Mommy's Landlord by S. E. Law Pdf

Xavier Carlton is my mom's gorgeous landlord. He's growly, handsome, and sooo delicious. But he's going to kick my mom out of her apartment unless I call him Daddy. My mom has never been great at paying bills. She's not poor, she's just forgetful sometimes. So when she tells me that Mr. Carlton wants her out, I get angry. Who does this man think he is? Sure, Xavier Carlton has more money than God, but that doesn't give him the right to act like a tyrant. So I storm into his office ... His blue eyes seize mine ... and suddenly, I realize I'm in over my head. Because when he rises from behind his desk, I see that Mr. Carlton has an enormous present for me! But then, the powerful CEO takes me by surprise because he says I can do something special to qualify for a one-time rent break. But am I willing to take the chance when it involves calling the handsome man DADDY? This story is a forbidden, sweet and steamy tale filled with an OVER THE TOP alpha male and a sassy, feisty girl with a strong will. Katie likes lollipops and Xavier Carlton enjoys teaching her the benefits of eating candy. Warning: light DD/lg age play ahead. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and always an HEA for my readers.

Abstract Barrios by Johana Londoño Pdf

In Abstract Barrios Johana Londoño examines how Latinized urban landscapes are made palatable for white Americans. Such Latinized urban landscapes, she observes, especially appear when whites feel threatened by concentrations of Latinx populations, commonly known as barrios. Drawing on archival research, interviews, and visual analysis of barrio built environments, Londoño shows how over the past seventy years urban planners, architects, designers, policy makers, business owners, and other brokers took abstracted elements from barrio design—such as spatial layouts or bright colors—to safely “Latinize” cities and manage a long-standing urban crisis of Latinx belonging. The built environments that resulted ranged from idealized notions of authentic Puerto Rican culture in the interior design of New York City’s public housing in the 1950s, which sought to diminish concerns over Puerto Rican settlement, to the Fiesta Marketplace in downtown Santa Ana, California, built to counteract white flight in the 1980s. Ultimately, Londoño demonstrates that abstracted barrio culture and aesthetics sustain the economic and cultural viability of normalized, white, and middle-class urban spaces.

The Adolescent Owner's Manual by William H. Glover Pdf

How do you fix your troubled adolescent? After years of working as an in-home therapist and probation officer, author William Glover grew frustrated with the conventional wisdom that said medication and/or therapy offered the only hope for angry, defiant, unmotivated, ADHD, ADD, oppositional, defiant, drug involved, juvenile court involved, and behaviorally handicapped kids. Based on his work with adolescents and their parents, he became convinced that the solution for the majority of troubled kids resided not with the professionals, but with the parents of these children. With this as a starting point, Glover began developing "The Adolescent Owner's Manual," a unique and effective resource designed to provide parents with the practical, common-sense tools and skills essential to parenting troubled adolescents.

Overwhelmed by thoughts of suicide and depression, he disappeared into a haze of alcoholism to deal with the daily challenges of his disease. But instead of alleviating his disease, the alcohol made it ten times worse. Spending most of his time in an alcoholic stupor, he was not in control of his thoughts or actions, thanks to his schizophrenia. Each time he tried to get control of his life, he failed miserably. Mom's Idea is the heartbreaking story of Smiths struggles to deal with his schizophrenia while ultimately realizing that he also had to find a way to stop drinking. Mommy Burnout by Dr. Sheryl G. Ziegler Pdf

The ultimate must-read handbook for the modern mother: a practical, and positive tool to help free women from the debilitating notion of being the "perfect mom," filled with funny and all too relatable true-life stories and realistic suggestions to stop the burnout cycle, and protect our kids from the damage burnout can cause. Moms, do you feel tired? Overwhelmed? Have you continually put off the things you need to do for you? Do you feel like it’s all worth it because your kids are happy? Are you "over" being a mother? If you answered yes to these questions, you’re not alone. Parents today want to create the ideal childhood for their children. Women strive to be the picture-perfect Pinterest mother that looks amazing, hosts the best birthday parties in town, posts the most "liked" photos, and serves delicious, nutritious home-cooked meals in her neat, organized home after ferrying the kids to school and a host of extracurricular activities on time. This drive, while noble, can also be destructive, causing stress and anxiety that leads to "mommy burnout." Psychologist and family counselor Dr. Sheryl Ziegler is well-versed in the stress that moms face, and the burden of guilt they carry because they often feel like they aren’t doing enough for their kids’ happiness. A mother of three herself, Dr. Z—as she’s affectionately known by her many patients—recognizes and understands that modern moms are all too often plagued by exhaustion, failure, isolation, self-doubt, and a general lack of self-love, and their families are also feeling the effects, too. Over the last nineteen years working with families and children, Dr. Z has devised a prescriptive program for addressing "mommy burnout"—teaching moms that they can learn to re-energize themselves and still feel good about their families and their lives. In this warm and empathetic guide, she examines this modern epidemic among mothers who put their children’s happiness above their own, and offers empowering, proven solutions for alleviating this condition, saving marriages and keeping kids happy in the process.
