Old-Earth Creationism on Trail by Tim Chaffey,Dr. Jason Lisle Pdf

"Twenty-somethings once faithfully attended church. What made them stop? While most said they still believe that the Bible is God's Word, they also said that the idea that the earth is millions of years old was one thing that caused them to doubt the bible? The crumbling foundation of the church takes a devastating toll on future generations. Therefore, churches must reclaim the historical truth found in Genesis and apply the Bible's authority to every area of life." -Ken Ham, President Answers in Genesis As the modern Church struggles to find a place of relevancy for a new generation that already has massive demands on its time and attention, more and more young people raised in the Church are leaving it - failing to find the answers to their questions of faith and life, beset with doubts raised by issues that the Church chooses not to address. Opting to skirt the controversy of Genesis as literal history, the biblical authority of the Holy Word is called into question and reduced to a collection of mere stories. More popularly considered an issue for schools or in the public realm, the conflicting views on the age of the earth also remain a pivotal issue within the Church - as it has for over two centuries. Was the Creation week literally six days? Does science really point to an old earth? Does the issue really matter for Christians? Should this issue even be discussed within the Church? Join authors Dr. Jason Lisle and Tim Chaffey as they put forth a case against an old-earth interpretation of Scripture. A comprehensive biblical, theological, and scientific critique of old-earth creationism, the book presents its compelling testimony in layman's terms to create a powerful debate that leads to unquestionable truth.

A New Look at an Old Earth by Don Stoner Pdf

If the God who created the universe also inspired the words of the Bible, there can be no contradictions between the two. Yet the popular Christian teaching that the earth is approximately 10,000 years old disagrees with modern scientific evidence. This insightful look at our incredible universe examines the facts of nature and how they compliment biblically sound interpretations of the creation account.

Old-Earth or Evolutionary Creation? by Kenneth Keathley,J. B. Stump,Joe Aguirre Pdf

Jesus Creed Book of the Year 2017, Science and Faith Christians confess that God created the heavens and the earth. But they are divided over how God created and whether the Bible gives us a scientifically accurate account of the process of creation. Representatives of two prominent positions—old-earth creation (Reasons to Believe) and evolutionary creation (BioLogos)—have been in dialogue over the past decade to understand where they agree and disagree on key issues in science and theology. This book is the result of those meetings. Moderated by Southern Baptist seminary professors, the discussion between Reasons to Believe and BioLogos touches on many of the pressing debates in science and faith, including biblical authority, the historicity of Adam and Eve, human genetics and common descent, the problem of natural evil, and methodological naturalism. While both organizations agree that God created the universe billions of years ago, their differences reveal that far more is at stake here than just the age of the earth. Old-Earth or Evolutionary Creation? invites readers to listen in as Christian scholars weigh the evidence, explore the options, and challenge each other on the questions of creation and evolution. In a culture of increasing polarization, this is a model for charitable Christian dialogue. BioLogos Books on Science and Christianity invite us to see the harmony between the sciences and biblical faith on issues including cosmology, biology, paleontology, evolution, human origins, the environment, and more.

Biblical Old Earth Creationism Under Attack by James Lowrance Pdf

As the title of this book denotes, Old Earth Creationism, which is the view held by creationists who believe that the earth may be extremely old, is being attacked not only by atheists and evolutionists, but also by those of the Young Earth Creationism view. Within the chapters of this book, I discuss reasons for seeing biblical substantiation and confirmation for an ancient earth, that has possibly existed for many eons of ages and that predates the creation of Adam and his domain (the current dispensation), by possibly millions or even billions of years. The creationist view that provides the most substantiation for this fact, is the one called "The Genesis Gap" (also referred to as "The Ruin-Reconstruction Theory" and "The Gap Theory"). We of the Genesis Gap view of Old Earth Creationism, believe that a past dispensation (or dispensations - plural) on the earth, likely included periods such as the dinosaur age. We do not claim to have absolutes or details regarding this age on earth, before Adam but we are firmly convinced that such a period is clearly revealed in God's Word. With this being the case, we are inspired to defend the Genesis Gap position. It is my sincere hope to contribute toward achieving that goal, within the chapters of this book. CONTENTS (Approx. 7,029 words in length): CHAPTER ONE Comparing New Earth Creationism to the Genesis Gap CHAPTER TWO Richard Dawkins Says Creationists are Hallucinating CHAPTER THREE Satan's Original Fall "To the Earth" was unmistakably PreAdamic CHAPTER FOUR The Unanswered Questions of Genesis Gap "Debunkers" CHAPTER FIVE More on the Fallen Angels of the Genesis Gap CHAPTER SIX My Letter of Gratitude and Concern to a Fellow Old Earth - Genesis Gap Creationist

Beyond the Firmament by Gordon J. Glover Pdf

As debates within the Church over the scientific details of creation become more frequent, the experts seem to grow more entrenched while the rest of us only become more confused. Somewhere between the endless arguments over distant starlight and Carbon-14 dating, calculating the mathematical improbabilities of things that already exist, and parsing ancient Hebrew and Greek, somebody needs to ask the simple question, If 3,500 years of scientific progress can't help modern Christians figure out Genesis, then how could the ancient Israelities possibly have understood it so well? What secret did this newly liberated gaggle of Hebrew nomads take with them out of Egypt that holds the key to understanding God's telling of His own creation story? Beyond the Firmament challenges all creationist camps --whether Young-Earth, Old-Earth, or Theistic Evolutionist -- to step outside of traditional paradigms and recognize how our modern, Western, post-Enlightenment scientific worldview actually blinds us from seeing the simple truth of Creation as it was originally intended, and how our failure to grasp the theological significance of the Biblical creation model puts science and faith on a collision course.

A Case for Young-Earth Creationism by Paul Nelson,John Mark Reynolds Pdf

Derived from Three Views on Creation and Evolution, this digital short provides a vivid defense for the view that God created the world relatively recently and in six days. Critical of current scientific consensuses, though not abrasively so, the authors present biblical, philosophical, and scientific supports for their perspective. Their clear argumentation makes this one of the best presentations of a historic if recently maligned viewpoint, one that will be useful to proponents and opponents alike.

Undeniable by Bill Nye Pdf

"Evolution is one of the most powerful and important ideas ever developed in the history of science. Every question it raises leads to new answers, new discoveries, and new smarter questions. The science of evolution is as expansive as nature itself. It is also the most meaningful creation story that humans have ever found."—Bill Nye Sparked by a controversial debate in February 2014, Bill Nye has set off on an energetic campaign to spread awareness of evolution and the powerful way it shapes our lives. In Undeniable: Evolution and the Science of Creation, he explains why race does not really exist; evaluates the true promise and peril of genetically modified food; reveals how new species are born, in a dog kennel and in a London subway; takes a stroll through 4.5 billion years of time; and explores the new search for alien life, including aliens right here on Earth. With infectious enthusiasm, Bill Nye shows that evolution is much more than a rebuttal to creationism; it is an essential way to understand how nature works—and to change the world. It might also help you get a date on a Saturday night.
