Raw Emotions by Verona C. Pdf

Raw Emotions, the book, words are expressed in its truest state. It doesnt dilute the realities as they appear. Instead, it opens up to a rhythm, a beat, that though sad some of the experiences might be, emotion expressed without any form of pretense will help to inspire or motivate one to a higher level of thought. The book covers a spiritual realm, societal, and personal. You will laugh, you will cry, yes, you will be saddened at times but at the end of that verse you will simply learn to appreciate the power of words in context. Raw Emotions is as it is; its title portrays nothing that is sugar coated. The author hopes that the content of this book will open up a conversation, be it with a stranger, a friend, or a relative. This book will have readers laughing at, The Internet crying at The Flowers That Didnt Bloom, wanting to become like; His Name was Job, looking at the mentally challenged in a different way as one reads: They Say Im Mad. Having pity on those we call bosses when we read Sour Power and for women to reach out and demand the respect they deserve and to applaud the men who do give this respect after reading The Antique Man and those who have never had a Flat Bridge experience, desiring to do so. For the precious moments spent in childhood innocence with a friend who you chose to Remember in a most special way. The collection of literary pieces the author hopes will be widely appreciated by all. She hopes that her writing will be a voice to the voiceless.

Raw Emotions by Beatriz Aponte Pdf

My name is Beatriz Aponte. I was born in South Norwalk, CT (nicknamed Betty Boo). I am the middle child out of five raised by a single mother in a very noisy household. As you can imagine, many things were taken from me and privacy was no exception. My only possessions were my thoughts so I spent most of my early years writing my feelings down. In school, I always loved reading and writing. I was always particularly interested in finding out about the author and would create a story behind the story of the writer's life. During my teenage years and early twenties, a piece of paper and pen at times were my only two real friends when the chaos surrounded me. For many years, my audience consisted only of my inner circle (certain friends and cousins) but there was the pleasure of occasional strangers, whom you'll probably never see again. One of my cousins always advised me to take my writing more seriously, but I am my worse critic. However, I realized that I have a gift to express myself with beautifully selected words, and I could also be inspired by what others shared with me. My poetry is no walk in the park. My poetry is the voice of a soul, who has lived many different lives, pain, loss, heartbreak, etc. My poetry, as well as my books, are all based on true stories. I have been writing my entire life; yet, I gave up on the silent childhood dream of being a well-known and acknowledged writer, my true passion. It wasn't until my loss and hitting rock-bottom when I truly challenged myself as a professional writer. Raw Emotions is only the beginning. More shall be revealed because the more I wrote, the more I healed. I thank God for every set-back, for every obstacle and for every single tear. I am a living example of what one can accomplish with faith and determination. I wholeheartedly thank you for contributing to my dream and listening to my story.

Pure Emotion by Susan H. Lawrence Pdf

Do not be shaped by this world; instead be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you; you will know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect. (Romans 12:2) Emotions saturate Scripture. God is an emotional Godnot in the same way we talk about an emotional person. But God is certainly aware of the runaway emotions were referring to when we put a negative spin on emotions. We cant escape Gods presence. That means he sees and hears alongside us, including our (often messy) emotions. And if we let him, God will replace those untruthful messages weve learned about emotions along the journey of life with the truthful messages reflecting his character, will, and commands. God didnt mess up his design of you. He created you in his image. He has a plan for your life. He even knew what mistakes youd make throughout your life, and he still loves you and wants nothing more than to be in an ever-deepening relationship with you. He will pursue youwhether youre not following him and need to make that decision or youre following him marginally or youre passionate about him. He designed you for more, and he will pursue you, tapping you on the shoulder, whispering in your ear, and knocking on the door of your heart so that your daily lifeincluding your decisions, attitudes, and yes, emotionsis impacted in the purity of who he created you to be and the everyday messiness of living on Earth. If your emotions arent reflecting the character of God well, youre probably distorting something and need to get back on track. Thats what this journey is about: growing closer to God, getting to know him better, and committing to reflecting him more and more on a daily basis. Pure Emotion will dig into, reflect upon, and live out Gods Word. Chapters include: Week One: The Emotional Experience Week Two: Whats a Pure Emotion? Week Three: Fear Week Four: Jealousy Week Five: Anger Week Six: Anxiety and Peace Week Seven: Frustration Week Eight: Guilt and Shame Week Nine: Joy Week Ten: Living Emotionally Pure

The Man Who Started the Civil War by Anna Koivusalo Pdf

A fresh biography of a neglected figure in Southern history who played a pivotal role in the Civil War. In the predawn hours of April 12, 1861, James Chesnut Jr. piloted a small skiff across the Charleston Harbor and delivered the fateful order to open fire on Fort Sumter—the first shots of the Civil War. In The Man Who Started the Civil War, Anna Koivusalo offers the first comprehensive biography of Chesnut and through him a history of honor and emotion in elite white southern culture. Koivusalo reveals the dynamic, and at times fragile, nature of these concepts as they were tested and transformed from the era of slavery through Reconstruction. Best remembered as the husband of Mary Boykin Chesnut, author of A Diary from Dixie, James Chesnut served in the South Carolina legislature and as a US senator before becoming a leading figure in the South's secession from the Union. Koivusalo recounts how honor and emotion shaped Chesnut's life events and the decisions that culminated in the cataclysm of civil war. Challenging the traditional view of honor as a code, Koivusalo illuminates honor's vital but fickle role as a source for summoning, channeling, and expressing emotion in the nineteenth-century South.

