Hitler's Secret Jewish Psychic by Phil Mason Pdf

A treasure trove filled with fascinating anecdotes about the tiny ripples that have caused big waves in history, Hitler’s Secret Jewish Psychic will cure you of two misconceptions: the first being that history is relentlessly boring and the second that significant historical events are caused by significant and great causes. Here you’ll unearth a multitude of facts you never knew were true. You’ll learn some unbelievable things about some of the most prominent figures in history (Picasso was stillborn until his uncle revived him by blowing cigar smoke in his face!). You’ll discover facts about some of the most famous wars in history (Japan actually manufactured balloons carrying deadly diseases, which they attempted to send over the Pacific Ocean to the United States). Other strange facts include: The career Fidel Castro almost chose over his leadership of Cuba Where Eli Whitney got the idea for his invention of the cotton gin What almost happened during the Wrights brothers’ first successful flight Why certain literary works almost never saw the light of publication What day should have really been designated Independence Day The truth behind Winston Churchill’s daring escape from a Boer War prisoner-of-war camp Franklin Roosevelt’s campaign cover-up The behind-the-scene beliefs of Isaac Newton And many more! It is true that many things you hear should be taken with a pinch of salt; nothing proves this so much as Hitler’s Secret Jewish Psychic, where you will discover the outrageous secrets history has tried (and failed) to keep. The Turning Point That Changed Everything by Wallace R. Pratt Pdf

In every person's life, there comes a moment in time when circumstances or events require decisions and responses that greatly determine the future. This book has no design to be another volume on leadership techniques. Rather, it is a candid exploration of those unexpected turns birthed out of the experience of being confronted with a reversal of circumstances in the life of an individual. Frankly, it is a study about the drama of life. The intention of the author is to give a sincere and straightforward examination of why turnabouts often get high-jacked and fail to live up to people's expectations. Even more, individuals will find a plea for courage and faith when things do not occur as they once envisioned they would. Consequently, it is a clarion call for courage to go further than some would desire, but also a caution to impatient leaders to be watchful of their own intentions to push a change further than would be wise. In the end, some leaders must be willing to consider a more contemplative life built on valuing people above their own ideological mindset. Dr. Wallace R. Pratt is an administrator, minister, teacher, and writer. He lives in Salem, Oregon and has been married thirty-eight years to his wonderful wife Judy. They are blessed with two daughters, two great son-in-laws and five grandchildren. Dr. Pratt serves as a regional supervisor in the Northwest for his church organization, while also serving as an adjunct professor for Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. His leadership experience has included thirty-three years of pastoral ministry and approximately eighteen years of teaching in sixteen nations. He has been serving on the Doctrine and Polity Committee of his church organization for fourteen years and presently holds the position of chairman for this international body.

The Signifying Power of Pearl by Jane Beal Pdf

This book enhances our understanding of the exquisitely beautiful, fourteenth-century, Middle English dream vision poem Pearl. Situating the study in the contexts of medieval literary criticism and contemporary genre theory, Beal argues that the poet intended Pearl to be read at four levels of meaning and in four corresponding genres: literally, an elegy; spiritually, an allegory; morally, a consolation; and anagogically, a revelation. The book addresses cruxes and scholarly debates about the poem’s genre and meaning, including key questions that have been unresolved in Pearl studies for over a century: * What is the nature of the relationship between the Dreamer and the Maiden? * What is the significance of allusions to Ovidian love stories and the use of liturgical time in the poem? * How does avian symbolism, like that of the central symbol of the pearl, develop, transform, and add meaning throughout the dream vision? * What is the nature of God portrayed in the poem, and how does the portrayal of the Maiden’s intimate relationship to God, her spiritual marriage to the Lamb, connect to the poet’s purpose in writing? Noting that the poem is open to many interpretations, Beal also considers folktale genre patterns in Pearl, including those drawn from parable, fable, and fairy-tale. The conclusion considers Pearl in the light of modern psychological theories of grieving and trauma. This book makes a compelling case for re-reading Pearl and recognizing the poem’s signifying power. Given the ongoing possibility of new interpretations, it will appeal to those who specialize in Pearl as well as scholars of Middle English, Medieval Literature, Genre Theory, and Literature and Religion.
