Their nocturnal flights and cryptic behaviors have fueled the human imagination, giving rise to legends that transcend cultures and civilizations. In this collection, we embark on a journey through the haunted dimensions where bats become conduits for curses, ancient pacts, and spectral entities that manifest in chilling tales of horror. There's a peculiar allure to darkness—a fascination that borders on the unknown and the forbidden. Bats, with their silent flights and haunting cries, have become symbolic emissaries of the night. As we delve into these horror stories, we invite you to suspend disbelief and embrace the sinister beauty that dwells within the shadows. The genesis of this anthology lies in the exploration of the primal fears that echo through generations. Nocturnal Admissions by Steve Adelman Pdf

Steve Adelman’s humorous and engaging memoir reflects on his years as the director of some of the world’s most popular nightclubs, including the Roxy, Limelight, Tunnel, and Palladium in the heyday of clubs in New York City during the 1980s and 1990s, followed by Avalon (Boston, Hollywood, and Singapore locations), and the New Daisy Theatre in Memphis. Nocturnal Admissions is a timely, nonconventional look at one of pop culture’s most outwardly glamorous, yet misunderstood industries, bringing the reader backstage into the world of nightlife at its highest level. Wearing the multiple hats of ringmaster, entrepreneur, guidance counselor, multimillion-dollar dealmaker, and music soothsayer, Adelman chronicles an improbable journey from small town to big city, filled with a cast of characters he could never have imagined: People named Hedda Lettuce, Jenetalia, Maxi Min, Jiggy, who collide with and around the likes of Jack Nicholson, Bruce Willis, Sir Richard Branson, Leonardo DiCaprio, RuPaul, Rudy Giuliani, and Snoop Dogg, among many, many others. Navigating city crackdowns, crazed partners, and cultural differences, Adelman relates how he watched his Nana out-dance an ex-NFL lineman, was chastised by Bob Dylan, launched the EDM musical movement, helped created the “mash up” with Perry Farrell, butted heads with Jerry Falwell, rang in the New Year with Matt Damon’s mother, leveraged porn star Jenna Jameson, relied on advice from felons, almost pancaked Prince, and built the world’s most lavish nightclub. Nocturnal Admissions is a hilarious, adrenaline-filled ride through the peak decades of the world's most famous nightclubs and nightlife scenes.

The Cry of a Child in the Nocturnal Darkness by Agrey Emile A. Coudakpo Pdf

The story of a child who cries for help in the dark in hopes of finding a way to the light, without knowing that he is part of that darkness and light himself. The child was born between two tribes: darkness tribe and lightning tribe. His mother, Adjo, wandered off from the darkness tribe to meet her lover, who was the childs father, Kafui, from the lightning tribe. They both knew their union could be fatal because of the differences of their tribes, but their love blinded them to know how different they were. Their inevitable love was rejected by both the darkness tribe and lightning tribe. Worried about the outcome of their forbidden love, they suddenly got scared and fled from the mistake they had made; the two lovers realized how their difference could not be reconciled. They both rejoined their tribes for fear of meeting again, but it was too late because the seed of their love already began to sprout into an unborn child. From their inevitable love came a newborn child who was a combination of the two tribes of darkness and lightning and whom the two tribes decided to eliminate. There was an elderly woman in the darkness tribe named Pauline, who seemed to be the childs grandmother and who had supernatural powers that could balance both darkness and lightning. The elderly woman then secretly took the child for fear that both lightning and darkness tribes could destroy the child and that the mother could not balance the two combinations of darkness and lightning within the child and protect him at the same time. The elderly woman Pauline escaped to many different tribes to raise the child; she named the child Komla, meaning the birth of two strong powers. Growing up, Komla realized he was part of the darkness and the lightning tribes, who rejected him, and that he lost the only sparkle of light that cared and protected him. He felt lonely, and out of blame, he projected himself into a nocturnal darkness.

Nocturnal Poetics by Ferial J. Ghazoul Pdf

The Book of a Thousand and One Nights, better known as The Arabian Nights, is a classic of world literature and the most universally known work of Arabic narrative. Although much has been written about it, Professor Ghazoul's analysis is the first to apply modern critical methodology to the study of this intricate and much-admired literary masterpiece. The author draws on a wealth of critical tools -- medieval Arabic aesthetics and poetics, mythology and folklore, allegory and comedy, postmodern literary criticism, and formal and structural analysis -- to explain the specific genius of the The Arabian Nights. The author describes and examines the internal cohesion of the book, establishing its morphology and revealing the dialectics of the frame-story and enframed cycles of narrative. She discusses various forms of narrative -- folk epics, animal fables, Sindbad voyages, and demon stories -- and analyzes them in relation to narrative works from India, Europe, and the Americas. Covering an impressive range of writings, from ancient Indian classics to the works of Shakespeare and the modern writers Jorge Luis Borges and John Barth, she places The Arabian Nights in the context of an ongoing storytelling tradition and reveals its influence on world literature.
