The Ninth Siddhi by Larry Vingelman Pdf

Although the book was originally published in 2012, the book has been completely rewritten and republished in 2018. Also, the book has been updated for recent scientific discoveries. Can World Peace be obtained through a technology that supports an invincible force based on a transcendental source of energy? Is humanity's world view approaching a paradigm shift of unprecedented proportions? Are our concepts about reality and human nature about to bridge the gap between ancient wisdom and modern science? The Ninth Siddhi: Preparing for a technological Solution for World Peace illustrates and answers these questions. Today, violence is palpable around the world. Unstable nuclear enabled regimes taunt and threaten large nation states with annihilation. Religious madmen kill and murder indiscriminately in the streets of Europe and North America. In the United States, school children armed with military weaponry kill and maim other school children for no apparent reason. The Ninth Siddhi advocates for a new path to a nonviolent world. A path without automatic weapons, chemical bombs, or nuclear missiles. It is clear that gun laws, sanctions, diplomacy, or the strongest political action will not bring peace to the world. Reason will not prevail. A new path is necessary that leads all loving families to a nonviolent world and a more peaceful ideology. The technological solution for world peace is dependent on activating and inspiring world populations to walk this path together. The new technology actualizes ancient wisdom from antiquity which states that when war, suffering, and terror grow, an invincible force of nature moves to set man's vision right and establish a way of life, living, and loving, that again will fulfill the high purpose of human existence.

Space, Time and Number in the Brain by Stanislas Dehaene,Elizabeth Brannon Pdf

The study of mathematical cognition and the ways in which the ideas of space, time and number are encoded in brain circuitry has become a fundamental issue for neuroscience. How such encoding differs across cultures and educational level is of further interest in education and neuropsychology. This rapidly expanding field of research is overdue for an interdisciplinary volume such as this, which deals with the neurological and psychological foundations of human numeric capacity. A uniquely integrative work, this volume provides a much needed compilation of primary source material to researchers from basic neuroscience, psychology, developmental science, neuroimaging, neuropsychology and theoretical biology. The first comprehensive and authoritative volume dealing with neurological and psychological foundations of mathematical cognition Uniquely integrative volume at the frontier of a rapidly expanding interdisciplinary field Features outstanding and truly international scholarship, with chapters written by leading experts in a variety of fields

Domination Games Played on Graphs by Boštjan Brešar,Michael A. Henning,Sandi Klavžar,Douglas F. Rall Pdf

This concise monograph present the complete history of the domination game and its variants up to the most recent developments and will stimulate research on closely related topics, establishing a key reference for future developments. The crux of the discussion surrounds new methods and ideas that were developed within the theory, led by the imagination strategy, the Continuation Principle, and the discharging method of Bujtás, to prove results about domination game invariants. A toolbox of proof techniques is provided for the reader to obtain results on the domination game and its variants. Powerful proof methods such as the imagination strategy are presented. The Continuation Principle is developed, which provides a much-used monotonicity property of the game domination number. In addition, the reader is exposed to the discharging method of Bujtás. The power of this method was shown by improving the known upper bound, in terms of a graph's order, on the (ordinary) domination number of graphs with minimum degree between 5 and 50. The book is intended primarily for students in graph theory as well as established graph theorists and it can be enjoyed by anyone with a modicum of mathematical maturity. The authors include exact results for several families of graphs, present what is known about the domination game played on subgraphs and trees, and provide the reader with the computational complexity aspects of domination games. Versions of the games which involve only the “slow” player yield the Grundy domination numbers, which connect the topic of the book with some concepts from linear algebra such as zero-forcing sets and minimum rank. More than a dozen other related games on graphs and hypergraphs are presented in the book. In all these games there are problems waiting to be solved, so the area is rich for further research. The domination game belongs to the growing family of competitive optimization graph games. The game is played by two competitors who take turns adding a vertex to a set of chosen vertices. They collaboratively produce a special structure in the underlying host graph, namely a dominating set. The two players have complementary goals: one seeks to minimize the size of the chosen set while the other player tries to make it as large as possible. The game is not one that is either won or lost. Instead, if both players employ an optimal strategy that is consistent with their goals, the cardinality of the chosen set is a graphical invariant, called the game domination number of the graph. To demonstrate that this is indeed a graphical invariant, the game tree of a domination game played on a graph is presented for the first time in the literature.

Strategies for Teaching Whole Number Computation by David B. Spangler Pdf

"This book is a must-have for anyone working to remediate students struggling with math. It gets into the types of misconceptions students have and gives multiple ways to correct them." —Donna Adkins, First-Grade Teacher Perritt Primary School, Arkadelphia, AR "The nuts-and-bolts approach to assessment and error analysis make this book a real tool for everyday use." —Judith A. Filkins, K–8 Math Curriculum Coordinator Lebanon School District, NH A proven approach to mathematics teaching that adds up to student success! When students make computational errors in mathematics, often the prescribed solution is more drilling. However, by combining error analysis with timely and specific intervention based on conceptual understanding, teachers can get to the cause of students′ errors, uncover underlying misconceptions, and help students understand and correct their mistakes. The targeted interventions for each error pattern promote teaching for conceptual understanding and are supported by documented academic research. David B. Spangler, a school math consultant with more than 35 years of experience, provides a model that focuses on student error patterns in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. This book offers targeted instructional strategies based on the five NCTM process standards and includes four units, each containing: A diagnostic test in a multiple-choice format An item analysis table that correlates incorrect test responses with student error patterns A detailed section of supporting intervention activities to address specific types of errors Practice exercises for students, with answer keys Reflection questions for teachers to use in a professional development setting, workshop, or methods course With supporting research, a section on "big ideas" in computation and problem solving, and student reproducibles for games and activities, Strategies for Teaching Whole Number Computation promotes a proactive and scaffolded approach to teaching mathematics in a meaningful way.
