Our Father's House by Leonie Smith Pdf

Most people visit a church for the first time either by invitation or reputation. Many books have been written on the subject of personal evangelism and the importance of being a bringer. This book however, explores the power of reputation—specifically, God’s reputation as upheld and reflected in a church’s culture. Based on the story of the Queen of Sheba’s visit to King Solomon and how her initial encounter with his kingdom left her breathless and astounded, this book explores the profound effect a church’s culture can have on the heart of a seeker as they pursue rumours of King Jesus and His Kingdom. It warns that Kingdom-culture doesn’t happen by chance, but only as every member of the King’s household lays down their own comfortable and familiar culture to surrender instead to the common culture of Heaven. This book has been written to inspire every Christian to vigilantly uphold Heaven’s culture when living, loving and serving in the Fathers House— their local church. It implores us all not to waste another minute in engaging our God-given gifts and talents to create Heaven on Earth so that the Kingdom of God might be revealed in all of its glory to a world that is in desperate need of its wisdom, power and atmosphere. Only then, having tasted Heaven, will lost people truly desire to seek out this Kingdom’s magnificent King!

Filling Our Father’s House by Shaun McAfee Pdf

Converts often bring to the Catholic Church an evangelical zeal that can renew and energize even the most tired and battle weary among us. The Church is hurting for enthusiastic voices to proclaim her teachings on truth and morals. In these pages, Shaun McAfee, a convert from Evangelical Protestantism shows how we can take the best tools of evangelization and use them to reach countless souls with the fullness of the Christian Faith. With Shaun's help, you'll learn simple ways you can make the visitor in your parish more at home, how to speak compellingly about the Faith, simple ways to integrate daily Scripture reading into your life, why small groups are important for spiritual enrichment, and how to communicate with souls who have never considered joining the Catholic Church. The simple steps Shaun outlines in these pages will also show priests and lay leaders how to more effectively engage modern society with our Catholic Faith. Our society is awash in secularism. It's eating away at the sense of God, and the emptying of the pews in our own parishes is its natural effects. What we need is a renewal of enthusiasm for the battle against secularism and this book is a beginner's guide to getting us back on track.

Making a Difference in Our Father’s House by Bernice Eaton,Rev. Dr. Gregory E. Moore Pdf

In the early 1900s, thirty-five individuals left their current church to venture on a journey of starting a new church. This journey would change not only the community, but the lives of many. In Making a Difference in Our Father’s House, authors Bernice H. Eaton and Reverend Dr. Gregory E. Moore chronicle the history of the creation of Trinity Baptist Church in Fort Valley, Georgia. Eaton and Moore pieced the history together from written and oral resources including financial records, the first warranty deed, programs, conference minutes, minute books, newspaper articles, correspondence, written and oral histories, books, manuscripts, and census records. It presents a look at everything from the church founders to its pastors and leadership, and its programs and outreach. Making a Difference in Our Father’s House shows that throughout its history, the members demonstrated their faith, their hope, and their courage as they went about doing God’s will. They worked to make a better community for the people of Fort Valley and Peach County becoming known as the People’s Church.

Our Father's House by Annette B. Peck Pdf

The scene is set in the city of Amsterdam, the Netherlands in the 1970s. We meet a very shy youth worker called Tom. He is gifted in his dealings with pre-adolescent children. Tom is also a very religious man and an artist. Iris is a mother seeking a solution for her eleven-year-old son who seems to be lost since his father died. In her quest for a solution she goes back to the place where she volunteered as a teenager. Tom has continued to work there and it becomes soon clear that he still has very deep feelings for her. We see how a triangle develops between Tom, Iris and her son Pierre. There is a soft and dreamy quality about this love story in which religious symbols are sensitively interwoven. Soon though some difficult realities come to haunt this newly blended family. The handling of both legal and medical ethics plays a very important role. The strong faith in this family helps the three of them to move on. Love and good parenting form the upper currents in the story. Underneath it we realize that it is all about fatherhood. This book will particularly appeal to women in their childbearing years.
