Quicklet on Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre by Maureen Lee Lenker Pdf

ABOUT THE BOOK Jane Eyre, first published in London in 1847 under Charlotte Brontes pen name Currer Bell, is a classic three-volume novel that exemplifies the tenets of both Gothic and Romantic fiction. Though popular on both high school and college required reading lists, it has also been a book well-beloved by readers for generations. Female readers make up the novels most ardent devotees, no doubt aided by the presence of a strong female protagonist and the undeniably alluring Byronic hero, Mr. Rochester. A novel indicative of the Victorian era from which it was produced, Jane Eyre holds readers enrapt with a classic Gothic mystery at its core and a heady romance between the two main characters. MEET THE AUTHOR Maureen Lee Lenker recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Southern California with a BA in history and cinematic arts, as well as a minor in theatre. She is currently a program assistant at the USC Sidney Harman Academy for Polymathic Study. In the fall, she will continue her education as an MPhil student in history at the University of Oxford. Her concentration will be material culture in Renaissance England. In addition to her academic writing, she has written movie reviews and television recaps for the entertainment blog, The Popsicle. She is a classic film buff, a pop culture junkie, and a history enthusiast, and she is happiest when her life allows her to combine these three interests. She loves USC football (being a former member of the Trojan Marching Band), Disney, Impressionist Art, Broadway musicals, Shakespeare, and Jane Austen. A life-long lover of the theatre, she enjoys attending, acting in, and producing plays. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing with a good book and a cup of tea or watching old movies on TCM. Or if shes feeling more adventurous, playing pub trivia at a bar with friends and a Pimms Cup in hand. Shes a die-hard Trojan, a hapless fan-girl, and a cockeyed optimist. Follow her on twitter at @maureenlee89 EXCERPT FROM THE BOOK Bertha, the infamous madwoman in the attic, stands in stark contrast to Janes control. She is the embodiment of unchecked passion, and Rochester even describes her promiscuous behavior and delight in vices as symptoms of her lunacy. Her scraggly hair and loose nightgown are physical manifestations of Berthas lack of containment. Bertha's own inability to control and master her passions forces Rochester to physically confine and contain her within Thornfield. When she escapes her prison, her passionate nature pushes her to commit heinous acts of violence. Jane Eyre has long held a hallowed place in pop culture and public consciousness. In addition to the Wide Sargasso Sea, the novel has inspired countless spin-offs and sequels, such as Jasper Ffordes The Eyre Affair. In addition, it has been retold in over 10 film and mini-series adaptations and even a stage musical. The most recent film adaptation debuted in March 2011, and it starred Mia Wasikowska as Jane and Michael Fassbender as Mr. Rochester. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte by Charlotte Bronte Pdf

#3 in the BBC's Best Novels of All Time! Jane Eyre is a novel by English writer Charlotte Brontë, published under the pen name "Currer Bell", on 16 October 1847, by Smith, Elder & Co. of London. The story follows the experiences of its eponymous heroine, including her growth to adulthood and her love for Mr. Rochester, the brooding master of Thornfield Hall. The novel revolutionised prose fiction by being the first to focus on its protagonist's moral and spiritual development through an intimate first-person narrative, where actions and events are coloured by a psychological intensity. Charlotte Brontë has been called the "first historian of the private consciousness", and the literary ancestor of writers like Proust and Joyce. The book contains elements of social criticism, with a strong sense of Christian morality at its core, and is considered by many to be ahead of its time because of Jane's individualistic character and how the novel approaches the topics of class, sexuality, religion and feminism. A True Classic that Belongs on Every Bookshelf!

Jane Eyre (Annotated) by Charlotte Bronte Pdf

"I am no bird; and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will." From Jane Eyre Charlotte Brontë created with Jane Eyre one of the most delicate novels in Women Literature, questioning certain gender roles, moralities and taboos within the patriarchal society. The protagonist, Jane, a brave, clever, self-concious character on the shady side of life, struggles for the equality between men and women, rises against the puritan bigotry and understanding that puts women off the stage. A novel ahead of its time, with a lot of implications for anyone within a certain kind of society that not only helps us to see what we are sometimes blind to but also makes us acquainted with another way of thinking. The indiviualistic character of Jane, fighting for self-determination and love and against the prudish double moral of the time, along with Charlotte Brontë's exploration of classism, sexuality, proto-feminism and religion makes this novel one of the most important ones even now.In this book I make following changes:: - First of all I changed the main title picture.: - I remove all unnecessary things like as logo and etc.: - I remove all spelling error.: - I remove all grammar error.: - I remove all empty pages.: - I hope the reader of this book must be like due to above changes.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë by Charlotte Brontë Pdf

Charlotte Brontë made a daring choice for her 1847 novel. Jane Eyre possesses neither the great beauty nor entrancing charm that her fictional predecessors used to make their way in the world. Instead, Jane relies upon her powers of diligence and perception, conducting herself with dignity animated by passion. The instant and lasting success of Jane Eyre proved Brontë's instincts correct. Readers of her era and ever after have taken the impoverished orphan girl into their hearts, following her from the custody of cruel relatives to a dangerously oppressive boarding school and onward through a troubled career as a governess. Jane's first assignment at Thorn field, where the proud and cynical master of the house harbors a scandalous secret, draws readers ever deeper into a compelling exploration of the mysteries of the human heart.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte Pdf

Charlotte Brontë's most beloved novel describes the passionate love between the courageous orphan Jane Eyre and the brilliant, brooding, and domineering Rochester. The loneliness and cruelty of Jane's childhood strengthens her natural independence and spirit, which prove invaluable when she takes a position as a governess at Thornfield Hall. But after she falls in love with her sardonic employer, her discovery of his terrible secret forces her to make a heart-wrenching choice. Ever since its publication in 1847, Jane Eyre has enthralled every kind of reader, from the most critical and cultivated to the youngest and most unabashedly romantic. It lives as one of the great triumphs of storytelling and as a moving and unforgettable portrayal of a woman's quest for self-respect.
