Newer Paths in Muslim-Christian Understanding by Ron George Pdf

This book tries to outline (most inadequately) the conclusion that God is not limited by man's ways and wants all men to come to know the truth - Christ himself. A man can be a Messianic Jew, a Hindu Sadhu - as was Sadhu Sundar Singh - or a Messianic Muslim. So often our faith is culture bound; we have often interpreted the Bible from a cultural perspective and not seen the God who relates to all men. He does not want a Western form of Christianity to be imposed upon others. In Genesis 2 v 18-20 we have the cultural mandate that man was to rule over the earth and create his own society. Most Muslim converts go back into Islam, not because of a failure to be enamored by Christ but because of a loss of their identity and unacceptance by the Christian community. Few understand the forces that are at play within all of us. Ron George has been involved in missions in the Islamic world for over 44 years. He has written widely on the subject, traveled to over 30 lands and met with Muslim leaders to try to understand their points of view. His views come out of a serious study of the Islamic peoples and the Qur'an, a love for those peoples and an appreciation of their roots. He takes what well-known missiologists present and brings them to their logical conclusion in evaluating Muslim-Christian understandings. He feels that only the eyes of love can fully appreciate the task of communicating Christ to Islamic peoples, building upon what they have and not destroying what God has already started. He sees that in trying to understand others leads to better understanding our own faith. This is a book about new beginnings in understanding Muslims and adds to that process.

The Nearest in Affection by Stuart E. Brown Pdf

He Nearest in Affection to those who believe", according to the Quran, "are the ones who say, 'We are Christians.'" Yet in many parts of the world where Christians and Muslims live side by side, the reality of their relationship falls far short of that ideal. Suspicions and fears arise from ignorance of each other's history, beliefs, and practices, often leading to tensions and open conflict. This short introduction to Islam for Christians offers a wide-ranging overview of what Muslims believe and where their beliefs and practices reveal points of contact or divergence with Christianity. It thus provides both an agenda and a solid foundation for strengthened and respectful encounters between members of the world's two largest faith groups.

The Challenge of Islam to Christians by David Pawson Pdf

The Challenge of Islam to Christians is David Pawson's most important - and most controversial - prophetic message to date. Moral decline and erosion of a sense of ultimate truth has created a spiritual vacuum in the United Kingdom. David Pawson believes Islam is far better equipped than the Church to move into that gap and it will not be long before it becomes the country's dominant religion. Based on the audio and video recordings on which he first announced his message, this book unpacks and explains the background behind Pawson's claims, and - crucially - sets out a positive blueprint for the Church's response. Christians must rediscover and demonstrate to society the three qualities that make Christianity unique: Reality, Relationship and Righteousness.

Understanding Christian-Muslim Relations by Clinton Bennett Pdf

For centuries Christians and Muslims have engaged with each other in manifold ways, peaceful and otherwise, be it in scholarly study, or in war and colonization. Today, Christians represent an influential body of opinion that largely perceives Islam, post 9/11, as a threat. Yet Muslims represent approximately one third of the world's population. Improved understanding between Christians and Muslims is therefore crucial and a prerequisite for universal peace and justice. This book aims to investigate Islam's place in the world, Muslim aspirations vis-a-vis non-Muslims and the realities of how Muslims are perceived and how they perceive others. Each chapter analyses accessible texts from central thinkers and commentators, broadly split into two camps: confrontational or conciliatory. Christian-Muslim relations are set in the wider context of civilizational, geo-political and economic interaction between the Muslim world and the historically Christian West.
