Others see it as a source of excessive market power, personal enrichment, and influence over the State, with an ultimately distorting influence. To inform this debate, this paper analyses the correlates of profitability of firms listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange, covering a dynamic period-in terms of firm entry and growth-from the early 1990s to the late 2000s. Overall, the results do not provide support for the systematic exercise of market power via the product market. At least for this period, the story is more consistent with a competitive and dynamic business sector, despite the continued dominance of business houses and public sector firms in terms of sales and assets. Those with opposing views can, with justification, argue that our analysis does not cover influences, such as corporate governance and state-corporate relations, which may paint a less flattering picture of the corporate sector’s role. Those broader themes deserve further attention.

In recent years, the sphere of tourism in Ukraine has been going through difficult times. The Covid-19 pandemic has become a challenge for the tourism industry, making domestic travel more popular in Ukraine, as it will take some time to resume international tourism. In the conditions of the coronavirus pandemic and the need to adhere to quarantine restrictions and social distance, it became expedient to develop such types of tourism as green (rural) and ecological tourism. To this end, the “Guidelines (Protocol) for the provision of rural green tourism services (rural hospitality) in the corona- and post-coronavirus period” were developed, which states that: “Within 2020 – the year of tourism development in rural areas, NGO Rural Green Tourism in Ukraine” in cooperation with the National Tourism Organization of Ukraine joined the global initiative of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) #Safe travels. Experts of the Union and the EU Project Geographical Indications in Ukraine and partners developed a Protocol to adapt the work of farmsteads with priority to protect human health and effectively mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Its implementation will allow the owners of rural estates that provide rural green tourism services: to take effective practical measures to reduce the risk of coronavirus disease COVID-19 as owners of rural estates, their families, and tourists; to gain additional competitive advantage, guaranteeing the tourist increased attention to the protection of his health; to improve the quality of rural green tourism services (rural hospitality) taking into account the sanitary and hygienic requirements and the requirements of social distancing. The next terrible event for Ukraine was the war. On February 24, 2022, the Russian Federation launched a full-scale, aggressive war against Ukraine on the land, sea, and the air using units of the armed forces, heavy ground weapons, including long-range artillery, missiles, naval ships, and military aircraft. The invasion has already resulted in significant civilian casualties, mass destruction, and damage to Ukraine’s infrastructure and natural heritage. Russian troops are attacking peaceful Ukrainian towns and villages from various directions, including the temporarily occupied Donbas and Crimea and the north-eastern region. This is an act of war, an attack on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and a gross violation of the UN Charter and fundamental norms and principles of international law. Russia’s military action is undoubtedly an unjustified and unprovoked act of aggression against independent and sovereign Ukraine, as well as a violation of all existing norms of international law on nature protection, sustainable development, humanitarian law, basic morals, and principles of human coexistence. In addition to the most obvious consequences of the war in many regions of Ukraine, such as deaths, destruction of homes, general destruction, and poverty, the war worsens the country’s economic situation, threatens the environment, and worsens social living conditions. Therefore, at the current stage of economic development and given the current situation in the world, it is important for the survival of businesses in the war in Ukraine is the search for modern methods and tools for managing business processes, which should be based on the principles of their adaptation to changing conditions innovative technologies. Service companies respond extremely quickly to changes and new challenges, which are characterized by a significant level of dynamism, diversification of offers in the services market, and fierce competition. Therefore, innovations are transformed into a decisive factor in determining new technologies for managing business processes of enterprises in the service sector of the regions, in particular the hotel and restaurant and tourism business. Why Industry 4.0 Sucks! Renegade - reveals the fallacies, febrile fantasies, fabulous fiction, and flatulent fibs that are fuelling the feeble fabrication behind the 4th Industrial Revolution. For almost a decade now I have been heavily involved with Manufacturers, Industries, and Universities in researching Industry 4.0, from a theoretical, academic, and practical perspective. I have always been intrigued by the manufacturing phenomena that is Industry 4.0. So much so that I wrote a best-selling book; 'Industry 4.0: The Industrial Internet of Things. I was so impressed I bought into the promise and seemingly endless potential with great gusto. The future seemed bright - and Industry 4.0 was the future. I revisited my old haunting ground with the full intention of updating and revising my earlier book, which was published by Springer in early 2015 with a new edition for 2022. What I discovered appalled me - Industry 4.0, once the proud and enviable flagship policy for European Manufacturing and the inspiration for many Industry 4.0 initiatives around the globe was now a shambolic derelict town. Not only was its very name misappropriated and used as a soulless generic label leaving it eviscerated of all concepts, principles, and purpose - it is now a meaningless synonym for the equally vacuous 4th Industrial Revolution - a zombie. I In this book, I will detail how and why it all went wrong for Industry 4.0 with quantifiable and documented evidence of its Cathartic collapse and at whose hands. I will explain the avoidable reasons behind the staggering failure rate. Indeed, just over 1% of those who embarked on the journey were able to claim a return of any value, in the form of productivity, efficiency, customer experience, supply chain integration, smart factories, or embarrassingly, any value at all, let alone the desperate hopes of a return on investment. In the EU, the UK, India, China, and even the US Industry 4.0 has failed! The EU commission in 2021 branded Industry 4.0 unfit for purpose and one of the root causes for many of the problems society faces today such as technology monopolies and giant wage disparity - this was coming from Industry 4.0's sponsor and authors! However, Industry was not a technology it was a policy with a robust strategy. If it failed it was due to human ignorance, hubris, and greed rather than any inherent technical deficiencies albeit it was rife with contradictions, ambiguity, and confusion certainty of its own making. But Industry 4.0's failure was a failure of business, technology, and consultancy hyperbole. not of its inherent policy. But all is not lost, there is still hope that Industry 4.0 is redeemable, and as such I propose some tried and tested methods that could help you avoid the all too common mistakes and missteps that plagued Industry 4.0 from the outset and that still prevail even today. Forewarned is forearmed and this information will greatly assist you along your own Industry 4.0 journey. I strongly recommend that you do not undertake an Industry 4.0 journey or even a pilot project before reading this book in its entirety or you will surely fail! Well… 99% of the time.
