Planning and Human Survival by Melville C. Branch Pdf

Continuing a life-long study, this latest work by Melville Branch describes planning as an essential element in all human activity, a principal determinant of the current condition as well as the future of society and the survival of the species. He explains planning as a primary force in the development, prospects, and continuation of human society. He defines the crucial role of the mass media in the types and success of planning. In clear, nontechnical language, Branch investigates the primary problems confronting human society; individual characteristics and societal features that affect planning, the types and applications of planning, advanced planning education and knowledge, and the societal situation and planning. This book treats planning from a broader, more fundamental perspective than other studies in the field: as a process inherent in human activities, critical to societal success, and a distinct intellectual discipline and managerial method. It will primarily be of interest to planners in civil government, business, and the military. And to those who are active and concerned with the role of the mass media--particularly television--in our future.

The Planning Imperative and Human Behavior by Melville C. Branch Pdf

Defining planning as an inherent aspect of human life, Branch presents conclusions reached from 20 previous volumes dealing with different aspects and applications of planning, as well as from actual professional planning experiences. He shows how planning has been a directive force during human evolution and an intrinsic element in human reactions, actions, and activities. Focusing on the existing situation in the United States, he examines the major difficulties confronting the country with respect to planning: problems of communication, poor legislative performance, educational deficiencies, and cultural materialism. Branch presents the fullest explanation available in the literature today of planning and its place in society, and he concludes with an examination of the potentialities and limitations of existing planning in America and its relation to human behavior.

God's Divine Plan for Humanity Vol. 1 by Felix Wantang Pdf

This book is Volume 1 of “God’s Divine Plan for Humanity” series. You are a very important part of God’s divine plan for humanity; God wants to draw you closer to him and bring you to that place where you reach the full potential of your life, far beyond your imaginable dreams. When you read this book, you will never look at your life and the world the same again; you will start to see the world and understand the Bible better than ever before. This book will take you to God’s creative library, step-by-step to unveil the mysteries of God’s plan for humanity, using the language of heaven. The knowledge you gather from this book will draw you closer to God just like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, and Joshua, all used the secret of the language of heaven to draw closer to God and fearlessly fight the spiritual forces of this sinful world. Learn the hidden secrets of the supernatural language of heaven and see the world through the eyes of the author of life - Jesus Christ. When you look at the world, do you believe there is something seriously wrong with the whole system? Do you believe there is something not natural that for some inexplicable reason, is holding humanity hostage? You can analyze it from all political angles, but the truth is the world is controlled by supernatural spiritual forces and unless you understand what it is and how it operates, you will remain a slave to the system. The Bible teaches in Psalm 24:1-2 that God owns the world and everything in it. If God owns it all, then he is in absolute control and God has the tools to set you free from the satanic forces of this sinful world. The battles we face in this world are not natural. Any attempt to use natural weapons to fight these battles is a big mistake; you cannot use natural weapons to fight a supernatural battle. When you believe the enemy and look at life through the eyes of the enemy, you become engulfed and enslaved by the enemy; but when you believe in Jesus and look at life through the eyes of Jesus, you will ultimately become united to Jesus. In life, what you believe, determines what you see. The battle is in your mind. The choice is yours! “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33.

Gender, Planning and Human Rights by Tovi Fenster Pdf

Challenging the traditional treatment of human rights cast in purely legal frameworks, the authors argue that, in order to promote the notion of human rights, its geographies and spatialities must be investigated and be made explicit. A wealth of case studies examine the significance of these components in various countries with multi-cultured societies, and identify ways to integrate human rights issues in planning, development and policy making. The book uses case studies from UK, Israel, Canada, Singapore, USA, Peru, European Union, Australia and the Czech Republic.

The Radical Insufficiency of Human Life by Aileen Dever Pdf

The postromantic works of the Spaniard Rosalía de Castro and the Colombian José Asunción Silva are indispensable in any anthology of 19th century Spanish and Latin American poetry. However, they found few appreciative readers during their lifetimes, even while displaying two of the most sincere voices of the day. Dever's book is unique: it is the first comparison of Castro's and Silva's poetry. Their works have meaningful differences but share remarkable likenesses in theme, tone, and style, though it is doubtful that either was aware of the other's existence. Of interest to feminist critics is an interpretation of Castro's literary vocation within a patriarchal society. Using the ideas of three 20th century Spanish thinkers, José Ortega y Gasset, Xavier Zubiri, and Pedro Laín Entralgo, Dever applies the concept of radical insufficiency to a comparison of the poets' works. Radical insufficiency holds that humans lack a determined being and fixed course for life, thus norms are not available to make the world intelligible. Humans experience feelings of uncertainty and emptiness, which inevitably lead to anxiety. Confronted by the mystery and pathos of human life, Castro and Silva both describe futile attempts to overcome this insufficiency through creation and contemplation of art, human relationships, and religion. The significance of these writers has transcended their own time; when examined in the context of Spanish and Latin American authors and thinkers who succeeded them, the importance of their works will continue to grow.