Perezhivanie, Emotions and Subjectivity by Marilyn Fleer,Fernando González Rey,Nikolai Veresov Pdf

This book draws upon Vygotsky’s idea of perezhivanie, emotions and imagination, and introduces the concepts of subjective sense and subjective configuration. These concepts are crucial for explaining and understanding children’s development from a cultural-historical perspective. A book which theorises the relations between the social and the individual through a study of a child’s perezhivanie, which analyses emotions more holistically, and advances the concepts of subjective sense and subjective configuration, is much needed. This book examines the complexity of human development through a comprehensive elaboration of these concepts, allowing for new insights to be put forward. It doesn’t always follow the chronological order of Vygotsky’s publications, as many of his works remained in the family archives until the 1980s, when his Selected Works were first published in Russian. There has long been a need for a contemporary book on the scholarly treatment of perezhevanie, emotions, and subjectivity, and as such this book revisits dominant representations of these concepts and then puts forward new ways of conceptualising and using them in empirical research. The chapters cover a broad range of case studies where the concepts of perezhivanie, emotions and imagination and subjective sense and subjective configuration are used to give new empirical and theoretical insights into the study of human development.

Combat Sports Medicine by Ramin Kordi,Nicola Maffulli,Randall R. Wroble,W. Angus Wallace Pdf

Sports medicine and sports science are relatively new and rapidly developing fields of knowledge. During the past 2 decades, a significant body of scientific knowledge has been published in these areas. However, there is a demand for practical ref- ences which address sports medicine and science in the context of different sports. This demand is higher in some sports including combat sports, which are highly physically and mentally demanding, and cause challenging issues such as risk of blood-borne infections, weight reduction, head injuries, stress management, and safety for women and children. This book has been developed to meet the needs of the practitioners who work with combat sports athletes in order to improve their health and performance. Combat sports include four Olympic sports (boxing, wrestling, judo, and t- kwondo) and other popular sports such as karate, kick boxing, and Wushu. These sports are popular in most countries of the world, both at competitive and rec- ational levels. Combat sports are practiced by people of different ages for a variety of reasons such as to gain fitness and health benefits and to learn self-defense.

The Emotions in Early Chinese Philosophy by Curie Virág Pdf

In China, the debate over the moral status of emotions began around the fourth century BCE, when early philosophers first began to invoke psychological categories such as the mind (xin), human nature (xing), and emotions (qing) to explain the sources of ethical authority and the foundations of knowledge about the world. Although some thinkers during this period proposed that human emotions and desires were temporary physiological disturbances in the mind caused by the impact of things in the world, this was not the account that would eventually gain currency. The consensus among those thinkers who would come to be recognized as the foundational figures of the Confucian and Daoist philosophical traditions was that the emotions represented the underlying, dispositional constitution of a person, and that they embodied the patterned workings of the cosmos itself. Curie Virág sets out to explain why the emotions were such a central preoccupation among early thinkers, situating the entire debate within developments in conceptions of the self, the cosmos, and the political order. She shows that the mainstream account of emotions as patterned reality emerged as part of a major conceptual shift towards the recognition of natural reality as intelligible, orderly, and coherent. The mainstream account of emotions helped to summon the very idea of the human being as a universal category and to establish the cognitive and practical agency of human beings. This book, the first intensive study of the subject, traces the genealogy of these early Chinese philosophical conceptions and examines their crucial role in the formation of ethical, political and cultural values in China.

The Archaeology of Mind: Neuroevolutionary Origins of Human Emotions by Jaak Panksepp,Lucy Biven Pdf

A look at the seven emotional systems of the brain by the researcher who discovered them. What makes us happy? What makes us sad? How do we come to feel a sense of enthusiasm? What fills us with lust, anger, fear, or tenderness? Traditional behavioral and cognitive neuroscience have yet to provide satisfactory answers. The Archaeology of Mind presents an affective neuroscience approach—which takes into consideration basic mental processes, brain functions, and emotional behaviors that all mammals share—to locate the neural mechanisms of emotional expression. It reveals—for the first time—the deep neural sources of our values and basic emotional feelings. This book elaborates on the seven emotional systems that explain how we live and behave. These systems originate in deep areas of the brain that are remarkably similar across all mammalian species. When they are disrupted, we find the origins of emotional disorders: - SEEKING: how the brain generates a euphoric and expectant response - FEAR: how the brain responds to the threat of physical danger and death - RAGE: sources of irritation and fury in the brain - LUST: how sexual desire and attachments are elaborated in the brain - CARE: sources of maternal nurturance - GRIEF: sources of non-sexual attachments - PLAY: how the brain generates joyous, rough-and-tumble interactions - SELF: a hypothesis explaining how affects might be elaborated in the brain The book offers an evidence-based evolutionary taxonomy of emotions and affects and, as such, a brand-new clinical paradigm for treating psychiatric disorders in clinical practice.
