracle of mathematics and communicates that knowledge is power and must therefore be progressive. He equally insisted that the progressive nature of knowledge which must be God-driven fundamentally fulcrumed the demystification of QED which he replaced with the Infinitude Method which scientifically agrees with the progressive dynamism of knowledge. "A product of seasoned scholarship, natural wisdom, empirical research, and inspired originality. It is perhaps one of the most sophisticated intellectual inputs to the world of knowledge"

This is a story about a very unique young man, a man who, in essence, was truly a child at heart. Yet itaEUR(tm)s a story of great triumph, a story where victory came into his life. Tristan encountered his tragedy at a very young age, when he was four years old. In life, we either overcome tragedies, or they will overcome us. This is the story of how Tristan overcame his and became the wonderful child you will read about. There was much pain, suffering, heartbreak, and rejection in his short life. Yet this precious child emerged victorious when it was all said and done. He was blessed with many gifts and talents, and he was able to express these through his writings, which I have shared herein. One of his best gifts was his ability to love others despite his lifeaEUR(tm)s struggles. He had a heart of compassion for the less fortunate. He loved others with his whole heart. He was a very intelligent young man, had a great sense of humor, and was a wonderful poet. His life definitely inspired me. This story is about a child who battled sexual abuse at a very young age, rejection, and drug abuse. Yet he overcame, and I hope it inspires others with the same hope, that they also can overcome. It was a great privilege for me to know this precious child, and IaEUR(tm)m sure that those who read his story will come to feel the same. ItaEUR(tm)s a story of triumph.

Enthusiastic Mathematics by Bernie Lewin Pdf

Fifty years ago, a small sparse book came out under the pretentious title Laws of Form. Its author might have once fallen in with the logical philosophers of Cambridge, including Russell and Wittgenstein. But only later, while designing primitive switching circuits for British Rail, did George Spencer Brown come upon the arithmetic underlying Boolean algebra. Laws of Form flips the reduction of mathematics to logic, revealing simple laws of being and knowing that only reflect what great mystics, East and West, have been saying all along. Enthusiastic Mathematics offers the first thorough, philosophical introduction to Laws of Form. With no presumption for logic or mathematics, the reader is delivered into its philosophical vision via a colourful journey through the history of science.
