NATO: An Entity Set on Disaster by Hans Myrebro Pdf

Ever since its creation in 1949, when the United States was already a significant nuclear power, the organization has constantly worked to create conflicts that have been able to enrich its own arms industry. As Johan Galtung put it: "The conflict could have been resolved with a little patience and creativity, but NATO does not want solutions. It uses conflict as raw material it can process into interventions to tell the world that it is the strongest in military terms.” The period after 1992 is therefore cluttered with 251 examples of military interventions in various states, from NATO as a whole or from individual member states, with democracy as a pretext. This according to the USA's Congressional Research Service, March 2022. But NATO has never tried to resolve any conflicts – peaceful solutions do not bring any profits to a military power. The latest example of this is the war in Ukraine. From the beginning, there was no conflict between Russia and Ukraine. It must be created by the US with the help of the EU. It was created by these powers, politicized and militarized by various NATO states, and now we are seeing the results. It is important, not least for school youth, students that they get a different version than the mainstream gives of what is happening geopolitically. A version that is not agenda-based but where the ambition is an accurate description of a conflict-filled world. The book: "NATO - an Entity set on Disaster," contributes strongly to providing a fact-based, comprehensive and sustainable picture of what is happening.

NATO - an Entity set on Disaster by Jan Erik Westh Pdf

"NATO, an Entity Set on Disaster" is an easy-read and well-documented description of NATO´s destructive and morbid activity over more than 70 years. In March 2022 a USA Congressional Research Committee came out with a report that the USA which is the leading NATO country had from 1992 until now started and implemented 251 war and military interventions - almost 95% of all cases and death activity in the world during this time. This NATO-pattern Hans Myrebro wants to stop. NATO started as a defense organization — and developed into a tool for US imperialism — facilitated with the assistance of the Global Mass Media command structure. NATO no longer acts in the interest of human rights, nor for the general well-being of the world’s population. Instead, it persistently quests to assist the United States in realizing its aim — to establish complete and total World Domination.

Beyond NATO by Michael E. O'Hanlon Pdf

In this new Brookings Marshall Paper, Michael O'Hanlon argues that now is the time for Western nations to negotiate a new security architecture for neutral countries in eastern Europe to stabilize the region and reduce the risks of war with Russia. He believes NATO expansion has gone far enough. The core concept of this new security architecture would be one of permanent neutrality. The countries in question collectively make a broken-up arc, from Europe's far north to its south: Finland and Sweden; Ukraine, Moldova, and Belarus; Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan; and finally Cyprus plus Serbia, as well as possibly several other Balkan states. Discussion on the new framework should begin within NATO, followed by deliberation with the neutral countries themselves, and then formal negotiations with Russia. The new security architecture would require that Russia, like NATO, commit to help uphold the security of Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, and other states in the region. Russia would have to withdraw its troops from those countries in a verifiable manner; after that, corresponding sanctions on Russia would be lifted. The neutral countries would retain their rights to participate in multilateral security operations on a scale comparable to what has been the case in the past, including even those operations that might be led by NATO. They could think of and describe themselves as Western states (or anything else, for that matter). If the European Union and they so wished in the future, they could join the EU. They would have complete sovereignty and self-determination in every sense of the word. But NATO would decide not to invite them into the alliance as members. Ideally, these nations would endorse and promote this concept themselves as a more practical way to ensure their security than the current situation or any other plausible alternative.

Why buy a book you can download for free? We print the paperback book so you don't have to. First you gotta find a good clean (legible) copy and make sure it's the latest version (not always easy). Some documents found on the web are missing some pages or the image quality is so poor, they are difficult to read. If you find a good copy, you could print it using a network printer you share with 100 other people (typically its either out of paper or toner). If it's just a 10-page document, no problem, but if it's 250-pages, you will need to punch 3 holes in all those pages and put it in a 3-ring binder. Takes at least an hour. It's much more cost-effective to just order the bound paperback from Amazon.com This book includes original commentary which is copyright material. Note that government documents are in the public domain. We print these paperbacks as a service so you don't have to. The books are compact, tightly-bound paperback, full-size (8 1/2 by 11 inches), with large text and glossy covers. 4th Watch Publishing Co. is a HUBZONE SDVOSB. https: //usgovpub.com

