Physical and Chemical Processes in Gas Dynamics by G. G. Chernyi,Moscow State University S Macheret G Chernyi and S Losev Pdf
A decade ago, Russian scientist Staly A. Losev assembled top scientists from various Russian institutions at Moscow State University and invited them to pool their knowledge about the changes gases undergo in a variety of aerospace settings from combustion of rocket fuels to hypersonic flow paths to the exteriors of atmospheric reentry vehicles. The work grew into the AVAGADRO Laboratory of Moscow State Universitys Institute of Mechanics. The models and formulas produced by the team of authors are contained in the second edition of the text book, "Physical and Chemical Processes in Gas Dynamics." The text provides a valuable window into the design philosophies and models that govern former-Soviet engineers and scientists. "Normally, these things are not accessible to U.S. engineers, "said Paul Zarchan of MITs Lincoln Laboratory, Editor-in-Chief of AIAAs Progress in Astronautics and Aeronautics Series that includes this text. Accompanying the book is the Russian-produced Chemical Workbench software, which is a user-friendly, Windows-based interface for performing calculations based on the models of gas dynamics contained in the book. The book and software provide concise, exhaustive, and clear descriptions of terms, notations, concepts, methods, laws, and techniques. It is invaluable for students and engineers who are determined to more accurately predict the physical and chemical processes in gas and plasma dynamics.
Fundamentals of Thermodynamics, Thermochemistry, and Gas Dynamics by Joseph A. Kunc Pdf
The book discusses processes common in the three major fields of thermal science - Thermodynamics, Thermochemistry, and Gas Dynamics. Chapter topics include heat, work and entropy transfers in equilibrium, non-equilibrium, and local-equilibrium systems; calculus of multi-variable functions; equations of state of ideal and real gases; heat capacities of ideal and real gases and their mixtures; the Gibbs Equations; phase-equilibrium and multi-phase transitions; thermodynamic cycles and their efficiencies; fluxes and flow rates, subsonic and supersonic flows, and gas-dynamic shock waves; chemical equilibrium and rates of chemical reactions; the dissipation of energy in real systems, their exergies, and the available work. Part of the book discusses important systems of units used in science and engineering. Scattered through the text are numerous illustrative problems with solutions intended to help readers increase their understanding of the studied concepts and methods. Since thermal processes are important in many areas of science and technology, the book will be useful to students and professionals working in the areas, including the rapidly increasing number of those who work on multi-disciplinary projects but have no extended training in thermal sciences.
This book consists of two parts, theory and applications. Part I introduces the kinetic theory of gases with relevance to molecular energies and intermolecular forces. Part II focuses on how these theories are used to explain real techniques and phenomena involving gases. By stressing the practical implications, the book explains the theory of gas dynamics in a highly readable and comprehensive manner.
Introduction to Reactive Gas Dynamics by Raymond Brun Pdf
Many actual technological problems require the knowledge of the physical and chemical phenomena and processes taking place in high energy gas flows. This book presents an introductory analysis, theoretical and experimental, of these media, highlighting both their fundamental characteristics and applied aspects.
Non-Equilibrium Reacting Gas Flows by Ekaterina Nagnibeda,Elena Kustova Pdf
In the present monograph, we develop the kinetic theory of transport phenomena and relaxation processes in the flows of reacting gas mixtures and discuss its applications to strongly non-equilibrium conditions. The main attention is focused on the influence of non-equilibrium kinetics on gas dynamics and transport properties. Closed systems of fluid dynamic equations are derived from the kinetic equations in different approaches. We consider the most accurate approach taking into account the state-to-state kinetics in a flow, as well as simplified multi-temperature and one-temperature models based on quasi-stationary distributions. Within these approaches, we propose the algorithms for the calculation of the transport coefficients and rate coefficients of chemical reactions and energy exchanges in non-equilibrium flows; the developed techniques are based on the fundamental kinetic theory principles. The theory is applied to the modeling of non-equilibrium flows behind strong shock waves, in the boundary layer, and in nozzles. The comparison of the results obtained within the frame of different approaches is presented, the advantages of the new state-to-state kinetic model are discussed, and the limits of validity for simplified models are established. The book can be interesting for scientists and graduate students working on physical gas dynamics, aerothermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, non-equilibrium physical-chemical kinetics, and kinetic theory of gases.
Chemical Kinetics relates to the rates of chemical reactions and factors such as concentration and temperature, which affects the rates of chemical reactions. Such studies are important in providing essential evidence as to the mechanisms of chemical processes. The book is designed to help the reader, particularly students and researchers of physical science, understand the chemical kinetics mechanics and chemical reactions. The selection of topics addressed and the examples, tables and graphs used to illustrate them are governed, to a large extent, by the fact that this book is aimed primarily at physical science (mainly chemistry) technologists. Undoubtedly, this book contains "must read" materials for students, engineers, and researchers working in the chemistry and chemical kinetics area. This book provides valuable insight into the mechanisms and chemical reactions. It is written in concise, self-explanatory and informative manner by a world class scientists in the field.
