Poems Of A Musical Flavour: Volume 6 by Tiara King Pdf

This book is the last in the series and covers years 1994 to 1996 and 2002. I was 20, 21 and 22 and my life was a little more...meh...and so much happened I guess I didn’t have enough time to write, but I certainly had the ideas. I was legally an adult, technically an adult, but mentally still a teenager. With everything going on in my life I wrote less and less. Clearly the endeavour was waning. Or I just needed a holiday. I did start line dancing and that grew into a full blown love for three years. It was music, after all...so clearly my love of music was now leaning toward the dancing side of things. In 2002 I wrote 1 song. That’s all I wrote. And I’m surprised I wrote that because I hadn’t written in six years. I was 28, still living at home as I had taken on the chore of being a care-giver for my mother and I had moved into other things. Line dancing had stopped but my love of music hadn’t and never will. That was the last song I wrote and all of them were my practice for storytelling in four verses, a chorus, and a bridge for much bigger and better things. And now I’ve honoured them with these publications. The book also contains some witty one liners and anecdotes about what was happening, who I wanted to be, or who I had a crush on. They are not perfect, nor meant to be, they’re just the musings of a young woman with crushes and dreams. Enjoy!

My Soul Doth Magnify the Lord by Mary Wisham Fenstermacher Pdf

Do you sometimes feel that you are at the top of the world? Are you amazed at the beauty surrounding you in God’s majestic creation—the sky, the mountains, the valleys, and the rivers? Does the rush and roar of the ocean waves tingle through your whole being as you watch and listen? Does the coming of the seasons—Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter--arouse your senses and awaken your joy of anticipation? These are some of the feelings and experiences expressed in the poetic verse found in this collection of inspirational poems and devotionals. Poems such as “Morning’s Dawn,” “Autumn Song,” and “Evening at Sunset” will take you to those quiet moments of peace and serenity that everyone needs along the way. “Seascape” and “Seashore Symphony” will remind you of the mighty powers our great Creator wields over the universe. Mountaintop experiences, however, are not the everyday diet of human experience. Sadness, pain, illness, frustration, and disappointment pepper mankind’s daily existence on a much greater scale. Such poems as “Be Strong,” “Hold Fast,” “A Pilgrim’s Prayer,” and “Heaven” speak to the heart and soul of human agony and distress. There is hope! It is found in the Savior of humankind … the Creator of the world … the friend that sticketh closer than a brother. That hope is found in Jesus Christ—Immanuel, God with us! Filled with pertinent Scriptures of timeless wisdom and comfort, this book of poems and devotionals is designed to lift your spirits during any day or season. Join the author as she magnifies the Lord with Scripture and poetic verse! “I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.” —Psalm 34:1–3

The Best American Poetry 2006 by Billy Collins Pdf

"So welcome, readers, to a plurality of poets, a cornucopia of tropes, and a range of interests." -- From Billy Collins's introduction The Best American Poetry series offers a distinguished poet's selection of poems published in the course of a year. The guest editor for 2006 is Billy Collins, one of our most beloved poets, who has chosen poems of wit, humor, imagination, and surprise, in an array of styles and forms. The result is a celebration of the pleasures of poetry -- from Laura Cronk's marvelous "Sestina for the Newly Married" to the elegant limericks of R. S. Gwynn and from Reb Livingston on butter to Mark Halliday's "Refusal to Notice Beautiful Women." In his charming and candid introduction Collins explains how he chose seventy-five poems from among the thousands he considered. With insightful comments from the poets illuminating their work, and series editor David Lehman's thought-provoking foreword, The Best American Poetry 2006 is a brilliant addition to a series that links the most noteworthy verse and prose poems of our time to a readership as discerning as it is devoted to the art of poetry.