NATO 2.0 by Sarwar A. Kashmeri Pdf

On September 5, 2009, the commanding officer of NATO's German troops in Afghanistan ordered a U.S. Air Force fighter to destroy two fuel trucks hijacked by theTaliban. Within hours, he was being investigated by German prosecutors for the murder of innocent civilians—collateral damage. Under German law its forces can only be deployed for peacekeeping; America might be at war in Afghanistan, but Germany is not. Germany is not the only country that sets strict conditions on its NATO troops. Half of the allied forces in Afghanistan operate under restricted battlefield conditions. Gen. Dwight Eisenhower stormed the beaches of Normandy with an Allied army that followed his every command; in Afghanistan military commanders must consult a checklist to figure out which allied soldiers can be sent into battle. NATO today is a shadow of what it used to be—the world's most formidable military alliance. Its original reason for existence, the Soviet Union, disintegrated years ago, and its dreams of being a world cop are withering in the mountains of Afghanistan. But eliminating NATO is not the answer, argues Sarwar Kashmeri. It is, for Americans and Europeans, still the safety net of last resort. Kashmeri believes NATO's future usefulness depends on its ability to partner with CSDP, Europe's increasingly successful security and defense establishment. It is time for NATO 2.0, a new version of NATO, to fit the realities of the twenty-first century.

NATO, Climate Change, and International Security by Tyler H. Lippert Pdf

This book offers a prospective analysis of the anticipated security consequences of climate change in relation to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Using climate and security literature to complement recent foresight and scenario analysis developed by NATO, the author applies the International Risk Governance Council’s (IRGC) Risk Governance Framework to identify the considerations and actions that could assist NATO in a context where climate and environmental factors more intensively shape security. Tyler Lippert explores how climate change has the potential to increase the need for humanitarian assistance and disaster response, to create tension over shared resources, to renew and enhance geo-political interest in the Arctic, and to deepen concern with respect to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Within this new political and environmental reality, NATO must consider how to adapt to meet new demands, prepare for new security challenges, as well as manage unforeseen consequences. Offering a corrective, this book identifies near-term actions for NATO to improve its risk governance posture, providing a basis upon which longer-range policy considerations can be developed. This analysis is only the opening salvo of what is likely to be a complicated process that spans many years, if not decades. However, in mapping the risk governance dimensions to the security and climate nexus from the perspective of NATO, Lippert provides a foundation for risk-based policy planning for NATO. The book will be of immense value to policy and decision makers: NATO leadership and its affiliated organizations as well as to academics across a broad span of subject areas, particularly environmental sociology, defense and foreign policy, and the political sciences.

Forward Resilience by Daniel S. Hamilton Pdf

The notion of 'resilience' is gaining currency in European and transatlantic security policy discussions. The EU and NATO are each building the capacity of their member states to anticipate, preempt and resolve disruptive challenges to vital societal functions. The EU and NATO are also exploring ways to work more effectively together in this area. But is resilience enough to deal with disruptive threats in a deeply interconnected world? In this new study, authors and experts argue that while state-by-state approaches to resilience are important, they are likely to be insufficient in a world where few critical infrastructures are limited to national borders, and where robust resilience efforts by one country may mean little if its neighbor's systems are weak. They argue not only that resilience must be shared, it must be projected forward, and that traditional notions of territorial security must be supplemented with actions to address flow security - protecting critical links that bind societies to one another.

NATO's Air War for Kosovo by Benjamin S. Lambeth Pdf

This book offers a thorough appraisal of Operation Allied Force, NATO's 78-day air war to compel the president of Yugoslavia, Slobodan Milosevic, to end his campaign of ethnic cleansing in Kosovo. The author sheds light both on the operation's strengths and on its most salient weaknesses. He outlines the key highlights of the air war and examines the various factors that interacted to induce Milosevic to capitulate when he did. He then explores air power's most critical accomplishments in Operation Allied Force as well as the problems that hindered the operation both in its planning and in its execution. Finally, he assesses Operation Allied Force from a political and strategic perspective, calling attention to those issues that are likely to have the greatest bearing on future military policymaking. The book concludes that the air war, although by no means the only factor responsible for the allies' victory, certainly set the stage for Milosevic's surrender by making it clear that he had little to gain by holding out. It concludes that in the end, Operation Allied Force's most noteworthy distinction may lie in the fact that the allies prevailed despite the myriad impediments they faced.
