Open Shame, Open Glory by Sonia D. Norris Pdf

Open Shame, Open Glory speaks about Sonia Norris’ life as a child of God who fell as a result of her own actions. Through the direction of the Holy Spirit, she has given insight into her past experiences and has proven that God who created heaven and earth is real and is a God full of abundant mercies and overflowing grace. This book is for the non-believer as well as the believer. For the non-believer, it gives hope in this world of sin. For the believer who wants to go higher, it shows how through pressing in you can go behind the veil and dwell in the presence of God. However, desperation and obedience are the keys. For the non-believer or for those of you who may have fallen from grace, like Sonia did, this book shows clearly that nothing done in life is so awful that God will not accept you, mold and change you into what He has purposed for you to be.

Unashamed by Heather Davis Nelson Pdf

Shame is everywhere. Whether it's related to relationships, body image, work difficulties, or a secret sin, we all experience shame at some point in our lives. While shame can manifest itself in different ways—fear, regret, and anger—it ultimately points us to our most fundamental need as human beings: redemption. Shame never disappears in solitude, and Heather Davis Nelson invites us to not only be healed of our own shame but also be a part of healing for others. She shines the life-giving light of the gospel on the things that leave us feeling worthless and rejected, giving us courage us to walk out of shame's shadows and offering hope for our bondage to brokenness. Through the gospel, we discover the only real and lasting antidote to shame: exchanging our shame for the righteousness of Christ alongside others on this same journey.

From Shame to Glory by Kathryn W. Chamberlin Pdf

Each of us has had times when we felt mortified, experiencing shame about who we are. For some, a sense of shame is chronic. Others know this experience as an occasional acute attack of shame leaving them devastated. Few Christian writers have delved into this area of unspeakable need. For Kathryn Chamberlin, it has been a life calling to bring healing to shame sufferers, through counseling, teaching, seminars-and now, this book. It is a deeply generous outpouring of Katie's heart and insights into shame, and into the steps toward healing-toward gaining the supreme sense of God-given worth. I highly recommend this marvelous gift from Katie. It is your pathway to freedom. M. For the Glory by Duncan Hamilton Pdf

The untold and inspiring story of Eric Liddell, hero of Chariots of Fire, from his Olympic medal to his missionary work in China to his last, brave years in a Japanese work camp during WWII Many people will remember Eric Liddell as the Olympic gold medalist from the Academy Award winning film Chariots of Fire. Famously, Liddell would not run on Sunday because of his strict observance of the Christian sabbath, and so he did not compete in his signature event, the 100 meters, at the 1924 Paris Olympics. He was the greatest sprinter in the world at the time, and his choice not to run was ridiculed by the British Olympic committee, his fellow athletes, and most of the world press. Yet Liddell triumphed in a new event, winning the 400 meters in Paris. Liddell ran--and lived--for the glory of his God. After winning gold, he dedicated himself to missionary work. He travelled to China to work in a local school and as a missionary. He married and had children there. By the time he could see war on the horizon, Liddell put Florence, his pregnant wife, and children on a boat to Canada, while he stayed behind, his conscience compelling him to stay among the Chinese. He and thousands of other westerners were eventually interned at a Japanese work camp. Once imprisoned, Liddell did what he was born to do, practice his faith and his sport. He became the moral center of an unbearable world. He was the hardest worker in the camp, he counseled many of the other prisoners, he gave up his own meager portion of meals many days, and he organized games for the children there. He even raced again. For his ailing, malnourished body, it was all too much. Liddell died of a brain tumor just before the end of the war. His passing was mourned around the world, and his story still inspires. In the spirit of The Boys in the Boat and Unbroken, For the Glory is both a compelling narrative of athletic heroism and a gripping story of faith in the darkest circumstances.
