Pushing His Luck by Kira Archer Pdf

What happens when a girl with the worst luck ever meets a guy with all the luck in the world? Risk assessor Charley Claybourne has always known her luck pretty much... well, sucks. Getting soaked in lactose-free chocolate milk thanks to a hunkylicious, blue-eyed stranger is bad enough. But discovering that he’s her new billionaire client, and could make or break her career? Oh hi, it’s me, the icing on top of the world’s most craptastic cake. Now Charley has to decide if Chris Lachlan, Disney prince made flesh, is a good risk to be CEO of his family’s billion-dollar corporation. You know, if a reckless adrenaline junkie—who eats the unhealthiest food known to man and has dated cartel princesses, thieves, and actual spies—could ever qualify as the “good” kind of risk. But Charley isn’t immune to the charms of this hot, trouble-seeking billionaire. And as luck would have it, she’ll have to choose between trashing her career... or falling head-over-broken-heels for the biggest risk of her life. Each book in the Winning the Billionaire series is STANDALONE: * 69 Million Things I Hate About You * The Billionaire's Unexpected Baby * Scotland or Bust * Pushing His Luck

Down on Their Luck by David A. Snow,Leon Anderson Pdf

David Snow and Leon Anderson show us the wretched face of homelessness in late twentieth-century America in countless cities across the nation. Through hundreds of hours of interviews, participant observation, and random tracking of homeless people through social service agencies in Austin, Texas. Snow and Anderson reveal who the homeless are, how they live, and why they have ended up on the streets. Debunking current stereotypes of the homeless. Down on Their Luck sketches a portrait of men and women who are highly adaptive, resourceful, and pragmatic. Their survival is a tale of human resilience and determination, not one of frailty and disability.

As A Matter Of Fact! by Skinny Pdf

Skinny sat writing to an insurance company who had made it their best interest to exploit his claim in deceit - "suddenly" ink flowed in aggravation, what was meant to be a rather poignant spew turned into a second hand "no holds barred" account of his life. Reasons for leaving a life of security to go trucking the Arctic iceroads, work in dangerous coal mines, or load DC-3's for the northern based Buffalo Airways tell stories of childhood abuse and spontaneous travel. Skinny relates many points of view on what he thinks of society as a whole - views that at times even he wishes to understand - finally forced to settle down, turn around and look back... this is one "wild & crazy" guy's version of truth... "with a twist!"

The Somerset & Dorset by Peter JC Smith Pdf

In 1987, the original Oxford Publishing Company produced an amalgam of two paperback books written by former Branksome fireman Peter Smith. Mendips Engineman and Footplate over the Mendips told the story of a young railway fireman and his driver Donald Beale. Enthralling the reader with stories of working trains over the old Somerset & Dorset line, the two books encompassed not just ordinary workings, but also early footplate experiences of Peter's own railway career, driving the very last northbound 'Pines Express' in 1962. This edition contains the complete original text and also includes a new set of black and white images with which to illustrate what remains a still lamented cross-country railway. The Somerset and Dorset: From the Footplate is a book to be savored, not just by those who remember this line, but by a whole generation of railway enthusiasts.

An Introduction to the Sagas of Icelanders by Carl Phelpstead Pdf

Combining an accessible approach with innovative scholarship, An Introduction to the Sagas of Icelanders provides up-to-date perspectives on a unique medieval literary genre that has fascinated the English-speaking world for more than two centuries. Carl Phelpstead draws on historical context, contemporary theory, and close reading to deepen our understanding of Icelandic saga narratives about the island’s early history. Phelpstead explores the origins and cultural setting of the genre, demonstrating the rich variety of oral and written source traditions that writers drew on to produce the sagas. He provides fresh, theoretically informed discussions of major themes such as national identity, gender and sexuality, and nature and the supernatural, relating the Old Norse-Icelandic texts to questions addressed by postcolonial studies, feminist and queer theory, and ecocriticism. He then presents readings of select individual sagas, pointing out how the genre’s various source traditions and thematic concerns interact. Including an overview of the history of English translations that shows how they have been stimulated and shaped by ideas about identity, and featuring a glossary of critical terms, this book is an essential resource for students of the literary form. A volume in the series New Perspectives on Medieval Literature: Authors and Traditions, edited by R. Barton Palmer and Tison Pugh

Early Reviews Easily a new classic Normally I either power read through an entire book or read it over a month as a casual read. This story captured me from the first chapter, I had to force myself to stop halfway through it to digest the concepts and story. Upon restarting it the next day I found that I was even re-reading a couple of chapters from before where I left off just to refresh my memory so I did not miss a single nuance of the story. I loved it!!! From the concept to your descriptive writing, you had me hooked from the beginning. Yes, space-themed novels appeal to me, but I am sure anyone could find something they love about this book. The Plot Thickens I loved the book! The storyline was great. The characters believable. I really liked the characters of Jason, Seattle, and Tinker. Mu-monk was absolutely the best character to me! Can't wait till the next book. I really hope this is the start of a great series.
